TOURNAMENT LOCATION CHANGED TO AUBURN, AL
If for some reason you can’t make it to the event since it’s location is being changed YOU MUST withdraw your player from the tournament. Complete this withdrawal by going to the EDIT REGISTRATION box to the right and click on the word “Withdrawal” In order to have confirmation of your withdrawal please email the tournament director at bpeterson@auburnalabama.org and request a confirmation, he will reply with a confirmation email.
ALL WITHDRAWALS MUST BE DONE BY SUNDAY AUGUST 30th BY 5:00pm CST, otherwise you will remain in the event, and YOU WILL NOT receive a refund, and you risk any applicable penalties.

>When setting up your Match Tennis App account, all family members should sign in with the same user name and password. >Make sure you opt for allowing notifications so court assignment messages are received. >In the contact information section, make sure you add up to three cell phone numbers THAT WILL BE ON during the tournament. When you are called to court, all the cell phone numbers that you listed will receive a text message. > If you need to add or change cell phone numbers go to “My Account” in Match Tennis App and click “Completed Waivers” to add or change numbers.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS to make tournament as safe as possible!
The items listed below by bullet points are in place to help reduce COVID-19 risks, but items 1 and 2 are the fundamental points that all players and parents must follow. 1. If you do not feel comfortable playing tennis- DO NOT PLAY. 2. If you are sick with any symptoms at ALL, DO NOT ATTEND OR PLAY.
The following requirements are in place for all players and parents at this tournament in order to make it as safe as possible for everyone: >Participant has not traveled out of the country in the 14 days prior to the tournament. >Participant has not been experiencing a cough, difficulty breathing or a loss in taste/smell at the start of the tournament. >Participant does not have a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above at the start of the tournament. >Participant has not been in contact with anyone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to the tournament. >Participant agrees to not participate in the tournament if they become sick at the start of the tournament. >Participant agrees to exit the facility immediately upon completion of their match and reporting of their scores. >Participant agrees to maintain a six-foot distance from all other persons at the tennis center whenever possible, (this does not apply to players when they are competing in a match). >Masks are required for any player/parent when less than 6 feet from someone outside their household, and at anytime they are inside a City of Auburn building. >Should inclement weather delay match play, participant agrees to shelter in their vehicle, NOT in the tennis center building. >As a parent of a participant, I agree to abide by the same restrictions as noted above for the participants. >As a parent of a participant, I understand that my child’s temperature may be taken if they begin to show signs of illness during the tournament, and I must pick them up immediately if their temperature is 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or above. >Only one person will be allowed inside the fenced tennis enclosure with a player, and this person must respect the 6 foot social distancing requirements at all times when at the tennis center
The tennis center will employ added staff to clean between matches and disinfect surfaces touched by players and attendees. There will be NO FOOD served at the tennis center to players, and there will be NO T-SHIRTS given out to players.

What to bring to the tournament:
>MASKS for anyone that will be onsite at the tennis center >Players must bring everything they will need including their own water, sports drinks, food, ice, and towels. There will be no water on the courts and you will not have access to the ice machine. >Players must remove all of their belongings from the courts when the match is complete and be sure to place any garbage in the cans. We will not keep our normal lost and found of shirts, wristbands, water jugs, etc. Any items left on the court will be thrown away.

Practice on Friday and hit with a Tennis Instructor/Pro
All tournament players may practice free of charge on the Yarbrough Tennis Center clay courts the day before the tournament. Call 334-501-2920 and ask to reserve a clay court (say that you are a tournament player). You can hit for up to 90 minutes and the tennis center is open until 9:00pm on Friday night.
If you would like to hit with a tennis instructor/pro then send an email to bpeterson@auburnalabama.org and you will be sent a list of pros/instructors that will hit with you for $25 for 30 minutes. You will use their cell phone number from t =he list to set up the time to hit.

WARM UP prior to match
The only warm-up location provided by the tournament will be the warm-up prior to the match on the clay courts. Players may NOT go to the hard courts nor indoor courts at Yarbrough Tennis Center to warm-up. These hard courts are areas isolated for the AU tennis teams and for the local public players and this separation must be maintained to assure the correct practices for COVID-19 prevention. Any tournament players found in these areas will immediately be escorted out and repeat violators risk being disqualified from the tournament.
In order to allow appropriate warm-up time players will be allowed an extended period of warm-up prior to their match

We appreciate all of the players/parents that are staying in Auburn. As this tournament was just moved from Dothan we are working with our local hotels to assure availability and rates - as soon as more information on specific hotels recommended is available that will be placed here on the tournament page.

Doubles has been canceled due to COVID-19 distancing requirements.
Singles will start on Saturday morning and may continue as late as Tuesday. If you have already registered for doubles, you will not be charged.

SCORING FORMAT B/G 12'S
Singles: 64-draw limit. Main draw, Consolations and Playoffs will play best of three tiebreak sets with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third set, ad-scoring.

Draws, seeds and first match times will be published by 3:00 pm Thursday, September 3rd

Selection & Seedings
USTA Southern office will provide the tournament director with a Selection List for the tournament. These are the results from the most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standing Lists in the order in which the player appears on the list.

Dunlop balls will be used for all matches.

A trainer will be available at Yarbrough Tennis Center throughout the tournament
David Hume will be the stringer for this tournament, contact him by text to 334-559-3059. He has a variety of strings available; however, to be sure you have what you need, we recommend you bring your own string.

Birth Certificate or Green Card
All players must have a BIRTH CERTIFICATE or GREEN CARD on file with the USTA Southern office for proof of citizenship. If players want to verify that their birth certificate is on file, call the Southern office or email Simon@sta.usta.com.

ELIGIBILITY
Must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one of nine states of USTA Southern, whose geographical boundaries are determined by USTA Southern. Legal residency for juniors is that of his/her legal supporting parent(s). Individuals must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens. This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. citizens, Permanent Resident Aliens, Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA regulation III.A.2a.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 23, 2020 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
