5/21 Tuesday: Play Moved to Lifetime
Good morning. Well, it's raining. :) If we don't start play by 9 am we run the risk of not finishing the tournament today. We are going to need to go ahead and make the move to Lifetime for all remaining matches. Lifetime does have a handful of outdoor courts available if it dries up and you would rather play outdoors. Please remember there is a court fee for indoors. The B16 doubles matches will be played at 9 am at Lifetime. I will update all other match times online as quickly as possible. Despite your scheduled time, if you show up and check in early we will put you on as quickly as possible. We know there are flights to catch.

WEATHER UPDATE - 5/20/19 12:25pm
Thank you for the quick response today moving indoors and playing early at Westwood. I think completing a round of doubles and singles today is a big win for the tournament. As you know, we couldn't put any matches on later than 11:30 am today. This is due to the Level 10 Severe Weather Threat in the area. Players, parents, and coaches had to be allowed enough time to get to a safe place after the completion of their match. This decision was made in consultation with the national junior competition office.
I have updated Tuesday times for Westwood Tennis Center online. You can refresh your draws and check those times. If it does rain, we are working on an alternative schedule and we do have indoor backup available.
***The Girls and Boys Quarterfinal Playoffs may potentially move to 9 am once we see our situation after Westwood completes this afternoon. If you are in the QF Playoff and your time moves earlier, I will contact you. ***
The tournament staff and USTA is urging you to be at either the Embassy Suites or your hotel absolutely no later than 2 pm. They have emergency procedures in case we run into tornadic activity.
The Westwood Tennis Center pro shop will close at 1:30 pm. If you need to reach someone urgently, contact me at 405-413-7357 (cell).

IMPORTANT - TIMES & SITE ADJUSTMENTS Updated 5/19/19 8:45pm
Well one of the best things about running tournaments is that you are never bored! The University of Oklahoma just officially closed its campus for tomorrow, including all their facilities. This means that we have lost both outdoor and indoor usage at OU tomorrow for our tournament. I am redoing the times for tomorrow and will be posting them shortly online. I will email again once all the data entry is completed and double checked. In the meantime, I am asking for your help. If your son/daughter plays tomorrow (doubles and/or singles), please email me that you received this message and know to check their times later tonight. If I do not hear from you, I will be trying to personally call or text you and there are a lot of you. Summary: NO matches will be played at the University of Oklahoma tomorrow. Please check times later tonight after my next email.

DRAWS UPDATED - 7:58 AM
The sites and times (1st ROUND SINGLES ONLY) have been updated online on the draws. Please refresh your browser, and recheck your site and time again. I just finished spot correcting any mistakes so please refresh and double check your draw even if you a saw an updated time earlier. Please note that these times are just traditional block scheduled times based on the indoor availability that the facilities told me that they had. We are working around their schedule. These times are not a promise that you will go on the court at that specific time, it is an estimation. Please show up and check in early for your match. Please also be patient if we are running behind. We are grateful for indoor facilities letting us use their courts. Reminder to bring $10 per match. Exact change is extremely helpful. We may attempt to play 2 rounds of doubles today depending on how the singles matches run. Email sent regarding 5/19 Weather
Good evening L2 Participants - First of all, David, Marc, and I want to thank you guys for your patience and cooperation as we barreled through 3 rounds of the singles backdraw today to catch up. It was a lot of tennis and I know a lot of people didn't get the opportunity to play doubles today, but I think the move was a good one. Especially with the forecast for tomorrow. Most forecasts had predicted weather in the afternoon on Monday. This is why we bumped the boys to OU and moved matches earlier to get them played before it hits. Now some weather experts are saying we could wake up to rain. We are watching this closely and I have sketched out Plan B times utilizing the 4 indoor facilities that we used on Saturday. Please know that if it rains in the morning, we will make a decision very quickly. While we don't have many matches, we are mindful of the severe weather and want to get as many players finished as early in the day as possible. We are very appreciative of the indoor facilities helping us out again. Please remember that we do owe them a $10 per person court fee per match. We will have some change from Saturday, but if you have exact cash, that is appreciated. I am hopeful the weather holds off and we get more outdoor play in tomorrow morning. Please check the tournament homepage notes for updated weather information if it is raining tomorrow morning.

5/20 MONDAY SCHEDULE CHANGE DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST *PLEASE READ*
Good morning everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather outdoors. We have been keeping up to date with the forecast for storms tomorrow, as well as the severe weather threat. Initially, on Day 3 (Monday), we were scheduled to have everyone playing at Westwood Tennis Center in the morning. However, we feel the need to move matches up earlier and get as much played before the storms are predicted to hit. The University of Oklahoma has graciously given us access to their facility again for the boys tomorrow. See notes below: *** Refresh your apps and check the draws for any updated times and sites for both boy and girl players*** BOYS DOUBLES QF ROUND, BOYS MAIN DRAW QUARTERFINAL ROUND, BOYS CONS 3RD ROUND have all been moved to OU and times have potentially changed and moved earlier***BOYS DOUBLES SEMIS & BOYS MAIN DRAW SEMIS, AND BOYS CONSOLATION QF ROUND will remain at Westwood Tennis Center but times may be earlier***GIRLS MATCHES REMAIN AT WESTWOOD TENNIS CENTER but times may be earlier Friendly reminder on emergency procedures should we encounter severe weather: EMERGENCY PROCEDURE FOR SEVERE WEATHER

WEATHER UPDATE - 7:30am
After consulting with USTA National Junior Competition office, we feel it is imperative to the tournament to complete at least one round of singles today. With the lightning, rain this morning, and potential for more rain this afternoon, the tournament must be moved indoors today to complete a round of singles. In addition, we are hopeful to get a round or 2 of doubles played indoors today. We are using 4 different indoor facilities for indoor backup. Reminder: Please bring $10 cash for each match. In order to most clearly help players understand their newly assigned time and facility, we will be updating the FIRST ROUND ONLY of the singles draw to reflect the new times and sites. Please check back for that updated information. This will take a bit of time to do.
