USTA NC TOURNAMENTS POSTPONED:
Effective 3/13/2020 through 4/20/2020, USTA North Carolina is
suspending all USTA events due to the public health crisis of COVID-19. It is currently
our intent to reschedule postponed tournaments for dates later in 2020. For the

AGE RESTRICTION
This is an Adult NTRP tournament. Only players 18 & over on the day of the tournament are eligible to play.

RAIN POLICY
Tournaments that are canceled due to weather are to follow this rain policy: Divisions where play has begun - No Refund. Divisions where there was no play at all -partial refund after deduction for actual expenses. No tournament may be rescheduled without the approval of the Sanction & Schedule Committee.

NTRP SELF-RATING
ALL PLAYERS must have a computer rating, or a self-rating, prior to entering a sanctioned NTRP tournament. Players who do not have a current NTRP rating must self-rate and obtain an NTRP rating prior to entry into any sanctioned NTRP tournament. If you do not have a rating, you can self-rate yourself by:
1. Go to www.nctennis.com.
2. Click on TennisLink under Quick Hits on the right side of the page.
3. Log in to your USTA account or CREATE an account (right side of the page in RED) if you do not currently have one. Player will need his USTA#.
4. Click on "Self Rate" under the "Find NTRP Rating Info" search box.
5. Follow the instructions and answer the questions provided.
*If your minimum rating allowed is higher than you anticipated, make sure to click on the link to file a self- rate appeal.

Notes
The Tournament will be held at the renovated Smithville Park
in the town of Southport.
1. PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY
It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and
show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated
match times. PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES
PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. ALL USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED
FOR LATENESS.
2. SEEDING
This tournament's seeding will be done in accordance with USTA
Regulations. They will be compiled and examined by the Head
Referee, Tournament Director, and members of the Tournament
Committee. Factors to consider in seeding (taken from "USTA
Friend at Court"): Seedings merely represent the Committee's
subjective ratings of the various players' chances of winning the
tournament. These ratings may not be based on whim, caprice, or
hunches, but instead shall be justified by a reasonable amount of
factual evidence, including, but not limited to, rankings, current
records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head
encounters. Two outstanding doubles players playing together for
the first time should be considered for a place on the seeded list.
3. WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so
online. Click on "Edit Registration," then "Withdraw." You will
need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals after
"Entries Close" must be sent BOTH in writing via email (to the
Tournament Director's address above) AND by phone to the tournament
site. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be
refunded the entry fee.
