***PARENT BEHAVIOR***
Between Friday and Saturday, too many reports of spectator interference in a match have come to our attention. It is unacceptable for any parent to speak in a negative way to any player whether on court or off. If this behavior occurs today, the child will get a code violation based on the parents behavior. This is NOT LIMITED to the duration of the match. We feel that after the match is just as important to the health and welfare of our participants. DO NOT TALK TO YOUR CHILD'S OPPONENT OR THEIR PARENTS AFTER THE MATCH IN A NEGATIVE WAY. If there is an issue please come and find Jonathan Barth or Meg Farrelly. Thank you for your cooperation.
|
Sunday 7:00am***
Rain delay- It is currently raining so we are going to tentatively start matches at 9:00am. We will update the website/send messages at 8:30am with an update.

FACTS FOR THIS TOURNAMENT
1. Every Player must register on Match Tennis App before 9am Friday. If you get a reminder and you have signed up thank you very much. The reason the reminders keep going out is others still need to sign up. All matches will be called to a court from a text you receive from this app. In order to keep tournaments moving forward this the mandate from Southern Section and the State of SC. https://www.matchtennisapp.com/baseapp/tourncheckin.html?tourn_id=41277&code=SC-41277&waiver=true
2. There will be NO water and ice on the court or at the site for players. This is the rules from USTA.
3. Please bring your own Chair and Umbrella for shade and to ensure social distancing. We are not trying to make this unwelcoming and are very happy you are joining us. But these are the rules.
4. Masks are required at all times when not on court. Players if you go to the restroom you must wear your mask. If you need an official both players will put on their mask before the official will go on the court. Parents please respect the players and help keep everyone healthy by wearing a mask when you are on site. We understand how annoying it is to wear the mask all the time but it is for the safety of everyone.
5. Ball procedure. There will be a ball table set up at the back door to the Roy Barth Tennis Center. The first match of each day will have balls on the court. Friday at 4pm, Saturday at 8 am, and Sunday at 8am. Every match after that the players will go to the ball desk to pick up their can of balls. After your match please bring your can with balls back to the ball desk. You will report your score at the same desk and both players will enter the score on the match app. The text you received telling you which court to report to has a link. if you tap that link you will find a screen to enter the score into the app. Players will have different number balls. If you need to write your initials on the ball to help keep them straight please bring a marker.
6.Unless you are a Family please do not gather in a group. WE ARE SO THANKFUL OUR FACILITY IS OPEN. With your help and understanding it will stay open.
7. The start times on Friday can not be changed. We are not trying to be difficult, but there are only so many courts and everyone is booked.
8. There are no warm up courts once the first matches start. The fact is that the USTA would have only allowed 2 per court and there is no way to provide that many warm up courts.
9.. Please make sure you come prepared with water, and other drinks to stay hydrated. The shops are not around the corner. There are many restaurants on the round-about before you head on to Kiawah Island, as well as a grocery store.
This sounds like a lot of taking away of things but we need to work together if we are going to move forward. THANK YOU for choosing to spend your time at Kiawah.
