Tournament Information
TOURNAMENT INFORMATION This tournament is a USTA National Selection Tournament Level 2 points, and will have a 32-player singles draw and 16 team doubles draw. The tournament will begin on Saturday,May 20th and will finish on Monday May 22nd. The singles draw has a Feed-In Consolation (FIC) that feeds players in through the Round of 16. The quarterfinal losers of the main draw will be fed into a separate draw to playoff for 3rd and 4th place. The FIC shall be played to completion. The FIC shall be considered part of the tournament and participation is mandatory for all singles main draw players. - All singles and doubles draws shall have a playoff for 3rd and 4th place. All players are required to play the third and fourth place playoff. - Doubles is single elimination with a playoff match for 3rd and 4th place. Players are expected to play and complete all scheduled matches. Please plan accordingly and be prepared for Monday matches, if necessary. If you know now that you cannot play on Monday, do not sign up for the tournament.

If you don't provide an e-mail address and/or telephone number when you register for this tournament we will be unable to notify you about any important changes that may occur in the tournament.
INDIVIDUAL FIRST MATCH TIMES A list of INDIVIDUAL FIRST MATCH TIMES will be posted on this site by Wednesday, May 17th 12 p.m. There will be a link above (under Tournament Reports) with a list of all first round match times. When first match times are posted we will also post instructions for making practice court reservations. WE WILL NOT TAKE ANY PRACTICE COURT REQUESTS UNTIL FIRST MATCH TIMES ARE POSTED.
DRAWS The DRAW will be posted on Friday, May 19th 7:00 p.m.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY Saturday – rd of 16 doubles, rd of 32 singles, rd of 16 singles, 1 rd FIC Sunday – QF doubles, FIC, QF singles, FIC, SF singles, SF doubles. Monday – FIC SF and 5/6 playoff finals, Singles finals and 3/4, FIC finals. Doubles finals and 3/4 playoff TBD.
SCORING FORMAT The Main Draw and FIC scoring format is two out of three sets with a Match Tiebreak (first player to 10 points - must win by 2) in lieu of a full third set, with advantage scoring. A player will be entitled to a three-minute rest period after splitting sets and before playing the Match Tiebreak. IMPORTANT- These rest periods (ten-minute or three-minute) are the only times during any match where coaching is allowed. Doubles scoring format is 6 game Pro Set with a 7-point Tiebreak at 6 games all, No ad Scoring.

PRACTICE COURTS Outdoor practice courts will be available Friday Evening, Saturday, Sunday and Monday and Tuesday mornings 1 hour before the first matches. There will be limited indoor practice courts available during match play each day. One court will be reserved for players with upcoming matches, 30 minute limit and up to 4 players per court for $5 per player. Additional indoor courts may be available for reservation and free outdoor courts will be available. All indoor courts will be $20 per hour and paid at the time of reservation. There will be no practice court reservations until after the first match times are released. Pro warm ups may be available, please contact the tournament director as early as possible to schedule as pros and courts are limited.
DRESS CODE Players are expected to wear appropriate tennis attire befitting a top-level National tournament, during all matches.
TOURNAMENT BALL The Wilson Regular Duty Hard Court Ball will be used for all matches, the balls will be provided.
PRO SHOP, STRINGING SERVICES The tennis center has an award-winning pro shop, Advantage, that offers professional stringing, racquets, shoes, apparel and other tennis-related items. The pro shop will be open during tournament hours. NOTE- Personal stringing machines are not allowed in the tennis center buildings, or in the outdoor tennis complex.
TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWAL INSTRUCTIONS All tournament withdrawals prior to the entry deadline must be done on this site ((see Edit Registration). For all tournament withdrawals after the entry deadline, please call Talaya Schilb 989-859-8059. We will also need an email with the written description of the withdrawal, sent to Talaya Schilb at tschilb@greatermidland.org. The written withdrawal must include player name, USTA number, a detailed reason for the withdrawal, and a phone number. All withdrawals for injury or illness will require written verification from a medical professional to be received by the Tournament Director no later than noon on Monday, May 22nd , 2017. All withdrawals because of personal emergency will require a written description of the situation to be received by the Tournament Director no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017. There will not be any refunds issued for withdrawals received after the selection process has been completed.
