Sportsmanship Award
Arlington Tennis Center tournament staff and officials selected one player out of the 468 who entered this tournament to receive the Sportsmanship Award: Anna Carstens of Rockwall, TX. Anna was chosen to receive this honor because of her outstanding behavior on and off the court. On court, Anna was always respectful of her opponents and kept a positive attitude during her matches. Off court, Anna had great interactions with other players, tournament staff, facility employees and officials throughout the tournament. As the Sportsmanship winner, Anna will receive a scholarship to John Newcomebe’s Tennis Ranch.

B&G 10s Racquet Rule
As of July 2012 (last year), USTA Texas began requiring all B&G 10s Orange ball players to play with racquets NO LONGER THAN 25", regardless of the players' height/size . Players in the B&G 10s Orange ball divisions will not be allowed to compete with racquets longer than 25". BE PREPARED! Arrive early and with the right-sized racquet to avoid being disqualified from your match! By USTA Texas regulation, ORANGE BALL PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN THE TOURNAMENT IF THEIR RACQUET IS LONGER THAN 25".

Warm-up Courts
- Warm-up courts will NOT be available at match locations once matches begin each day.
- Courts will not be open at sites before 7:30 AM each day.

Withdrawals and Refunds
Withdrawals
- Withdrawals cannot be done on line after the deadline.
- Withdrawals after the deadline must be submitted to atc@arlingtontx.gov, with a valid reason specified. The player's name will still appear on the Applicants list (which is locked after the deadline), but will be removed from the Competitor list. Include player's name, gender, age division and color of draw (if applicable) in the email.
- Withdrawals will be reflected on-line through 8:00 AM, Friday, July 5, 2013.
- LATE WITHDRAWALS MAY NOT BE POSTED ON-LINE. We will attempt to contact opponents, but we may not be able to do so in every situation, particularly regarding withdrawals late Friday or early Saturday.
- If withdrawing late (after 8:00 AM Friday, July 5), please be considerate of opponents and notify ATC in writing AND via phone BEFORE the tournament begins Saturday morning, as email may not be read "instantly" late Friday, early Saturday or once the event starts.
- If withdrawing AFTER 7:00 AM SATURDAY, JULY 6, you MUST email atc@arlingtontx.gov AND call ATC at 817-459-6163 AND SPEAK DIRECTLY WITH THE REFEREE. Do not leave a withdrawal message with tournament staff. They will not take your withdrawal information.
Refunds
- The tournament staff does not have access to the credit card information used for registration. Refunds after the deadline (and when eligible) will be via check from the City of Arlington and may take several weeks to receive.
- Refunds are not made for withdrawals one week or less before the start of the tournament (June 29 or later).

Match Check-in
- Be sure to check the draws on line (when available) before your first match. Players may withdraw after the draws are posted. We will attempt to notify players by email if their opponent has withdrawn. Players are responsible for obtaining their match times from the on-line draws.
- Check site and location times carefully.
- Players must check in with the site directors at scheduled first-match sites 15-30 minutes prior to the scheduled match times.
- Players do NOT need to come to Arlington Tennis Center before they play their first match unless they are scheduled to play their first match at ATC.
- There is no grace period for lateness. Do not be late!
- When players check in for their first match, they should give the site director a cell phone number at which they can be reached during the tournament (e.g., parent).
- Remember, players must check themselves in for matches (not parents, coaches, etc.).

Eligibility
This tournament is for all non-qualified Texas resident junior players and Championship level junior players who are in their LAST TWO MONTHS of age eligibility. Players may only compete in one ZAT per month. Players may compete in only one event (Singles only). See Junior Know the Rules and Junior Know the Rules: 10 and Under for more information.

Entering the Tournament
- No faxed, phoned, mailed or emailed entries will be accepted.
- All players must enter this event on-line through the USTA's TennisLink registration system.
- Players will receive a confirmation from TennisLink at the end of their on-line registration process.
- All issues with on-line registration should be directed to
linkteam@usta.com.
- Junior players should also enter phone numbers and email addresses for each tournament entered (and for each player if more than one child in a family is entered).

Deadline
The deadline for this tournament is Sunday, June 23, 2013, 11:59 PM. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. No exceptions will be made regarding the deadline, including for last minute technical issues, out of town travel, etc. Please do not expect TennisLink to respond instantaneously to technical problems in the last few minutes before the deadline. Registration Issues
ALL REGISTRATION ISSUES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO linkteam@usta.com, NOT ATC. To confirm your registration, see the Applicants before the deadline. Your name should appear shortly after you register (remember to refresh your browser). If you are still unsure about your registration, contact linkteam@usta.com.

Applicants & Competitors
- Players who enter on-line will appear on the list of Applicants.
- You should receive a confirmation from TennisLink shortly after you register on line. If you do not, and your name does not appear on the Applicants, email LinkTeam@usta.com.
- Before the deadline the Applicants list is the most up to date and should be used to confirm your entry.
- If you withdraw after the deadline (but before the draws are posted), your name WILL STILL APPEAR on the Applicants list. We cannot remove your name from the Applicants list after the deadline.
- After the deadline (within 24 hours), the Competitors list will reflect players who are entered in the tournament. However, as this list is manually uploaded only periodically, check the Applicants list before the deadline.
- Reminder that the Competitors list is subject to change due to eligibility verification and withdrawals (prior to draw completion).

Substitutions
Substitutions are not allowed in ZATs. Waiting lists are not allowed for ZATs.

Players Who Qualify
- Players who qualify may enter the first Championship Major Zone scheduled in the month after qualifying.
- This regulation does not apply to regular tournaments offering a Championship event.
- To enter an "other" tournament (not a Major Zone or Sectionals), entries must be submitted and the entry fee received by the tournament deadline.

Withdrawals
- If you are withdrawing before the deadline, select Edit Registration from the right column, and Withdraw. You do NOT need to email ATC if you are withdrawing BEFORE the deadline.
- WITHDRAWALS AFTER THE DEADLINE ARE REQUIRED IN WRITING. Email

Draws B&G 12-18s
- ZATs draw sizes are a maximum of 32 for B&G 12-18s
- Seeding includes information from the latest available ZAT Standing Lists and information from USTA Texas on requalifying players who are in the last two months of age eligibility and who are in the top 50% of eligible players.
- If age divisions have more than one draw (e.g., Red, White, Blue), seeds are distributed evenly throughout the draws using the 'wave' method.
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players IN THE FIRST ROUND ONLY who are from the same town (when possible).
- Draws will be posted Tuesday, July 2, by 8:00 AM.

Draws B&G 10s
- Divisions with three or four players will be Round Robin. Divisions of six to eight players will be split into draws of three or four players and be held as Round Robins. Divisions of nine to 16 players will be held as first match loser consolation, with 'first off' scheduling for Consolation.
- B&G 10s are not seeded.
- Draws are computerized, but an effort will be made to separate players IN THE FIRST ROUND ONLY who are from the same town (when possible).
- Draws will be posted Tuesday, July 2, by 8:00 AM.

Format B&G 12-18s
- Format for all ZATs in B&G 12-18s is no ad scoring, with two tie-break sets and a 10-point match tie-break for third set.
- FIRST MATCH LOSER CONSOLATION IS REQUIRED (no round robins for 12-18s). IF YOU LOSE YOUR FIRST MATCH, YOU WILL PLAY IN CONSOLATION. DO NOT LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT OR 'NO SHOW' IF YOU LOSE YOUR FIRST MATCH!
- ZATs do not use Round Robin formats. Draws will be held if at least two players enter a division.
- Consolation in ZATs will use the 'first off' format. Seeding becomes null and void in ZAT consolation.
- B&G 12-18s will take a three-minute set break if they split sets. Players MAY leave court, but they must be back on court within the three-minutes. Players may receive coaching during the three-minute break.
- Players will NOT receive new balls for third set match tie-breaks.

Format B&G 10s
- Format for all B&G 10s best of three four-game sets (first to win four games by a margin of one
game) using no-ad scoring seven-point tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set (first to win seven points by a margin of points).
- FIRST MATCH LOSER CONSOLATION IS REQUIRED FOR DRAWS OF 9-16. IF YOUR DRAW IS NOT A ROUND ROBIN, AND YOU LOSE YOUR FIRST MATCH, YOU WILL PLAY IN CONSOLATION. DO NOT LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT OR 'NO SHOW' IF YOU LOSE YOUR FIRST MATCH!
- Consolation for draws of nine-16 in B&G 10s will use the 'first off' format.
- B&G 10s Orange will play on 60' courts. B&G 10s Green will play on 78' courts.

Officials
- Susan Wertenberger is the Referee for this tournament.
- All officials for the Arlington Tennis Center ZAT are certified by the USTA.
- The USTA Code of Conduct and the Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.
- Remember, THERE IS NO GRACE PERIOD REGARDING LATENESS, INCLUDING FOR FIRST ROUND MATCHES.
- B&G 12-18s: If you have issues on court than cannot be resolved, GET AN OFFICIAL.
- B&G 10s: Point Penalty System will not be used for B&G 10s. However, players may be removed from tournament play, at the discretion of the site official, due to unsportsmanlike conduct.

Sportsmanship
One player will be selected who exhibits outstanding Sportsmanship throughout the tournament, both on and off the court. The Sportsmanship award is a scholarship to attend a camp at John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch.

Awards B&G 12-18s
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and Consolation in each draw for Boys' and Girls' 12-18s.

Awards B&G 10s
B&G 10s will receive medals for 1st and 2nd, and either Consolation or 3rd, depending on draw size/format.

Advance Planning
- Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot)
- Cell Phones: Please note that players may NOT use cell phones on court or at the tournament desk. Please turn them OFF. Spectators who use cell phones on the property should be mindful of whether their conversations interfere with tournament play (in which case, they will be asked to leave the area or turn the phone off) or normal business operations of the facility. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Dress Code: We ask that all players and spectators wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well. Players who do not dress appropriately will be asked to adjust their attire.
- Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts.

- Spectators: We welcome spectators for this event! However, spectators are not allowed on court at any time.
- Water: Water coolers are not placed on court at Arlington Tennis Center or on alternate site courts. If playing at Arlington Tennis Center, a commercial ice machine and water fountain are located on the west patio and players and guests are also welcome to purchase bottled water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop. In addition, while water may not be on the court at alternate sites, water will be available for players at those sites. Players are also encouraged to bring their own water to their matches.

Video/Photography
Videotaping/Photography: Personal videotaping and photography are not allowed at any site, except persons who are videotaping 'their' player (parent, guardian or person designated by the parent/guardian) from a non-distracting position off court OR persons designated by the tournament staff to photograph or videotape aspects of the tournament for use in print or on public websites. Personal videotaping equipment may not be affixed to any facility property, including fencing. The umpire or tournament staff may direct the videotaping or photography to stop if it is determined that the action is interfering or distracting to either player.
