Covid 19, Latest Update Thursday March 12, 2020 on the Covid-19 and Tournament Status
To All Players and Tournament Officials At this point, all of you who have already entered online and for those players who are contemplating or planning to play, this is what I can tell you at this moment. I have been in constant contact with State and County Health officials along with the USTA and ITF in a concentrated effort to make an informed and responsible decision on proceeding with the Men's National 40 & 45 Clay Courts along with the 45 Mixed scheduled for April 3rd. to the 8th..
Based on information at my disposal at this time, the tournament is still scheduled to start at noon on Friday April 3rd. However, with that said, much more information that I feel can properly guide us is expected over the next 72 hours. that is why I am informing everyone that a final determination will be made at 4 pm, Monday the 16th. I am fully aware that this may frustrate those who need to book airfares and get the best possible rates along with accommodations. In the meantime, I encourage anyone who has any questions or concerns to call me at (954) 873-1803.
One final note. knowing in advance this may be an issue, I have worked with Tennislink and USTA to make sure no entry fees are processed until the night of the deadline has past. This way we will not be in a refund frenzy as far as Entry Fee money is concerned. So till Monday I wish you all good health and feel free to call me. Thanks Frank!
