alternates - I have had no withdrawals from the main draw in your
division. If I do, I will contact players immediately in order of
the alternates list posted on the tournament homepage. You also can
chose to be an on-site alternate in case there is a no show. If you

* Both of
our clubs have Cafes that sell water, sports drinks, snacks and lunch
items. We have ice machines but ask that you fill your coolers at
home or your hotel as our ice machines do not produce enough for ice
chests so please be thoughtful of others. There are areas to fill
your containers with water as well as water jugs on court.
* A quick reminder it is very
important for players to check-in on time for ALL matches and stay within
the area to hear their name called. None of us like giving out
penalties but must apply the same standards to everyone in fairness to all
who participate in the event in abiding by the rules set forth by the
USTA. It is equally important for those on the sidelines to abide by
the behavioral expectations of a junior sporting event.
times for the second weekend will be posted after the first weekend is
complete. The times are usually available online by Monday evening.
* Weather is predicted to reach the low 90's over the weekend. Please take measures to hydrate before, during and after your matches. There is a lot of good information on heat and hydration on the USTA website:
Draw Size and Format: The singles draw size shall be limited to 64 players and up to 4 wild card may be awarded. Alternates will be ordered using the most recently published NorCal Ranking List of the division. Selection will be done by USTA NorCal staff. FIC through R16 with 3rd/4th playoff and a playoff for 5th/6th and 8th.
Match Format: All matches are best of 3 TB sets.
Events with Limited Draw Sizes. When an event has a limited draw size, Late Entries are placed on the Alternate List after timely entries in the order they are received. Late Entries received at the same time are ordered by lot. If accepted from the Alternates List, a player will be notified via email if a spot becomes available. If offered a spot, players will be given a short amount of time to respond and will be required to provide credit card information for entry fee processing.
Before entries close, players must withdraw themselves online via the registration process. After online entries close, a valid reason for withdrawal must be given. Valid reasons per USTA are injury/illness (medical note required) or personal emergency (explanation required). Medical notes need to be provided via fax or email anytime before the tournament concludes to avoid penalties associated with improper withdrawal.
Proper tennis attire and non-marking tennis shoes required.
