Draws were posted on Thursday, June 25 at 1:00 pm. Seeding was done as per USTA reguations using the latest Southern rankings as of June 23, 2020.

COURT USAGE
The following matches will be played on the Clay courts: Boys 14 and 18; Girls 16 and 18. Matches on Hard Courts: All 10's matches; Boys 12 and Girls 12 and 14. The referee reserves the right to move matches to alternate courts in the event of weather delays.

WITHDRAWALS
ALL withdrawals must be emailed to the referee, Linda Sandusky at lsandusky@bellsouth.net., to be official. There will be no refunds for withdrawals made after the tournament entries close.

PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION THOROUGHLY. DUE TO PRESENT HEALTH CIRCUMSTANCES, THIS TOURNAMENT WILL BE CONDUCTED DIFFERENTLY THAN THOSE IN THE PAST.
USTA AND SPARTANBURG ATHLETIC CLUB GUIDELINES WILL BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED IN THIS TOURNAMENT!!! When you register your child, PLEASE sign up for communications from the tournament desk as we will be corresponding with you through that process. 1. ONLY PLAYERS AND ONE GUEST EACH WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE FACILITY. 2. Spectators will need to bring their own chairs as club chairs will not be available. 3. Seating for players will be available on courts. 4. After the match is over and players have reported the score, they will need to leave the facility until the next scheduled match. 5. Restrooms inside the club will be available but no non-members will be allowed to wait inside for their next match. 6. Social distancing will be enforced throughout the weekend.

USTA GUIDELINES FOR SAFE PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT. ALL PLAYERS MUST READ THIS!!!!
1. There will be racket taps between players at the net at the end of the match instead of a handshake. 2. Each player will receive a can of balls which will be used for two matches. 3. During the match, each player will use ONLY the three tennis balls belonging to him/her when serving. When Player A finishes serving, he/she will place balls back in the can and Player B will use his/her three balls while serving. 4. DO NOT pick up opponents balls--you must use your racket or racket and foot to pick up the ball and gently lob it or roll it back to the server. 5. There is to be no sharing of water bottles or food with opponents. 6. Each player MUST have his/her own water bottle or cooler for all matches.

SAC WAIVER
Spartanburg Athletic Club requires that ALL parents sign a club waiver before their child can participate in the tournament. Please report to the tournament desk with your child at check-in to sign the waiver.

MATCH PLAY MAY BEGIN AS EARLY AS 3:00 ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, DEPENDING UPON THE NUMBER OF ENTRANTS.

TOURNAMENT SURFACES
Spartanburg Athletic Club has both hard and clay tennis surfaces, therefore the tournament will be played on both. Divisions will be scheduled on one or the other surfaces for the tournament.

TOURNAMENT CHECK IN
Please check in 30 minutes before EVERY scheduled match. . BE SURE TO CHECK THE WEBSITE BEFORE REPORTING FOR EACH MATCH IN CASE SOMETHING HAS CHANGED. ALSO CHECK THE DRAWS BEFORE EACH MATCH FOR CORRECT TIME.

DRAW FORMATS
We will be playing a full modified feed-in. Any age division with 4 or less players will be a round robin. ALWAYS report to the tournament desk after each match, win or lose, to see if you have another match. ALWAYS check the draws online to be sure you have the correct match time.

AMENITIES
Each player will receive a souvenir from the tournament. Provisions for lunch on Saturday will be made available as well as individual snacks for the players.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries will not be accepted. The deadline for entries is Monday, June 22 at NOON.
|
AVOIDANCE REQUESTS
Avoidance requests cannot be accepted after entries close and will NOT be accepted for Saturday matches.

SC L4 PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Any player currently ranked in the SC standings in the top 10 in the 12's-16's age divisions must play up in the next age division.

10 and UNDER YOUTH PROGRESSION ELIGIBILITY
Please be aware that this tournament has two 10 and Under Youth Progression divisions: ORANGE BALL DIVISION AND GREEN BALL DIVISION. This means that in order to play in a 10 & Under singles event, you must be eligible for the corresponding level. If you are not able to register for a 10 & Under event, that means you are not eligible for that level. To find out more information, call PJ Fulmer at (803)781-2574.

BOYS' AND GIRLS' ORANGE BALL 10'S
Boys' and girls' 10's ORANGE BALL divisions will be played on a 60' court using a low compression orange ball. Racquet size is limited to 25" or smaller. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format as follows: 2 out of 3 short sets using NO AD scoring, first to 4 games (win by 2.) A 7-point tiebreak is played if players reach 4 all. If players split sets then a 7 point tiebreak is played for the 3rd set (win by 2.) THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2ND AND 3RD SET BREAK IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS.

BOYS' AND GIRLS' 10'S GREEN BALL DIVISIONS
Boys' and Girls' 10's Green Ball division will be played on a 78' court using a low compression green ball. Draw format will be determined by the number of participants. Scoring format is as follows: best of two short sets (first to 4 and win by 2 games) with a set tiebreak (first to 7 and win by 2)at 4-4 in each set. A set tiebreak (first to 7 and win by 2) for the 3rd set. They will use NO AD scoring at this level of play. For doubles, players will play 1 six game set, with a set tiebreak (first to 7, win by 2) at 6-6. THERE IS NO COACHING BETWEEN THE 2nd AND 3rd SETS IN THE 10 & UNDER DIVISIONS.

BOYS' AND GIRLS' 12's-18's DIVISIONS
Singles main draw and consolation will play best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set. AD SCORING WILL BE USED IN ALL 12's AND 18's DIVISIONS. If you split sets you are entitled to a 3 minute set break and on-court coaching is allowed. The player remains inside the fence and the coach talks to player from outside fence. If you leave the court you will forfeit your time to receive coaching.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player prior to their first match. No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, June 22, 2020 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
