SATURDAY DELAY as of 8:55 am - ANOTHER 2 HOURS = TOTAL 4 HOUR DELAY right now
Courts have been drying for the last hour, and now it's drizzling again. SO, ANOTHER 2 HOUR DELAY. SO, ADD 4 HOURS TO THE TIMES POSTED IN YOUR DRAWS. Matches scheduled for 6:30 pm or later will have to be rescheduled for tomorrow, so all Sunday times will change as well. I'm posting a report called "Saturday Times - add 4 hours" so you can see your current Saturday times. I'll be taking down the draws so I can work on the revised schedules once that report is posted. When draws come back online, all SUNDAY times will be "real" and will include the late Saturday evening matches that moved to Sunday. Thanks for your patience.

SATURDAY 6:30 am update TWO HOUR DELAY on SATURDAY
Rain, rain, go away! The courts are soaked and it's still raining. So much for forecasts!!! Two hour delay ALL DAY on Saturday. Example, an 8 am match is now 10 am. A 2 pm match is now 4 pm, etc. I WILL NOT CHANGE TIMES IN THE DRAWS today - just add 2 hours! Your patience will be appreciated. Four courts drain well, four courts do not. We need sun and a little wind once the rain stops - Mother Nature is in charge! Lunch is still 11-2 at the pool pavilion.

SATURDAY WEATHER UPDATE posted 5:15 am
Would you believe it's raining still at my house? Last night when I rescheduled it was 0% chance after midnight! I'm headed to the club and will post an update no later than 6:30. We only have a few courts booked the first two rounds and it's still supposed to be gorgeous today. We'll play! I appreciate your patience (in advance) as we work through inevitable delays today. The Luncheon will still be served 11 - 2 at the pool!

NEW DRAW TIMES ARE POSTED as of 10:20 PM and 11:35 pm
ALL main draw matches have been rescheduled. Draws reflect the new match times. Consolation match times were posted at 11:35 pm as well.. Any consolation matches played on Saturday afternoon will be on the HARD COURTS. Most consolation matches on Sunday will be on CLAY, as courts/space permit. Thanks for your understanding. I have tried to accommodate avoidances and have proofed this twice, but do not promise that it is error free- if you see something impossilbe (two matches at the same time), please EMAIL ME AT healypointtennis@gmail.com. It is possible that you could be scheduled back-to-back in different divisions. If we need to individually allow some additional rest time, of course we will.

RAIN UPDATE FRIDAY updated 7:45 pm
We have cancelled all Friday matches. The 6 pm, 7:30 pm and 9 pm matches MUST PLAY BEFORE the Saturday matches. I will re-do ALL MATCH TIMES IN ALL DRAWS before I go to bed tonight. Please check the internet before going to bed! The four matches that were on court tonight will be 8 am, for sure. No one else will be any earlier than 9:30. We will play a shortened format on Saturday to get caught up - 10 point tiebreak instead of a full 3rd set. CALL THE SHOP if you have questions - 478-746-2394. I will likely not answer my cell.

DIRECTIONS TO HEALY POINT COUNTRY CLUB - 293 RIVER NORTH BLVD MACON GA 31211
NOTE: Some GPS systems will have you exit on GA Highway 18 in Forsyth. We strongly recommend ignoring that advice, and proceeding to Exit #169 (Arkwright Road) from Interstate 75. At the end of the ramp, turn EAST (left if coming from Atlanta, right if coming from the south) toward Carrabba's, Outback, Shell, Waffle House. Just around the curve, less than 1/2 mile, turn RIGHT into the River North Subdivision. Give the guard your name and tell him that you are going to the Tennis courts. Continue approximately 3 miles (six speed bumps!) on River North Blvd. At the stop sign, turn RIGHT into Healy Point Country Club.
|
MATCH and TIEBREAK FORMAT
A full third set will be played in the event of split sets. As always, a seven-point set tiebreak will be played at 6-all in any other set. The COMAN procedure will be used for all NTRP matches, which the standard tiebreak procedure will be used for all OPEN matches.

ALTERNATE SITE ... IDLE HOUR COUNTRY CLUB 250 IDLE HOUR DRIVE MACON GA 31210
It is possible that we will need to use courts at Idle Hour Country Club on Friday night. Idle Hour has the only other clay courts in Macon, and we appreciate them helping us out with big draws. Please show your thanks as well by treating their courts, spectator areas, and parking lots as you would your own. If we reach capacity on this tournament, it is possible that we might move to the hard courts at JDS and/or Tattnall as well, for Friday night play only. This website will reflect those changes if necessary.
|
TWO EVENTS BUT ONLY ONE LEVEL WITHIN AN EVENT...also note that you will play a FULL THIRD SET if you split
For scheduling purposes, with only 8 courts and 2.5 days, we must limit entries to one level within any event. For instance, you can only play one level of mixed doubles. The reason for this is rest. For example, while the 7.0s are on court, the 8.0s are playing, and while the 8.0s are playing, the 7.0s are resting. If you're playing both 7.0 and 8.0, I cannot schedule you back to back without a rest period, so it throws off the logical schedule for the entire tournament. While you might be playing 7.0 and 8.0, someone else might be playing 6.0 and 7.0, so all three events are affected by two players. Thanks for your understanding.

EARLY ENTRANT GIFT IF YOU REGISTER BY APRIL 1ST
