Important USTA 2021 Changes
The USTA will be launching a new, simplified nationwide junior tournament competitive structure in January, 2021. These changes will create a standardized system that will drive greater consistency for our players, parents, coaches, tournament directors and officials. These changes will help better address the needs of all our constituents with the goals of driving growth in USTA Junior Tournaments. MUST READ! COVID RULES and EXPECTATIONS!
If the player or anyone who will accompany the player has been exposed to
someone with COVID, please withdraw from the event. If the player is not
feeling well, or experiencing ANY COVID symptoms (see below), please withdraw
from the event. If you are a spectator and not feeling well, please stay home.
If you have an outstanding COVID-19 test, please advise tournament staff
immediately. (COVID symptoms-cough, sore throat, fever, chills, muscle
pain, loss of sense of smell or taste, fatigue, headache, congestion or runny
nose, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea and/or shortness of breath)
UIndy Clubhouse will be off limits and NOT accessible to players or their
family members between or during matches. Family members must wait in
their cars or hotels/homes prior to matches and between matches. The ice
machine will not be available for use and the water fountain will not be
functional.
Spectators may only use the bleachers on either end of the club to sit,
being mindful of social distancing. Benches located behind the curtains will
ALWAYS BE OFF LIMITS. Players will sit on opposite benches. Only the
player on side of scoring device will change the score on changeovers.
SPECTATORS WILL BE LIMITED TO 1 PER PLAYER so that social distancing may be
observed. Colored wrist bands will be used for spectators. IF you do not have a
wristband on, you will be asked to leave the premises. The USTA MIDWEST and
CITA have authorized giving suspension points if this is not followed.
ALL players and spectators MUST wear masks to enter the building and
court/spectator area. Hand sanitizer will be at the entry of the building
and must be used before entering. Temperature checks will be taken at the
front desk of players and spectators before being allowed to enter the court area.
Players may take off masks while playing but must wear masks upon finishing
match to exit the court area.
When match is finished, players do NOT shake hands. A touch of the racquets
is acceptable. Players should deposit their own used balls into a box that will
be provided.
UIndy personnel will be responsible for sanitizing the benches, scoring
devices, and net strap between each match.
Restrooms will only be available to players during their match, if
necessary. Restrooms will not be available to spectators. Please use the restroom
before arriving for your match.
Players will check in with the front desk at least 15
minutes prior to match time and wait until told to report to their court to get
balls.
All staff will wear masks and stay 6 feet from players. Officials on court
will stay 6 feet from players.
Players will report scores to the tournament desk and get next match times
before exiting the facility.

PLAYER SELECTION & SEEDING
This tournament will use a combination of USTA/Midwest Points Per Round and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order: 1 - 34 Players based on the most recent
USTA/Midwest Standings List in the age division of the tournament (District
Championship/Qualifier results will not be used for selections as not all
districts ran one this year due to COVID.)
2 - 17 Players based on UTR

- 13 Players from the districts (wildcards - reach out to your district to find

POINTS PER ROUND

MATCH SCORING/DRAW SIZE
Feed-in consolation draw (through the Round of 16). Quarter-final losers will be fed into a separate consolation draw to playoff for 5th and 6th place. Semi-final losers will playoff for 3rd and 4th place. All matches on Saturday and Sunday in the main and consolation are best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point tie-breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. PRACTICE COURTS!
Practice courts. Courts on Friday night will be available at regular club rates with reservations. 317-788-7700. You may reserve courts for practice in 1 hr. intervals anytime between and Sat. morning @ 8 a.m. when matches start. Courts are available for reservation on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning from 6-8 am for $28/hr. No 1/2 hr. reservation rate. Since the weather is going to be warm and sunny this weekend, another option for practice courts would be Center Grove Middle School North, 202 N. Morgantown Rd., Greenwood. It is about 20-25 min. drive south from UIndy Tennis Center. I've also been told that there are outdoor courts at Garfield Park and Roncalli High School that are closer. Roncalli HS is 3300 Prague Rd.. Garfield Park is 2505 Conservatory Rd.

ORDER OF PLAY
SATURDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 1 round of consolation singles. SUNDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 3 rounds of consolation singles. MONDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 2 rounds of consolation singles.

TOURNAMENT FEES
1) If your credit card has been declined, please contact the tournament director immediately. You have until noon Monday to pay the entry fee. The tournament director has the option to withdraw you from the competitors list if you have not communicated with them. 2) No refunds after player selection.
