WELCOME! Please Read
We are excited to host the Midwest Closed Girls 14s this weekend. Lots of great tennis.
Some of you have been to Western for other tournaments . . . welcome back! Others, this is your first time at our club . . . welcome! I just want to go over a few items for everyone. Western is a family-owned, member club and we have members coming in and out for mostly fitness classes this weekend. Please keep your bags and gear out of traffic areas and away from the Front Desk. Please check-in (players and plus ones) at the tournament desk 15 minutes before your scheduled match. Players and plus-ones will receive a wristband for that day of the tournament. After your match, please leave the club as we are trying to limit the amount of people inside Western.
We have 9 indoor tennis courts: four in the front and 5 in the back. We will use 7 courts on Saturday until 10:30 am, then we will use 8 courts. Court 9 will be used for viewing beginning at 10:30 am on Saturday. We will use 8 courts Saturday (after 10:30 am) and Sunday and 4 courts on Monday. The good news is that you can spread out. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear your mask. Players may take off their masks for their matches.
There are a few outdoor public courts about 3 minutes from Western you can use for warmup. They are located on Midway. Midway is a cut through street between Glenway Ave and Queen City Avenue. It is suppose to be a beautiful weekend--in the 70s in Cincinnati this weekend.
We are not able to provide a stringer for you this weekend. Midwest Sports located in Sharonville has a great selection of string and are able to string your racquet quickly.
We have a great crew of tournament and on-court officials who have experience in all levels of tennis: national junior, college and pro tennis events. This will be a very competitive tournament and everyone must be on their best behavior.
The Midwest Section and all the tournament directors have worked hard to make sure we can have this event. We are grateful for everyone behind the scenes that have helped with this event and the other events across the Midwest.
Safe travels, good luck and again WELCOME!
Angela Farley Wilson General Manager Tournament Director
