DRAWS LIMITED - PLAYER SELECTION PROCESS

The Santa Barbara City Junior Tournament is a limited draw tournament. This tournament is limited to a maximum of 32 players in each event. In the event that entries are oversubscribed for a particular event, the following selection process will be used:

• Step 1: top 26 players will be accepted from the natural age division (top 30 in 10's)
• Step 2: up to 4 spots from the next lower age division will be accepted (player must be in top 100 of that lower division standing list in order to qualify for these spots)
• Step 3: Tournament Committee will award up to 2 wild cards for players not accepted in steps 1 or 2. If the Tournament Committee does not award these, any unused wild card spots will go back to the natural division.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.

10 & Under Divisions

All 10 & Under matches will be played with the “Green” Ball (Green Dot Ball) on a standard sized 78’ court. There is no racquet restriction with this ball.

8 & Under Divisions

All 8 & Under matches will be played with the “Red” ball on a 36’x18’ court. Racquets must not exceed 23 inches.
