Monday 10:00 am Update
5th & 6th PLAYOFF and CONSOLATION have been cancelled for the rest of the day. I'm sorry. I wish we could have played but we don't have access to enough indoor courts to do it all. Everyone please be careful going home.
|
Monday 9:00 am Update
3rd & 4th PLACE PLAYOFF MATCHES will be scheduled to play on the covered courts at Abilene Country Club starting at 12:30 pm. Please check the draws online for your specific match time. 5th & 6th PLAYOFF and CONSOLATION matches are still delayed. The next update for these matches will be posted at 10:00 am.

Monday 8:05 Weather Update
All MAIN DRAW FINALS are going to be played at Abilene Country Club under covered courts. 9:30 am matches and the 9:45 am match will all go on at their scheduled time. We only have access to 4 courts so the next rounds of main draw finals will not go on until 11:00 am. I will change match times and site on the draws. We are waiting until 9:00 am to make the final determination on consolation matches.
|
Monday 6:15 am Weather Update
All 8:00 am matches are delayed until 10:00 am. As of now, all other matches are at there scheduled time.
|
PLAN FOR MONDAY MORNING
We will try our best to play all matches tomorrow. Unfortunately the determination for cancelling any matches can't be made until 8:00 am Monday morning. If the courts are dry, even though it will be cold, we will still play at the scheduled times and sites. If courts are wet but it's not raining, we will delay start times to see if courts will dry. If it is raining and doesn't show signs of stopping, then consolation may be cancelled. If this happens, we do have access to 4 covered courts and will be able to play all main draw finals only. I will update further at 6:00 am Monday.

New Withdrawal Penalty for Super Champ Level Tournaments
There will be no penalty for withdrawing from singles or doubles prior
to Wednesday, November 7th at 12 Noon for Super Champ Level or Major Zone
events. After that time, if a player withdraws from singles and/or
doubles, they will be penalized 2 suspension points for the withdrawal.
This includes any withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements after
Wednesday, November 7th at Noon until the end of the tournament. The
maximum penalty is 2 points per tournament. You will not be penalized
twice for singles and doubles withdrawals. If a player does reach the
suspension threshold, they will be able to appeal any points at that
time.

IMPT: Monday Withdrawal Rule to Keep Ranking Points Remains in Effect in 2018 - Please Read
Players are required to inform the tournament desk or tournament
director the day before of their intent not to complete their matches on
the last day of the tournament. This must occur no later than 6pm
Sunday for singles draws that end on Monday. It also can be done within 15 minutes of
completing their final match of the day (whichever is later). For
this tournament, all players must inform the site or
tournament director by Sunday at 6pm for Monday (11/12) matches. The director will inform
the opponent immediately of any withdrawals. Players who pull out after
Sunday at 6pm will have their match coded as a withdrawal and
will receive no points for their wins in that tournament. If a player
gets injured or ill after that 6pm deadline and they think it's
important to "keep their ranking points" they (the player) will need to
physically show up on Monday morning and pull out in person
in order to have that match coded a walkover and retain their points.

Doubles Registration
Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a
partner must indicate their partner through the online registration
system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly
identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process
or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit
Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles
registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after
registration, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they
are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also
registered with them). Remaining individual players will be paired up
based on the order of the Texas Standing List and will have their email contact shared with their partner. There will be a 24 hour
doubles pairing period after the deadline for players to correct any
errors in their doubles registration.
|
Doubles Process and Tournament Timeline
For doubles, if one player in a team withdraws, the partner will have
until Wednesday, November 7th at 12 Noon to find a new partner. After
Wednesday at Noon, if the remaining player is left unpaired, they will
be removed from the draw. After the Noon deadline, teams will be
re-seeded into draws based on the updated combined Super Champ Standing of the
final teams. Any withdrawal made after Wednesday at Noon results in the
entire team being withdrawn. The Wednesday 12 Noon deadline gives the TD
time to adjust both singles and doubles draws prior to the Thursday
6:00 PM draw posting.
