CHALLENGER DEFINITION: A Challenger is a novice player who has
NOT won an Open tournament. A junior may continue to participate in
challenger events, in their age appropriate division, until they
have won no more than (2) Challenger Tournaments. After two (2)
Challenger Tournament wins, a junior is no longer eligible for a
Challenger event until they age up. A player may not play out of
his/her age division in a Challenger event until the month in which
the junior ages up. Challenger events do not count towards the Net
Generation star progression system.
Player Selection Type
FORMAT FOR 14'S, 16'S AND 18'S CHALLENGER
Best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point tiebreaker to be played
instead of a 3rd set. Regular scoring.
FORMAT FOR 10'S CHALLENGER DIVISIONS: 10's Challenger Divisions
will be played on 60' courts with orange low compression balls.
10's matches will be best of 3 short sets,first to 4 games - if the
score reaches 4-4, a 7 Point Tiebreak will be played to determine
the winner of the
set. Matches will be no-ad scoring.
Due to the unpredictability of match outcomes, we are unable to
take match time avoidance requests.
RESCHEDULING POLICY - Finals may NOT be rescheduled!! There will be
NO RESCHEDULING of matches except in extreme circumstances beyond
the control of the players (such as a funeral) and then only with
prior approval of the Tournament Director. Players rescheduling
without permission will be DEFAULTED!!
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 30, 2020 11:59:00 PM Mountain Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
