FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES TO ENSURE YOU'LL RECEIVE COURT ASSIGNMENTS VIA TEXT
>When setting up your Match Tennis App account, all family members should sign in with the same user name and password.
>Make sure you opt for allowing notifications so court assignment messages are received.
>In the contact information section, make sure you add three DIFFERENT contact numbers THAT WILL BE ON during the tournament. They all should be cell numbers since messages will be in the form of texts. When you are called to court, all your contact phones will receive the message.
> If you need to add or change contact numbers go to “My Account” in Match Tennis App and click “Completed Waivers” to add or change contact numbers.

In response to the COVID-19, we will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk technology to help facilitate CDC best practices.
In order to compete in this event, all competitors MUST click the below link to fill out the check-in form, and sign the waiver for this tournament.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches, and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where the social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. Doubles has been canceled due to COVID-19 distancing requirements. All messages below that reference doubles. lunches or shirts no longer apply.
Singles will start on Saturday morning and conclude on Tuesday. If you have already registered for doubles, you will not be charged.
SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone is required to wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS to make tournament as safe as possible!
The items listed below by bullet points are in place to help reduce COVID-19 risks, but items 1 and 2 are the fundamental points that all players and parents must follow.
1. If you do not feel comfortable playing tennis- DO NOT PLAY. Only play if you are comfortable playing. Each person is responsible for his or her own safety during these unknown challenging times. BE SAFE.
2. If you are sick with any symptoms at ALL, DO NOT ATTEND OR PLAY A MATCH!I
Ultimately, however, it is up to each player and/or parent to decide whether to participate in any event. Further, every player is expected to take all reasonable precautions to protect themselves from the risk of exposure.
The following requirements are in place for all players and parents at this tournament in order to make it as safe as possible for everyone:
>Participant has not traveled out of the country in the 14 days prior to the tournament.
>Participant has not been experiencing a cough, difficulty breathing or a loss in taste/smell at the start of the tournament.
>Participant does not have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above at the start of the tournament.
>Participant has not been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the tournament.
>Participant agrees to not participate in the tournament if they become sick at the start of the tournament.
>Participant agrees to exit the facility immediately upon completion of their match and reporting of their scores.
>Participant agrees to maintain a six-foot distance from all other persons at the tennis center, except when they are competing in a match.
>Participant agrees NOT to use the facility’s water fountains and ice machine.
>Masks are now required for all participants and spectators when at the tennis center and not competing in a match.
>Should inclement weather delay match play, participant agrees to shelter in their vehicle, NOT in the tennis center building.
>As a parent of a participant, I agree to abide by the same restrictions as noted above for the participants.
>As a parent of a participant, I understand that my child’s temperature may be taken if they begin to show signs of illness during the tournament, and I must pick them up immediately if their temperature is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above.
The tennis center will employ added staff to clean between matches and disinfect surfaces touched by players and attendees.

What you should bring to the tournament:
MASKS ARE REQUIRED for all participants & spectators when at the tennis center & around those who don't live in your household unless you're playing a match.
>PLAYER PLUS ONE ATTENDANCE.
>Westgate Tennis Center is known for its hospitality under normal tournament circumstances. However, in response to the COVID-19 social distancing requirements and to be consistent with the other Southern Level 1A tournaments, players will not receive a t-shirt or lunches. Nor will they be allowed to sit under the on-court shade shelters. Basically, it's 'check-in/play match/report score/leave' tennis.
>Players must bring everything they will need including their own water, sports drinks, food, ice, and towels. There will be no water on the courts and you will not have access to the drinking fountains or ice machine.
Items that players and their chaperone should bring for safety and distancing: YOUR OWN SEATING, UMBRELLAS FOR SHADE, disinfecting wipes and spray, hand sanitizer, and masks. THERE ARE NO CHAIRS ON SITE.
>Players must bring A BROWN SHARPIE AND A BLACK SHARPIE. At the beginning of the match, the official on court will open two cans of balls, one for each player. Each player will mark their own tennis balls with the agreed color. Players will only pick up their own tennis balls.
>Players must remove all of their belongings from the courts when the match is complete and be sure to place any garbage in the cans. We will not keep our normal lost and found of shirts, wristbands, water jugs, etc. Any items left on the court will be thrown away.
Format is subject to change based on number of entrants.
Singles 64-draw will have a Feed-In Consolation through the Round of 16 (FIC-R16) with a Quarterfinal Playoff. Quarterfinal losers will be put into a separate draw and play for 5th and 6th places. There will be a 3/4 playoff. There will NOT be a 7/8 playoff. Consolation finals will be played.
SCORING FORMAT B/G 12'S
Singles: 64-draw limit. Main draw, Consolations and Playoffs will play best of three tiebreak sets with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set, ad-scoring.
TENTATIVE playing schedule is based on 64 draw size in singles.
Saturday – 2 rounds main draw singles, 1 round consolation.
Sunday – 2 rounds consolation singles, 2 rounds main draw singles.
Monday – 2 rounds consolation singles; SF, F and 3/4 playoff main draw singles.
Tuesday – 2 rounds consolation singles (SF & F). Due to the limited availability of play this year with the pandemic, we will play out the consolation finals allowing players to receive additional national points.
THIS PLAY SCHEDULE may be changed/altered due to inclement weather or as determined by the tournament director.
Selecting Two Age Divisions
Players may register for two age divisions in this level tournament. Players that do register for both age divisions will automatically be selected for the older age division, and they will be removed from the younger age division. Players not selected to either division will remain on the alternates lists for both divisions. Players are obligated to play the first division they get into from the alternates list. Players will be removed from the alternates list in the other division at this point when they get into the tournament. Once a player is selected for any division, no changes are to be made.
Draws, seeds and first match times will be published by 3:00 pm Thursday, August 27.
Selection & Seedings
USTA Southern office will provide the tournament director with a Selection List for the tournament. These are the results from the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists in the order in which the player appears on the list.
WARM-UP is available each morning at WTC (20 courts) from 6:00 am - 7:15 am. At that time, grooming begins for matches.
>No warm-up courts at WTC during the day.
>Two hard court facilities are available throughout the day across town.

Awards will be presented in Singles for Champion(s), Finalist(s), 3rd through 6th places. Sportsmanship awards will be presented to one B12 and one G12.
Dunlop balls will be used for all matches.

A variety of strings are available. However, to be sure you have what you need, we recommend you bring your own string.

Birth Certificate or Green Card
All players must have a BIRTH CERTIFICATE or GREEN CARD on file with the USTA Southern office for proof of citizenship.
If players want to verify that their birth certificate is on file, call the Southern office or email Simon@sta.usta.com.
Must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one of nine states of USTA Southern, whose geographical boundaries are determined by USTA Southern. Legal residency for juniors is that of his/her legal supporting parent(s). Individuals must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens.
This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. citizens, Permanent Resident Aliens, Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA regulation III.A.2a.
LATE ENTRY INFORMATION & DEADLINE
Tournament registration closes Sunday, August 23, 2020 11:59 PM (Central Time).
After registration closes, if the draw is not full, we will accept late entries within the following guidelines.
>Players signing up for a Southern tournament as a late entry will be charged an additional $25 fee.
>Late entries will be processed on a first come - first serve basis.
>Late entries, taken after the seedings are completed, that invalidate those seedings are NOT allowed.
If the draw is full, any late entry will be placed at the bottom of the alternate list subject to the above guidelines.
Late entries will be taken until Tuesday, August 25, 2020 5:00 PM (Central Time).

In 2000, Westgate Tennis Center became the most decorated Tennis
Center in America when it won multiple national awards. Annually
since 2001, it has been the home of a prestigious women's
professional circuit event. This modern facility features 20
lighted Har-Tru courts, all with shade shelters. Spectators can
enjoy viewing from atop the 3500-square foot clubhouse or a
centrally located, elevated berm.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 23, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
