We do not keep your credit card information.
Once Online Registration has closed, you can still email to register, withdraw or make changes to doubles. The players listed without a partner name, have not indicated one to me. The sooner you provide us with accurate doubles information, the sooner we can prepare and post the Doubles Times. Thank you for your cooperation. YOU MUST PLAY DOUBLES IN THE SAME AGE DIVISION THAT YOU ARE PLAYING SINGLES IN!
DOUBLES PLAY WILL BEGIN FRIDAY 08/03/18 AT 5:00 PM. AT LEAST TWO ROUNDS WILL BE PLAYED ON FRIDAY EVENING.
If you do not have a partner and want to be randomly paired, you must email email@example.com to notify us that is your intention. If you have not emailed by Tuesday 07/31/18, you will be removed from the doubles competitors list.
For clarification, randomly paired means the tournament director has the discretion to pair you with whomever needs a partner. Due to withdrawals, a random pairing might change.
WE WILL ACCEPT LATE ENTRIES ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS, VIA EMAIL - firstname.lastname@example.org EMAIL IS THE ONLY WAY TO COMMUNICATE FOR LATE ENTRIES.
FORMAT OF PLAY:
Singles 64 Draw: In the Round of 16 players will feed into a Curtis Consolation. Consolation will go through Monday. Scoring for Main Draw Singles (12-18’s) is Best 2 of 3 Sets
Scoring for Singles Consolation is a Tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
Doubles 32 Draw: Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff
Scoring for Doubles is an 6-game Set.
IT BEARS REPEATING - ALL PLAYERS IN THE SEMIFINALS OF DOUBLES WILL PLAY AGAIN, EITHER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR THE 3rd/4th POSITION!
MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN:
Mandatory means just that. We are staying until 9:00 pm for your convenience. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by that time. For those of you that "just cant make it by that time" need to do the following and PLEASE DO NOT CALL:
1- Make sure your entry fee has been paid - check the Tournament Entry Fee Report when posted.
2 - Email in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed to email@example.com.
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.
On Saturday we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this is not enough time to check in everyone 30 minutes before their match times. If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5 people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers. Thank you for your cooperation.
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is firstname.lastname@example.org. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No refunds after 7/19/18 . Refunds will only be given with proper documentation and valid excuse and may take 4 weeks to process. See procedures below for receiving a refund.
Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE PHONE! If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.
One trainer will be on site at the Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club during matches. By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus Medicine, Epi Pens, etc. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest you see the trainer. If you need to withdraw due to injury or illness, the process will be much smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Without confirmation, or a written doctors excuse by the end of the tournament, you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you withdraw during the tournament, you must see the Head Referee in person or it will count as a "No Show."
Please note: The trainer has a lot of ground to cover with on-court issues and many people to see off the court. They are not there to give massages due to limited time and lack of privacy; but, they will advise you on various techniques you or your parents can do. Also, there is a science to applying Kinesiology Tape due to a specific diagnosis. Without the diagnosis from a doctor, the trainers will not apply this type tape. If you require this type tape due to a pre-existing injury, please learn how to tape before the tournament.
USTA SOUTHERN SEEDING:
Seeding shall be done using only the results from most recently published USTA Southern Combined Standings Lists of the division in the order in which players appear on the list.
TENNIS PARENT ALERT AND JUNIOR MEDICAL RELEASE FORM:
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament registration. Please download and bring this completed form with you or email to email@example.com to speed up the registration process. Players are not allowed on court without this signed release
In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow "The Code"
If you have never read it, please do so
Must be a resident of USTA Southern. This is defined as individuals who have established a legal residency in one of the nine states of USTA Southern whose geographical boundries are determined by USTA Southern. Legal residency for juniors is that of his/her legal supporting parent(s). Individuals must be United States citizens or permanent resident aliens.
All players must have a copy of a Birth Certificate or Green Card on file with the Southern office. Players should go to the link below to see if their name is on file. If your name does not appear here please Fax your birth certificate to 770-368-9091 or e-mail to HARRELL@sta.usta.
REFUNDS AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES:
If you withdraw before registration closes, your credit card will not be charged.
If you withdraw after registration closes, you may be eligible for refund. A player shall not withdraw from a tournament after entries close except for illness, injury, or personal emergency. A withdrawing player shall immediately notify the Tournament by email(firstname.lastname@example.org) that the player will not be playing.
If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament.
If the player is not playing because of a personal emergency, the player shall provide a written explanation of the situation to the Referee no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. The Referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. FYI - a personal emergency does not include "my parents can't get off work" or "I have too much homework" or "I can't miss school".
In order to receive a refund, you must notify the tournament immediately of your withdrawal, no later than Thursday 7/19/18. Then, YOU MUST MAIL IN A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE with your written medical excuse or emergency explanation. You must also include the exact "Payee" name the check is payable to. This must be received by the last day of the tournament which is 8/6//18.
You will receive suspension points if you do not have a documented medical excuse or a written explanation of a personal emergency.
Our best advice to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules before registration closes. Thank you for your cooperation.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, July 15, 2018 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
