covid club rules
Hi all, Welcome back to the first usta tournament in Northern California!!! We will be playing singles only in the month of August. During this time we will need to follow some social distancing protocols that will make this tournament fun for everyone!! No spectators are allowed to watch your amazing serve aces this time unfortunately. We will all wear a face covering in the viewing clubhouse during check in where no more than 4 players are allowed to be in the viewing clubhouse. Players will wear face coverings down to the courts and up from the courts to report their scores. after checking in if there are already 4 players in the viewing clubhouse then we will have some chairs 10 feet apart outside the viewing clubhouse. If you have a bit of a wait and you do not want to sit outside then you may go to your car and leave your window down. Luis will call your name when your match is on using a megaphone. no special rules for the balls or changing sides but we ask that you stay at least 6 feet away from your opponent during the changeovers. Please racket tap instead of shaking hands. A touch less hand sanitizer is located by the main entrance to the courts and various hand sanitizers are located on most courts. Good luck and have a great tournament!!!

Format
The Match format for this singles and doubles round robin will depend on the amount of matches played. Most likely you will play 6 game set matches regular scoring with a 7pt tie break at 6-6 if there are 4 or more players or teams. The draw format is round robin. If there are only 2 teams in an event we will host the event. in this case we will play a 2 out of 3 set match w a 10 point tie break in lieu of a third set instead of the 6 game set format. If there are 3 or less players then an 8 game reg scoring pro set with a 7 point breaker at 8all will be used.
Please sign up for doubles with a partner before the deadline if you wish to play doubles. You must have your partners usta # to sign up. This # can be found on the norcalusta website. We will most likely not be able to partner you up if you do not sign up with a partner but we will try..

Attention all players and alternates
Thank You for applying for the tournament! This is a limied draw/tournament director selection tournament. The selection process is determined by the usta. If you were not accepted then you were put on an alternate list and we will notify you if a spot opens up. You also will not be charged for your entry fee. This is a new tournament that was sanctioned this year. The problem with the usta sanctioning a new tournament and not a longstanding one is that we cannot prepare for the amount of players ahead of time. We hate turning any players away and would like to give the most amount of players an opportunity to play. The forecast looks good for the weekend so we should have a fun tournament! Please check your start time on friday just in case your opponent has withdrawn and your schedule changes!

In case of a rain out

However, if a draw affected by inclement weather has not begun by the completion of the sanctioned dates of the tournament, the draw will not be started after the final date.
