THIS ANNUAL CLAY COURT TOURNAMENT, HELD AT 5 SITES IN THE BEAUTIFUL HIGHLANDS OF NORTH CAROLINA, IS KNOWN FOR ITS QUALITY TENNIS, HOSPITALITY, PLAYER COMRADERY, BEAUTIFUL VENUES AND COOL TEMPERATURES! THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING. WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU!

The Gamekeeper Restaurant is very close to the gatehouse entrance to YRC.

Yonahlossee Racquet Club does not register when people try to get directions to it with their travel devices. Type in "The Gamekeeper Restaurant" at the above address, and that will take you just short of the entrance to YRC (both are on the right coming from the Blowing Rock direction).

ALL PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED TO REGISTER FOR 2 EVENTS. A PLAYER MAY NOT REGISTER FOR 2 MIXED DOUBLES EVENTS.

PLEASE NOTE IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A RACQUET CLUB OR TRAVEL GROUP OF PLAYERS SO THAT WE CAN DO OUR BEST TO BE SURE THAT YOU DON'T PLAY SOMEONE FROM YOUR GROUP IN YOUR FIRST ROUND MATCH.

A SEEDING COMMITTEE CONSISTING OF THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR, PARTICIPATING CLUB PROFESSIONALS, SITE DIRECTORS AND THE REFEREE WILL MEET ON THURSDAY FOLLOWING THE CLOSE OF REGISTRATION TO DETERMINE SEEDS IN EACH DRAW.

DRAWS AND SCHEDULE :

DRAWS AND FIRST MATCH SCHEDULE OF PLAY WILL BE POSTED ON-LINE BY MIDNIGHT ON SATURDAY, JULY 20TH.

MATCH FORMAT FOR ALL DIVISIONS:

ALL MAIN DRAW MATCHES WILL BE BEST 2 OUT OF 3 FULL SETS WITH A 7- POINT TIE BREAK AT 6-6. REGULAR SCORING. NEW BALLS FOR A FINAL SET. 10 MINUTE REST PERIOD BETWEEN 2ND AND FINAL SET.

CONSOLATION MATCHES WILL BE OFFERED FOR FIRST MATCH LOSERS IN SINGLES ONLY. THIS WILL BE A VOLUNTARY SIGN-UP AFTER YOUR FIRST LOSS. THE CONSOLATION MATCHES WILL BE BEST 2 OUT OF 3 SETS WITH A 10- POINT MATCH BREAK PLAYED IN LIEU OF THE 3RD SET. NO NEW BALLS. 2 MINUTE REST PERIOD BETWEEN 2ND SET AND 10 POINT DECIDING MATCH TIEBREAK.

COMAN TIEBREAK PROCEDURE WILL BE USED FOR ALL TIEBREAKS:
PLAYERS CHANGE ENDS AFTER THE FIRST POINT, THEN AFTER EVERY FOUR POINTS, AND AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE TIEBREAK.

COURT SURFACE:
ALL MATCHES WILL BE PLAYED ON HAR-TRU CLAY COURTS. IN THE EVENT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE REFEREE HAS THE RIGHT TO CHANGE COURT SURFACES AND SCORING FORMAT.

*FOOD IS NOT AVAILABLE AT MOST SITES. SOME SITES HAVE SNACK AND DRINK MACHINES. PLEASE PACK YOUR OWN COOLER ACCORDING TO YOUR PERSONAL NEEDS.

CHECK- IN

ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN AT YONAHLOSSEE RACQUET CLUB (HOST SITE) PRIOR TO THEIR FIRST SCHEDULED MATCH.

WEDNESDAY CHECK-IN IS ENCOURAGED FOR ALL PLAYERS WITH MATCHES SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY. PLEASE COME TO THE HOST SITE (YRC)BETWEEN 4:00PM AND 7:00PM TO RECEIVE YOUR PLAYER PACKAGE AND WRITTEN DIRECTIONS TO YOUR FIRST MATCH SITE. YOU WILL REPORT DIRECTLY TO YOUR MATCH SITE ON THURSDAY MORNING.

THURSDAY CHECK-IN WILL BEGIN AT THE HOST SITE AT 7:00AM.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT:

PLEASE ARRIVE AT YOUR SITE 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED MATCH TIME. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE SITE, CHECK-IN 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SCHEDULED MATCH TIME AND, IF ALL GOES AS PLANNED, BE ON COURT WARMING WITH YOUR OPPONENT AT YOUR SCHEDULED MATCH TIME.

A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST INCLUDING JUICE, FRUIT, CEREAL, AND COFFEE WILL BE PROVIDED AT YONAHLOSSEE RACKET CLUB BEGINNING AT 7:00AM DAILY.

YONAHLOSSEE RACQUET CLUB AMENITIES:
ALL YRC CLUB AMENITIES ARE AVAILABLE TO THE TOURNAMENT PLAYERS AND GUEST. THIS INCLUDES FITNESS CENTER, INDOOR POOL, HIKING TRAILS, ETC. ON- SITE SHOWER FACILITIES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ALL PLAYERS DURING THE TOURNAMENT (PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL). THE YONAHLOSSEE TENNIS PRO SHOP WILL BE OFFERING DISCOUNTS ON TENNIS CLOTHING, SHOES AND ACCESSORIES THROUGHOUT THE TOURNAMENT.

1. ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A NTRP RATING TO PLAY IN THIS TOURNAMENT
NTRP SELF-RATING All players need to have an NTRP rating prior to playing this tournament. If you do not have a rating, you can self-rate yourself


2. COMBO MIXED DOUBLES ELIGIBILITY
Mixed Combo 5.0-9.0 doubles with the players combined ratings not exceeding the combined NTRP level and with no more than ONE (1) point difference in players NTRP ratings.


3. FORMAT AND SCORING
The format for all divisions is FMLC (First Match Losers Consolation). All matches will play a 10-point match tiebreaker instead of a 3rd set.

4. PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY
It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated match times. PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS.



5. SEEDING
This tournament's seeding will be done in accordance with USTA Regulations. They will be compiled and examined by the Head Referee, Tournament Director, and members of the Tournament Committee. Factors to consider in seeding (taken from "USTA Friend at Court"): Seedings merely represent the Committee's subjective ratings of the various players' chances of winning the tournament. These ratings may not be based on whim, caprice, or hunches, but instead shall be justified by a reasonable amount of factual evidence, including, but not limited to, rankings, current records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head encounters. Two outstanding doubles players playing together for the first time should be considered for a place on the seeded list.

6. WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online. Click on "Edit Registration," then "Withdraw." You will need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals after "Entries Close" must be sent BOTH in writing via email (to the Tournament Director's address above) AND by phone to the tournament site. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

7. LIMITED DRAWS/EVENTS AND SELECTION PROCESS
Limited Draws/Events: Draws may be limited in some divisions. A player may enter up to 2 divisions but not in the same category (ex: two singles divisions) Selection Process: The top players applying from the USTA/NC most current standings list will be selected into the draw. The names of players who have been selected will appear as "Competitors."

8. JUNIOR AGE RESTRICTIONS
This Adult NTRP tournament allows Juniors to play. However, the Junior must be at least 18 years old before the start of the tournament. If you have questions about this, please contact the Tournament Director.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.

Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, July 18, 2018 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
