Thursday have been posted. If you do not have a scheduled match
time listed, your first match will be played on Friday. Any

National and NE "sectional" points: All doubles divisions
NE "designated" points: All singles divisions except 50's and 55's
which are "sectional" points
Tournament Dates: The duration of this tournament runs from
Thursday, September 6th to Sunday September 9th. Check-in will be
next to the flag pole near the outdoor porch and grass courts. If
we have rain, unplayable grass court conditions or scheduling
conflicts, we may have to play matches on outdoor or indoor hard
courts or clay courts. Three indoor courts at HOFTC are available
as backup as well as three outdoor hard courts.
Cocktail Party/Reception: A cocktail reception and party
will be held for ALL players on Saturday, September 8 at 6:00 PM in
HOFTC Member Lounge.
Registration Deadline: Online Registration will CLOSE
Friday, August 31 at 11:59pm (EST). To register after online
registration close, please call the pro-shop at 401-849-4777 or
email firstname.lastname@example.org; however entries cannot be guaranteed
after registration closes online.
Draw/Start Times: Draws will be finalized and posted online
by Monday, September 3 by 4:00pm. No refunds will be given once the
draws are posted. Singles draws will be limited to 16 players and
doubles draws will be limited to 8 teams. If the number of
applicants registered by the deadline in an event exceeds the limit
the tournament committee will select players and teams per adult
tournament regulation I.B.1. If there are insufficient registrants
in any event, registrants may be requested to play in a different
Surface: Grass Courts. (Back-up hard courts may be used in
the event of persistent rain and play on the grass courts is not
available.) Players, we appreciate your understanding that at the
end of our outdoor season in September, the condition of the grass
baselines and certain other positions on court will show the wear
and tear of a busy season of play on the Hall of Fame courts.
Tournament Attire: All players are REQUIRED to dress in
predominantly white tennis attire for the duration of the
tournament; as well as for practice courts. NO GRASS COURT
CLEATS/SHOES ARE ALLOWED.
Format- Format for main draw matches will be regular scoring
and best of three full sets. Consolation matches will be regular
scoring and best of three sets with a 10 Point Match Tiebreak in
lieu of a 3rd set. In case of inclement weather, other abbreviated
formats may be used, and severe weather may lead to cancellation of

size of the draw.
Location & GPS: Hall of Fame Tennis Club, Newport, RI.
GPS location is 19 Memorial Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840.
Parking: Player parking is available in the surrounding area
at the Hall of Fame Tennis Club. Street parking is available off
Freebody Street, Memorial Boulevard, and Chapel Terrace. The
Bellevue Parking plaza directly across from the main entrance of
the Hall of Fame is a pay per hour lot and the Hall of Fame Tennis
Club does NOT validate.
Referee: Roaming referees will be available for the
Practice Courts: Practice courts will be available for
players in the three days preceding the tournament. Practice courts
will be discounted 50% off the posted regular rate for players in
the tournament and can be booked directly with the Pro-Shop and a
credit card on file. Public hard courts are available for practice
at no cost across the street behind the CVS at the City's Pop Flak
Prizes/Other: Prizes for winners and finalists will be Slam
special prizes. Consolation winners will receive other prizes.
Players will be provided free Hall of Fame Museum passes with a
discount offered for non-player family and friends.
Tournament Hotels: Lodging will typically be at a premium
for this period in the season. The tournament does not have a
special discounted rate with any specific area hotels. There are
many area hotels in Newport and Middletown along with Bed and
Breakfasts that can be researched through
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Friday, August 31, 2018 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
