We are one of those city facilities and it will take a little bit longer to get checks processed, but they have all been prepared and sent to City Hall. TOURNAMENT CANCELLATION UPDATE - JULY 14, 2020
Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, USTA Southern has canceled all Southern Level 1 and Level 2 events scheduled to be held now through August 31st.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. Withdrawals
After selections have been made, you must email cmills24@msn.com to withdraw. There are no refunds. Please make sure you get a reply back. If you do not get a reply, please call.

Late Entries
Our draws are full, but you may call to get on the alternate list. There is a $25 late fee added to your entry fee, you will not be charged until you get in the tournament. Please call 205-621-3380 to sign up for the alternate list.The late entry deadline is Tuesday, July 14th at 5:00 pm.

Extra information on procedures
In response to the COVID-19 social distancing requirements set by USTA Southern and to be consistent with other tournaments, players will not receive a tournament bag, coupons, or meals. You will also not be able to hang around after matches. Once arriving to the courts, you will sit in your car and check in through the Match App. From there you will receive your court assignments. After the match you will report scores from the app. You must bring everything you need for your match. We encourage you to bring your own supplies, chair, umbrella, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, mask and sharpies. Please do not forget a sharpie/marker so you can mark your tennis balls. Each match will receive 2 sets of tennis balls, they will be on your court when you arrive to play your match. Please pick up everything from your match as we are not able to keep items for the Lost and Found. Anything left on the court will be thrown away.

Communication
Communication will be key for this event. Please check this page for updates frequently. You will have to sign up for the Match App to play this event. You will have to complete the waiver through the Match App once competitors are selected. Please be careful when entering phone numbers to make sure they are entered correctly. Please enter all phone numbers of people you want to receive the tournament messages. We are looking forward to this event! We are sorry we will not be able to offer what we normally offer for tournaments, but we hope you enjoy playing.

Tournament Directives
1. If you do not feel comfortable playing tennis - DO NOT PLAY. Only play if you are comfortable playing. Each person is responsible for his or her own safety during these unknown challenging times. Please BE SAFE. 2. If you are sick with any symptoms at ALL, DO NOT ATTEND OF PLAY A MATCH!
Ultimately, however, it is up to each player and/or parent to decide whether to participate in any event. Further, every player is expected to take all reasonable precautions to protect themselves from the risk of exposure.

Facility Rules
Please follow our policies and procedures, this is how we were allowed to open so it is very important to us. There is no ice or water on grounds. You must bring your own cooler with ice and sports drinks/water. We do not have towels or cups to provide. There is no snacks or food, you must bring your own. We ask that you bring your own chair to play your match and we also recommend that spectators bring their own chair. There are no chairs on site. The building is limited to only 15 people per time. The first floor clubhouse restrooms are limited to 3 people at a time. Please form a line outside. There is access to the second floor restrooms by the outside door only. We also have set of bathrooms on the third tier courts. There is hand sanitizer available all over the grounds. The facility will be cleaned on a regular basis as well as benches on court. Please continue to check back for updates.

Weather policy
We are unable to house everyone in the clubhouse if it rains or storms. When the officials give notice, please enter your scores as well as what side you were on into the Match App and then go to your car.

Player Registration-Selection-Seeding
In order to register players must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one the nine states of USTA Southern, whose geographical boundaries are determined by USTA Southern. All players must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens. USTA Southern office will provide the tournament director with a Selection List for the tournament that will be used to select players. This list will be a result of the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists. Seedings will also be completed using the most up to date Standing Lists in numerical order.

Practice Courts
Players may practice for free on the 5 hard courts at Pelham Racquet Club. They are on a first come first serve basis. 2 players per court. You can also go to Pelham Tennis Center (315 Ball Park Road, Pelham, AL 35124), there are 9 hard courts there and they are on a first come basis also.

Draw & Scoring Formats
The Draw format will be modified feed in consolation (MFIC) with Curtis Consolation. If player entries are low then this draw format may be modified. The Scoring format is as follows: Main Draw & Consolation are 2 sets and if split sets a 10 point tie-breaker is played in lieu of the third set.

Draws will be posted by July 16th at 5:00 pm.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 5, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
