CRABEL 2016 MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 12 top singles players and 8 outstanding doubles teams will be invited to compete in a Round Robin format for the entire week at Mission Hills CC. Players may be selected from the winners and finalists of our four Nationals, and the remaining spots will be filled by wildcard players that demonstrated exceptional performance as judged by the USTA all-factors method during 2017. Players as a minimum should have played at least one major United States 60s National event in 2017 and have a history of other exceptional play.
The doubles requirement is slightly different as we invite teams although and in some situations we may invite a qualified player to complete a partnership. The play requirement is the same for singles and doubles
We will start play on the exceptional Grass courts at Mission Hills on Monday, November 27th at approximately 10 am, The singles champion will have to win seven matches against the best players of 2017.
The tournament will follow the format developed for the ATP final in London. Players and teams will be divided into two divisions and play a match within their division each day against every player in their group. The two players in each group with the best results will then compete for the title In addition to the prestige of competing in the event there will be $25,000 of prize money donated by Crabel Capital and spread among all the payers based on results. The minimum payout for singles should be $750 per player and doubles should be $900 per team.
The tournament also will provide mini suites at the Marriott Residence Inn for players who request accommodatio. We expect that this event should be the highlight of this or any other senior tournament in the world. There should be great tennis, camaraderie, gifts, dinners and an opportunity to compete in a superior match daily.
