FUTURES LEVEL 8 TOURNAMENTS
In Futures Level 8 tournaments kids will experience a fun,
friendly, non-elimination introduction to tournament tennis that's
played start to finish in 4 hours or less. Juniors are welcome and
encouraged to continue to participate in Futures Level 8
tournaments until they are winning consecutive matches and winning
Futures Level 8 tournaments. (Once a player wins 3 Futures Level 8
tournaments in an age division, or earns a MAS ranking of 90 or
better, they are graduated up to Level 7 and above tournaments).
Every kid that participates in a Futures Level 8 tournament earns
50 participation points! These points count toward their MAS
standing / ranking and even if they don't win any matches they get
the 50 points. Match Formats: Short formats are used to enable
players to participate against numerous opponents- i.e. Short-Sets,
One Super Set, Timed Matches, and No-Add Scoring. Longer Formats
may be used for very small draws. (8U Match format = 2/3 7-Point
games).
Directions
_Please use the address on the top, left hand side of the
tournament website and MAP (click to map our directions) link to
arrive to the tournament location on time. Please use the
address/map link on the main page at the top to the Banneker Tennis
Court across from Howard University to arrive to the tournament
site.
Draws
_Please note that it is the player's responsibility to check the
website for all match times. Make sure to verify the following on
the draw sheet online before leaving for your match date, day,
location, and time of play.
Match Play Format/Time
_Match play format/Time may be changed by the Tournament Director
to accommodate weather conditions or if a player withdraws to best
utilize court time. Players should be available for the duration of
the tournament so that we can finish the tournament. Match format
could eliminate doubles consolation, single consolation, and
IMPLEMENT and combination format of no ads, 2 all in each
set, 8 game prosets, short set(s).
_Inclement Weather_
_The tournament director reserves the right to implement rain
delays in the event of inclement weather. Players should be
available for the duration of the tournament so that we can finish
the tournament.
_Tournament Hours
_Please note that depending upon the number of entries, court
availability of outdoor courts, and weather conditions the TD may
start as early as 8:00am Saturday and Sunday, and if necessary, as
late as the USTA guidelines and regulations allows it for each age
group.
_What to Bring_
_To Be Able To Have a Good Tournament Experience Parents/ Players
Please Come Prepared: 1. PORTABLE CHAIR (VERY IMPORTANT), TOWEL,
WATER, JUG, EXTRA CLOTHING (TO CHANGE INTO), HAT, FRUIT, SPORTS
DRINK, WARM-UP BALLS 2. SUNSCREEN 3. BE AWARE OF WEATHER CONDITIONS
YOU WILL BE PLAYING UNDER AND BRING OTHER ITEMS IF NEEDED 4. Extra
Racquets
Refund Policy
After registration closes there are no refunds with exception to
events that the tournament director had to cancel due to lack of
registration for the group. In the event of inclement interruptions
and we exhaust all options to bring the tournament back to state;
in the event, we are unable to there are no refunds.
Liability Waiver
_Waiver, I the player and parent assume any risk, and take full
responsibility and waive any claims of personal injury, death or
damage to personal property associated with activities and events
organized by USTA, Parks and Recreation, AMTO, S. Marie Adams. I
understand and confirm that by entering this tournament I WAIVE AND
RELEASE and give up considerable future legal rights. All parents
must sign the liability waiver at tournament check in before a
player can play.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, August 8, 2017 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
