USTA Georgia "Road To Master's Championship"
This is a series of nine (9) Georgia Level 4
Championship tournaments we have grouped together and fashioned into the
"USTA Georgia Road To Masters Championship". This will be set up and
players will accumulate their regular points assigned to them by the
USTA Georgia and they will also gain points toward qualifying for the
season ending Master's Championship held in Norcross, directed by Tennis
Dynamics and One-Love Tennis. We have put this series together with the
hopes of creating a special set of local tournaments granting great
incentives and awards for these tournaments. Ultimately, players will be
competing to win a spot in the season ending "Master's Championships"
held in November of 2019.
At the current time we are still working out details but here are some of the particulars we currently know:
* A separate ranking database will be set up by USTA to keep track of
the participation and points for the Road series of Championship
tournaments. It will automatically calculate the totals. It may or may
not be ready before the second tournament in the series. Players will
get points for singles and they will get points for the person they play
doubles with the most.
* We do not know yet how many points
will be awarded for the wins and losses in each event toward the
Master's event. As soon as we know we will post to our websites
associated with each tournament.
* The selection for the
finals Masters event will be based on these point totals and not based
on the any other criteria. The best 8 players per age group will be selected based on their results in
the "Road" events.
* Ties will be broken by giving the edge to the players who participated in more tournaments/events in the series.
* Players can qualify for the singles or the doubles events based on the number of events they have entered.
* Trophies will be awarded at each event as per USTA Georgia
guidelines. We will also award to the winners of each division at the
end of the regular season 9 tournaments awards.
* Winners
of the regular season in each age group and division will win an extra gift before heading into the Master's event in November of 2019.
* The Master's event will take the best 8 players into the final event.
