Welcome to the 28th year of the Atlanta Senior

Hotels: Tournament Hotel-Spring Hill Suites Marriott -Buckhead
**Newly renovated Spring Hill Suites Marriott at 3459
Buckhead Loop, NE, Atlanta, GA 30326 is the tournament hotel. This hotel is
about 5-10 minutes from Cherokee Town Club depending on traffic. ASI players
rate will be $122.00 plus tax per night for a “King or Queen/Queen Suite” rooms"
with complimentary breakfast and wifi for overnight guests. Note: Parking not
included. There is a hotel shuttle that runs to a limited area that is on a
first come first serve basis. HOTEL RESERVATIONS must be made by the players
individually. The ASI block for the
tournament is for May 9 - 12, 2018. All reservations must be accompanied by
a first night room deposit or guarantee with a major credit card. Players may

Tennis Attire at the ASI Tournament:
TENNIS ATTIRE: ALL players will be required to wear collared tennis
shirts. T-shirts and sleeveless shirts will be NOT be allowed on the court for
practice or play. Shirts with Graphic writing are not allowed other than small
brand logos. Tennis attire & tennis shoes will be expected for play.

Entries and Deadlines:
Entries will be done through the on-line tennislink registration
system at www.USTA.com. Registration is open to all eligible USTA members.
Entries must be submitted by April 26, 2018 for SINGLES and DOUBLES. Only USTA
members can register online if available. The final selection of entries will
be made by the ASI Tournament Committee. The online DEADLINE for entries will
be Thursday, APRIL 26, 2018e at 11:59 p.m. If you are interested in playing
DOUBLES you must sign up and pay for doubles by the deadline. You can sign up with your doubles partner by Thursday,
May 5, 2018 by 5 p.m. by emailing or contacting Beth (you must be registered
and paid online by April 26 or have contacted Beth). Contact Beth at bclay@cherokeetcc.org before
April 26 so we may post it on the website that you are looking for a doubles
partner. Note: if you pay for doubles and do not find a partner you will be
refunded your ASI entry fee for do
Doubles.

TIME- Matches and Traffic:

The first match times are listed under Tournament Reports. PLEASE report at least
30 minutes prior to your start time and give yourself extra travel time in the
Atlanta .USE WAZE it
does help.

Tournament Selection and MATCH Times:
The Tournament Committee will list players for
the tournament beginning May 1 if not sooner. Players may inquire about their
match times online beginning Friday, May 4 after 4 p.m. There will be an effort
to post sooner if possible. Players may email bclay@cherokeetcc.org or call
404-237-5427 if needed but times will be posted online.

PlayerCheck-In:
Check-in the day of your match at Cherokee Town Club (CTCC) unless told
by Tournament Director that you can go to first match site before coming to
Cherokee. Please note you must come to Cherokee to get your player packet.

Entry Fee:
First event fee is: $91.88 per player singles OR doubles--- Second event
fee is $65.00 per player. NOTE: You are charged a processing fee by the USTA
that has been added to the entry fees. IF you are put into the tournament AFTER
the online deadline for singles or doubles or are batched in - the ENTRY FEE
will be $91.88 for the first event and $65.00 for the second event. (This is
for the entry plus the processing fee by USTA)

EntryDeadline and Late Entries:
Late entries will be accepted to help players find a doubles partner if
they need one and the draw is not full. Email bclay@cherokeetcc.org until May
5, 2018. Send name, division, and usta number. Players will not be put in the
tournament without a valid usta number.
|
Age Groups:
The age groups for the men's events will be: 30sd, 35sd, 40sd, 45sd,
50sd, 55sd, 60sd, 65sd, 70sd, 75sd, 80sd and father/son open division. Please
let Beth know if you are interested in playing in the Father-Son Event as your
3rd event at bclay@cherokeetcc.org.

Number ofAllowed Events:
Players may ONLY
enter two events, but may ONLY play in one singles event. *Players may play in
a third event if that third event is the Father-Son Event. You must contact the
Tournament Director if this is your third event. Players are asked to play in
their appropriate age group. A player is eligible for specified divisions
provided he attains that age by December 31, 2018. There will be a “first match
losers” consolation for the singles tournament. There will be third and fourth
play-off for both the singles and doubles events.

refunds will NOT be given once the draws are made. Thank you!

Draws, Times and Locations:
The “Doubles Events”
may start on Thursday, May 10 starting as early as 1:00 p.m. depending on size
of draws. Please register at Cherokee 1 hour before your first match unless
approved by the Tournament Director.
**Depending on the number of entrants/size of the draw in a particular
division will determine if the top seed will have to play before Thursday. PLEASE
check draws. Singles Draws will be posted on Saturday, May 5 after 1 p.m.

SEEDING:
Seeding will be posted by Tuesday, May 1. Seeding will be
posted for each of the age groups for player input. The seeds can be accessed
by clicking on COMPETITORS and then selecting the event you are interested in
prior to draws being made.
|
Time Requests:
Please notify the Tournament Director – Beth Clay
of any time/day requests by April 26, 2018 or they will not be considered.
Please note that all efforts will be made to “try” and honor the time requests
as long as it does NOT affect the continuation of play of the tournament. There
is NO guarantee that time requests will be honored. Please note that if your
time request is such that you cannot play at all on certain days and you are in
an age group that will play starting Wednesday or Thursday then you need to
reconsider entering the tournament. If you have any questions please contact
Beth.

CourtSurface and Inclement Weather:
Events are
scheduled to be on clay. Events, as required due to inclement weather, may be
played at night, on hard courts and/or indoors at available facilities.
|
Balls and Scoring:
The Wilson US OPEN regular felt ball will be
used. Scoring for all matches will be 2 out of 3 regular set scoring and a 7-point
tie break used in any set at 6 all. Consolation Format will be 2 sets and a
10pt Tie Break in lieu of the third set**The Tournament Committee reserves
the right to change scoring in case of inclement weather. The Point Penalty
system will be enforced. Roving umpires will be on site at all times.

All players are required to sign a waiver of
liability before play.

May 13 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Town Club. (Spouses/guests may
purchase lunch for $20.00)
ASI Player's Welcome Cookout: Friday, May 11 at the Tennis
Pavilion 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.
