USTA RELEASE AND WAIVER
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for
every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament
registration. Please download and bring this completed form with you. You can also scan and email to tennismobile@gmail.com or fax
to (251-208-5195) to speed up the registration process. Players are
not allowed on court without this signed release:

MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN:
Mandatory means just that. We are staying until 8:30 pm for your
convenience. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by
that time. Only the player can check him/herself in, do not send someone in your place. For those of you who "just cant make it by that time" need to do the following and please do not call and ask for permission to miss check-in:
1 - Make sure your entry fee has been paid.
2 - Email (tennismobile@gmail.com) or Fax (251/208-5195) in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed.
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time to check in. Please be patient
with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and
off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to
the tournament.
4 - Those of you playing 8:00 am matches at the Mobile Tennis Center
will need to be on your assigned court at 7:45. Make sure you allow
yourself plenty of time.
For most of the day on Saturday we will only have one person checking in players for the
tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this
is not enough to check in everyone 30 minutes before their match times.
If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be
penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse
for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5
people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play
your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a
line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will
be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of
you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers.
Thank you for your cooperation.

PRACTICE
MTC - Mobile Tennis Center, 851 Gaillard Drive 36608 (Main Site and Only Site) - Site opens at 6:30 am
Friday - all 60 courts will be open for practice at no charge for participants at the Mobile Tennis Center - First come/First Serve, No reservations. If you come before noon, please check in at the desk and ask where you may practice. After noon, you may practice on any open court.
Saturday through Monday Mobile Tennis Center (MTC) courts will open at 6:30 am. From 6:30-7:45, you may practice on any open court, first come first serve. Ask someone to join you for practice if you see they do not have a practice partner. There will be 4-12 open courts all day during the tournament for practice. Check at the tournament desk for practice court numbers.
If you need a Hitting Pro, please contact Mckenzie Courtney directly. Her number is 251-366-6858. You will pay for your time with her at the city desk prior to your lesson. You should ask for a receipt to show Mackenzie you have paid. The city desk will tell you what court to go to. The cost is $45 for an hour, $25 for a half hour.
|
MATCH CHECK IN PROCEDURES
1 - The first matches of each day will report directly to the court at
7:45, and balls will be on the court. The court assignments will be posted on the big Court Assignment board. Matches should begin promptly at
8:00. We call this a "Shotgun Start"
2 - In most cases for all matches after 8:00 am, please get in a single-file line at
the tournament desk about 15 minutes before your scheduled match
time. You must go to the
bathroom, fill your water bottle, etc. and be ready to go on court
before you check in. When using block scheduling, we may use the shotgun start for matches after 8:00 am. Listen for announcements throughout the day regarding match check in. 3 - Once you have checked in, you must stay where instructed until
we tell you the court assignment. 4 - We will be watching the clock for lateness. Please do not ask if
your opponent has checked in - you have other things to think about.
The staff and the Referee will take care of lateness issues, you need
only worry about your own timeliness.

Tournaments, except USTA International Tournaments that are governed by the ITF age eligibility

ENTRY PROCESS
Players must enter using
TennisLink Registration. When
registering on TennisLink, players MUST indicate their preferred site or sites in priority order.
Players are asked to list all sites to which they would be willing to travel. Multiple Singles Entries Allowed. When entries close, a
player may be entered in up to two age divisions of up to four USTA National
Level 2 Tournaments.
Player Must Enter and Play Same Division in Doubles as
Singles. A player may not enter one division in singles and a different division in doubles at sites where
two divisions are held. Permission to Enter Other Concurrent Tournaments. When
tournaments are asked to give prior written approval to enter a USTA National Level 2 Tournament and a
concurrent tournament that is not a USTA National Level 2 Tournament, that discretion
continues to lie with the tournament. (In other words, you cannot enter a National Level 2 and a different USTA tournament held on concurrent dates, without written permission from both tournament directors. Violation of this rule could result in suspension points.)
|
TOURNAMENT SELECTION
Selection Process. The TennisLink selection program shall
select players into a USTA National Level 2 Tournament in the order in which their names appear on the
most recently published National Standings List of the division. Selection in Descending USTA National Level 2 Tournament
Division Order. The TennisLink system will select players for these divisions in the following order:
18s, 16s, 14s, and 12s. If a player is entered in two age divisions and is selected into the older division,
that player shall not be eligible for selection into the younger division. If a
player is not selected for the older division, that player is eligible for
selection in the younger division and is eligible to be an alternate in the
younger division, but not the older division.
Automatic TennisLink Notification. The players and their
acceptance status will be published to the TennisLink Tournament Home Page no later than 3 days after
the entries close. All players accepted by the TennisLink system will be sent a
confirmation email that includes as part of the text of the email the USTA Release
and Waiver Form. Any accepted player whose credit card was unable to be charged
will also be sent an email notifying them of the problem with the credit card
and instructing them to contact the tournament to make arrangements for
payment. Note: For this tournament, if there is a credit card processing failure; please call 251-510-0113 to make payment.
Site Assignment Final: Once a player has been accepted by
the TennisLink selection system into a USTA National Level 2 Tournament, the player shall not be
eligible for play in any other USTA National Level 2 Tournament held during the same time, unless specific
procedures to request a move to another site are followed. See “Player Requests to Change Sites
When Draws Not Full” below.
|
PLAYER REQUESTS TO CHANGE SITES WHEN DRAW NOT FULL
Procedure. A player may submit a written request to move to
another site within the same division if the draw at the requested site is not full, the request is
received by each Tournament Director no later than 10 days before the start
date of the tournament, and each Tournament Director involved understands the circumstances
and concurs in writing. This option is not available to an alternate who
accepts a position in a USTA National Level 2 Tournament.
Guidelines for Approving a Request to Move to Another Site. In order to effectively and consistently implement this new regulation, the Junior Competition
Committee has established guidelines to be used by USTA National Level 2
Tournament Directors. The guidelines are listed below.
Note: All references to Tournament Director or Tournament
Directors refers to the Tournament Directors of both the site from which the
player has requested to be changed and the site to which the player has requested
to be changed.
• Each Tournament Director shall require a player to make a
request to change sites in writing (email or fax acceptable). The request
should include the reason(s) for wanting to change sites.
• Tournament Directors shall communicate with each other
regarding the player's request to ensure that there is no misunderstanding as
to which event the player is ultimately entered. Tournament Directors are
encouraged, if possible, to come to an agreement on the site change request.
• The Tournament Directors each must provide a written
response to the player. If the Tournament Directors have agreed to the site change request, the
Tournament Director of the site to which the player is moving shall also
contact the player by telephone to confirm the player's acceptance into the new
site.
• Tournament Directors shall consider a move from a lower
choice to a higher choice (based on the player's original site selection). In
order to verify this type of a request, please contact linkteam@usta.com and cc
Lew Brewer (lbrewer@usta.com).
• Tournament Directors shall consider a move to a tournament
site that is geographically closer to the player's home.
• Tournament Directors shall consider a move that involves a
family emergency.
• Tournament Directors shall make NO exception to the
deadline for requesting a site change (10 days before the start date of the event).
Requests Discovered to be Made in Bad Faith. If it is
discovered that a player's request is made in bad faith (i.e., they lied about the nature of their request)
Tournament Directors/Referees should treat the conduct as a violation under the USTA Junior Suspension
Point System - unsportsmanlike or inappropriate conduct on or off the court.
Entry Fee Refund & Repayment. A player whose request is
approved to move to another site shall be refunded the entry fee by the original site and
shall pay the entry fee to the new site.

ALTERNATES
Alternates Published by TennisLink. Players who have not
been selected after all four USTA National Level 2 Tournament draws have been
filled shall be placed in alternate pools at all concurrent USTA National Level
2 Tournaments for which the players indicated a preference by the TennisLink
selection system, except that a player that has entered two age divisions and
has not been accepted into the older age division will only appear on the
alternate lists of the younger age division. Because there are four concurrent
USTA National Level 2 Tournaments, there will be four different Alternate Lists
per division, one for each of the concurrent USTA National Level 2 Tournaments
in a division. It is possible for players to appear on up to 4 Alternate Lists. Ordered Alternate List. Each Tournament Committee shall
create an Alternate List by ordering the alternates for their site based on the players’ standing on
the National Standings List used to select players (not a list published on a
later date).
Late Entries. Late entries may be placed on the Alternate
List, but they are placed on the alternate list in the order received after
timely entries. Late entries received at the same time are ordered by lot.
Publishing the Alternate List. As soon as possible and no
later than 5 days after entries close, the Tournament Committee shall publish an ordered Alternate List
to the TennisLink Tournament Home Page. The list shall include all alternates. The order of players
on an Alternate List is NOT to be changed if new
National Standings Lists are published.
Player May Apply to be Alternate at Site Not Originally
Among Their Site Preferences. Players who are alternates at a particular USTA National Level 2
Tournament site MAY ALSO APPLY as a “Late Entry” to other USTA National Level 2
Tournament sites not originally selected as a site preference. These players
are considered late entrants at these new sites and are to be ordered as Late
Entries as instructed under Late Entries above. On-Site Alternates. On-site alternates are those players on
the alternate list who have come to the tournament site to be a last-minute replacement for a
withdrawing player. The Tournament Committee shall establish a procedure for checking in on-site
alternates and instruct players on the tournament
website. The procedure shall include the following:
• On each day in which alternates may be accepted into a
draw, any alternate desiring admittance must check in and be ready for play no later than 15 minutes
prior to the first scheduled match time of the event for which they are an alternate.
• The order of the alternates is based on the original
Alternate List published by the tournament, not a more recent National
Standings List, and not in the order in which the players check in.
On-Site Alternates may be admitted into the singles main
draw to replace withdrawing players until the completion of the first round of play. Any
player receiving a bye in the first round can also be replaced by an on-site
alternate in the second round because this player has not yet played a match in
the event. This does not apply to players receiving withdrawals or retirements
as these are considered matches won. OnSite Alternates may not play in the
Feed-In Championship unless they have first played in the singles main draw. Replacement of Withdrawing Players Before the Draw is Made. The Tournament Committee shall replace a player who withdraws with next highest remaining alternate. Replacement of Withdrawing Players After the Draw is Made. The Tournament Committee shall replace a player who withdraws, is defaulted, or is otherwise removed from the draw after the draw is made, but before the player’s first match with next highest remaining alternate, unless the Tournament Committee determines the player may remain in the draw. (See USTA Regulation III.B.6. These regulations allow for exceptions when a player has been defaulted for lateness, or has to withdraw from their first round for injury, illness or personal circumstance.) Accepting Alternates. As soon as possible after a withdrawal occurs, the first alternate is to be contacted and asked to confirm whether they are accepting a spot in the draw. A player must never be moved from the Alternate List in TDM into the Player List in TDM until a player has accepted because doing so will automatically remove that player from another USTA National Level 2 alternate list.
|
TOURNAMENT WITHDRAWALS
Tournament Withdrawals Before Entry Deadline. Before entries
close, a player may withdraw from a tournament. A withdrawing player’s credit card has not been
charged and therefore no further
communication between the withdrawing player and the
tournament is necessary.
Tournament Withdrawals After Entry Deadline. After entries
close, players are instructed to immediately contact a tournament if they need to withdraw. Bona fide
reasons for a withdrawal are illness, injury, and personal circumstances.
Players MAY NOT withdraw from one USTA National Level 2
Tournament site in order to gain acceptance into another site unless a draw is
not full. Specific procedures are in place for a player may submit a written request
to move to another site. See “Player Requests to Change Sites When Draws Not
Full” above.
All withdrawals for reasons other than illness, injury, and
personal circumstances, and withdrawals for injury, illness or personal circumstance without the proper
written notification are defaults and Code of Conduct Reports should be completed for each defaulting
player even though an alternate may take that defaulting player’s place in the
draw.
Written Notification Requirements for Withdrawals. In order
for a withdrawal to be bona fide and, if after the draw is made or after play starts, coded as
“Withdrawal” or “Walkover” on the draw sheet, the player must fulfill the following written verification
requirements:
• Injury or Illness Written Verification Requirement: If the
player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall deliver written verification of
the injury or illness from a medical professional to the Referee no later that the last scheduled day of the
tournament. If a tournament has a trainer on site, it is recommended that the trainer be asked provide the
written verification on site before the player
leaves the tournament.
• Personal Circumstance Written Verification Requirement: If
the player is not playing because of a personal circumstance, the player shall
deliver a written description of the situation no later that the last scheduled
day of the tournament and the Referee shall determine whether the situation is
a personal circumstance.
Refund of Entry Fees. A Tournament Committee is only
required to refund a player’s entry fee if:
• the entry is not accepted;
• the withdrawal is for previously authorized entry into
another tournament; or
• the withdrawal is for an authorized change by the player
to another site.
In all other cases (such as withdrawals for illness, injury
or personal circumstances), a refund is not required.
