MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN:
8/03 Fri - Mandatory Check-In for Boys 14s 5:00-8:00 pm --Players who come during this time can play "STUMP THE UMP" - ask the Referee a question and be entered to win a $100 gift certificate for the Pro Shop. 8/04 Sat - Mandatory Check-In for Boys 12s Noon-7:00 pm --Boys 12s Mandatory Player Meeting at 7:00 pm (Players attending will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate for the Pro Shop)
Mandatory means just that. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by that time. This is THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP and we want you well rested for your match. Singles Matches will start at 8:00 am. Only the player can check him/herself in, do not send someone in your place. For those of you who "just cant make it by that time" need to do the following and please do not call and ask for permission to miss check-in: 1 - Make sure your entry fee has been paid. 2 - Email (tennismobile@gmail.com) or Fax (251-208-5195) in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed. 3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time to check in. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament. 4 - Those of you playing 8:00 am matches at the Mobile Tennis Center will need to be on your assigned court at 7:45. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time. For most of the day on Saturday we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this is not enough to check in everyone 30 minutes before their match times. If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5 people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in during the specified time. Thank you for your cooperation.

MATCH CHECK IN PROCEDURES
1 - The first matches of each day will report directly to the court at
7:45, and balls will be on the court. The court assignments will be posted on the big Court Assignment board across from the Tournament Desk. Matches should begin promptly at
8:00. We call this a "Shotgun Start"
2 - In most cases for all matches after 8:00 am, please get in a single-file line at
the tournament desk about 15 minutes before your scheduled match
time. Do not wait until 9:59 to check in for 10:00. You must go to the
bathroom, fill your water bottle, etc. and be ready to go on court
before you check in. When using block scheduling, we may use the shotgun start for matches after 8:00 am. Listen for announcements throughout the day regarding match check in. 3 - Once you have checked in, you must stay where instructed until
we tell you the court assignment. 4 - We will be watching the clock for lateness. Please do not ask if
your opponent has checked in - you have other things to think about.
The staff and the Referee will take care of lateness issues, you need
only worry about your own timeliness.

• Players may be moved between major groups due to direct wins if players are separated by fewer than 50
ranking points.

considered for seeding, may also be considered for seeding. Additionally a player already under

ALTERNATES AND REPLACEMENT OF WITHDRAWING PLAYERS
Alternates. The Tournament Committee shall prepare a list of those players with timely entries not accepted
into the main draw that appear on the Sectional Endorsement Lists.
Ordering the Alternate List. Alternates shall be ordered using the National Standings List used to accept
players into the draw to fill remaining vacancies. Timely entrants who do not appear on the National
Standing List shall be ordered by lot and placed at the bottom of the list. Although the USTA Junior
Competition Department may publish more recent lists to aid tournaments in seeding, you must use the
original NSL used for selection to order Alternates. In fairness to Alternates who are weighing the
probability of getting into the tournament, once the order of an Alternate List has been established it may
not be changed.
Late Entries. Late entrants who are eligible for selection (e.g. they appear on a Sectional Endorsement List)
shall be listed below timely entrants in the order received. Players who did not enter, but appear on a
Direct Acceptance List or are a USTA National Level 2 Tournament qualifier, are not eligible to be late
entrants. If these players attempt to enter late, they should be advise to submit a wild card application if
the deadline for submitting an application has not passed (5 days after entries close). Late entries received
at the same time shall be ordered by lot. Late entrants are not ordered by position on the National
Standings List.
Tournaments shall replace withdrawing players after the entry deadline as follows:
Replacement of Player Within Sectional Association Quota Before Draw is Made. Before the draw is
made, the Tournament Committee shall replace a player who was accepted as part of a Section’s quota with
the next player on that Section’s endorsement list. This includes players who were alternates and accepted
by this method.
Replacement of All Other Players Before Draw is Made. The Tournament Committee shall replace:
• a player accepted from a Direct Acceptance List;
• a player who qualified from a USTA National Level 2 Tournament;
• a wild card recipient;
• an endorsed player accepted from the National Standings List; and
• a player accepted from the alternate list for one of these reasons
with the highest listed remaining alternate.
Replacement of Player After Draw is Made, but Before the Start of Player’s First Match. The
Tournament Committee shall replace a player who withdraws, is defaulted, or is otherwise removed from
the draw after the draw is made, but before the player’s first match with the next highest remaining
alternate, unless the Tournament Committee determines the player may remain in the draw. (See USTA
Section 6 - 11
Regulation III.B.6. These regulations allow for exceptions when a player has been defaulted for lateness, or
has to withdraw from their first round for injury, illness or personal circumstance.)
Procedure for On-Site Alternates. • Alternates who are on site are
asked to register during the Check-In for their age division. • On each day in which alternates may be accepted into a draw, any alternate desiring admittance must
check in and be ready for play no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match time of the event
for which they are an alternate.
• The order of the alternates is based on the original Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more
recent National Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in.
On-Site Alternates may be admitted into the singles main draw to replace withdrawing players until the
completion of the first round of play. On-Site Alternates may not play in the Feed-In Championship or
Compass Draw unless they have first played in the singles main draw.

USTA Junior Player Oath
In an effort to take steps to change the culture of sportsmanship in junior tennis, the Junior Competition Committee has adopted a USTA Junior Player Oath to be used at all USTA Junior National Championships. The Oath will be administered at check in and reads as follows: "I recognize that tennis is a sport that places the responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis."
|
FREE LUNCHES
Each player is entitled to two lunches on Sunday and Monday. We hope you will share one with your parent or coach so they do not have to stop for lunch. The lunches are available from 9:30 - 1:30. When you are ready for your lunch, you will stop at the first table of the "food court" and you will be asked your name and given one or two tickets depending on if you plan to pick up both lunches at that time. If you only get one ticket, you can come back for your second ticket later if you like. We do it this way because we do not want you to have to keep up with little tickets. When you reach the second table, the lunch staff will ask for your ticket and you will tell them your choice of sandwiches. Most box lunches will include a sandwich, chips, cookie, and a bottled water. Lunches are provided by Jimmy Johns, Atlanta Bread, Jason's Deli, Jersey Mike's and Mellow Mushroom.

KRAZE FROZEN YOGURT
