Draw Changes 5-8-13
This only affects the Girls draw. The USTA discoverd an error in the May national seeding list. It was corrected and recently published. The USTA required tournament directors to redo their draws. Therefore there have been some slight changes in the seeding and the draw was redone. Please check your draw for any time changes. Thanks.

Contact Information
Tournament directors do not have access to phone numbers and email addresses of the tournament participants UNLESS the player re-enters their contact information at the time of the event registration. This means that if a player does not enter their phone number and email information each time they register for a tournament, the tournament director will not be able to contact them for any reason, including withdrawals, defaults, etc. Your cooperation will ensure that the tournament directors can continue to communicate necessary information to all of the tournament players.

USTA Player's Release Form
All players and parents must complete and sign a USTA Medical Release form prior to match play. If a player is traveling without a parent, parents must send the signed release with the player. Please download the form and bring the completed form to the Tournament Registration desk or Player meeting. Additional forms will be available on site.

A one hour pre-tournament drill session will be held Friday, May 10 at 6:30pm on the outdoor courts at the Cooper Tennis Complex. There will be no instruction, or one-on-one competition during this session. The drill session is a great opportunity for players to get familiar with the tennis courts and meet other players. Lots of drills and games will be played. You may sign up by contacting the tournament director at Lhaugness@springfieldmo.gov. The cost is $20.00. If space is still available after May 9, players may sign up at the check in.

Warm-up Courts
The Cooper Tennis Complex will be open at 7:00am every morning to allow players to warm-up before their morning match. No reservations, first come first serve but please share the court. Other courts are nearby for later warm-ups. The Perry courts are 10 minutes away, at the corner of Bennett and National.

Match Play
Both main draw and FIC singles play will be the best of three tiebreak sets with a Match tie-break (10 points) in lieu of the 3rd set. There will be a mandatory 3-minute rest period after the second set before a 3rd set match tiebreak is played. Coaching may take place during this rest period. The FIC will be through the semis, not playing the finals. 3/4 playoff will be played. Doubles play will be an eight game pro-set with a Match tie-break (10 points) at 8-all. This will be single elimination with 3/4 play-off. The tentative schedule is to play two singles matches and one doubles match the first day. Everyday after that will play one main draw singles match, two consolation matches, and doubles play.
