Tournament Reports
B12 Alternates updated Tuesday @ 5:04pm
|
UNFORTUNATELY THE STATE GUIDELINES HAVEN'T CHANGED. ONLY PLAYERS FROM REGION 9 HAVE BEEN SELECTED
Those not in Region 9 (Lake or McHenry County) have not been selected for our tournament. You have received an email from the USTA indicating you were not selected, you were not charged and that you are an alternate. You will then be removed from the alternate list by us. Hopefully things will change soon!

G10 CANCELLED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT

ALLOWING OTHER REGIONS AND COUNTIES TO SIGN UP IN CASE STATE RULING CHANGES
As you can see, our tournament is only for Region 9 (Lake and McHenry Counties) residents, however because we are hopeful (fingers crossed), that the State may change this, we are allowing other Regions and counties to sign up for our tournament. The State of Illinois usually updates their guidelines every Tuesday. If we find that on Tuesday, September 22nd the guidelines have changed, we will consider those from other Regions in our selection process. Please sign up , but know that if things do not change, your child will not be selected.

THIS TOURNAMENT IS ONLY FOR PLAYERS THAT RESIDE IN EMS REGION 9- LAKE AND McHENRY COUNTIES
Following State of Illinois Guidelines, College Park is only allowed to host players from Region 9, Lake or McHenry Counties. If you do not live in one of these counties, please do not sign up for this event as you will not be selected to play. See link with Regional Map.

USTA TOURNAMENTS IN ILLINOIS/STATE OF ILLINOIS DIRECTIVES
On July 29, Governor Pritzker of Illinois issued a directive
on youth sports that aims to minimize the risk of the spread of Covid-19 by
limiting gatherings at youth sport events and interactions of players from
different Emergency Medical Services (EMS) regions. Even though tennis is identified as a low-risk activity, the
State feels that certain types of events include a heightened risk of exposure
due to the involvement of many more participants, family members and
spectators. As such, in order for USTA to host junior tournaments in Illinois,
USTA will be following strict Covid-19 safety protocols and making selections
of players based on EMS region.

time as well as weekend schedule by viewing the draws.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY
Tentative schedule is as follows: Friday 5pm & Saturday/Sunday
as early as 1030am but usually 3pm. We may need to adjust these
times (earlier/later) based on the number of entries. If you have a
conflict please do not sign up for our tournament. We will not be
able to accommodate any special scheduling. We also have no idea
how many players will actually sign up or what time what age
divisions are playing until after the deadline and selections,
seeds and draws have been made, BYES placed, etc. Please do not
email and ask what time a specific age group plays. If you are not
available within the tentative time frame above (give & take a
few hours), please do not sign up. Most players sign up the very
last day hours before the deadline, so we cannot make any
scheduling decisions, till after the deadline. We will post this
online as soon as we post start times.
SELECTION PROCESS
Draws are limited to 16 per age division except in BG10's where we
are limited to 8 per draw. The TOP RANKED PLAYERS will be
selected from the most current Midwest Standings List in the age
division of the event. We encourage all ranked and unranked players
to sign up. Most times many players accepted are unranked.
MATCHTIEBREAK INFORMATION
When using the shortened match format and playing a MatchTiebreak
(Supertiebreak) in lieu of the third set, a player is allowed a 3
minute rest after the second set and before the MatchTiebreak where
coaching is allowed.
WITHDRAWS/MIDWEST SUSPENSION POINT SYSTEM

to our homepage and in the right margin, click on "Edit

tournament has begun, please call the club and ask for tournament
desk. REMEMBER when withdrawing from a USTA event once the
selections have been made, the only reasons that are accepted by
the USTA Referee without incurring FIVE (5) suspension points are
injury, illness or family emergency. Having a soccer game, a family
dinner, or not feeling like playing the consolation are not
accepted reasons.
SIGNING UP FOR TWO EVENTS/MIDWEST SUSPENSION POINT
