Notes
We have added several new protocols to help make the tournament
safer, by reducing contact and distancing between the staff,
players, spectators, and tournament officials. We need your
cooperation and assistance to follow these protocols. If you have a
problem with the protocols, please withdraw from the tournament. NO
EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Please read everything thoroughly.
In order to compete in this event, all competitors MUST click the
below link to fill out the Survey Monkey form by Thursday, Sept 24
at noon. Failure to complete may result in withdrawal from the
event.

TOURNAMENT DESK:
o You should be ready to play 15 minutes before your listed match
time.
o Matches will be called via text to the #1 seeded player of each
team with instructions.
o The clock will start from the time of this text.
o Be prepared to play up to 2 rounds per day. The official sanction
is for 3 days.
FORMAT:
Each team match consists of a doubles match followed by #2 singles
match and #1 singles match. The team that wins 2 out of the 3
matches wins the team match.
Please note, players earn points based on individual wins and not
team wins. Even if a team does not advance in the draw, players
receive credit for any individual matches won. Each team will be
guaranteed 2 team matches, unless the draw is not full for reasons
such as teams withdrawing due to injury, illness or personal
circumstance.
Doubles is one set to 6 no ad. 7 point tiebreak at 6-6.
Singles is 2 out of 3 (4 game sets), no ad, with a 7 point tiebreak
at 3-3.
First round loss consolation. No feed-in, 10 point tiebreaker
instead of third set for singles.
WARM-UP:
o Courts will not be available for warm up.
o Players will be given a 10-minute on-court warm up.
WEATHER ISSUES:
If there are any weather issues/delays, please do not call the club
directly, check online on Tennis Link for up-to-the hour
updates.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
The safety and well-being of players, families and staff is our top
priority, thus we have instituted a number of Safety Protocols that
everyone must follow (details below). There will be no exceptions
to the below rules - thank you for your understanding and
cooperation.
� DO NOT PLAY:
� If you are exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus. According
to the CDC, people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms
reported-ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. These
symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus: fever,
cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills,
repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat,
new loss of taste or smell.
� If you have been in contact with someone with known or suspected
COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
� SOCIAL DISTANCING:
All players must follow a minimum of 6' social distancing.
For the safety of everyone, doubles players also must maintain a
distance of 6 ft of separation during intervals, between points,
games, sets and on changeovers. The first instance of
non-compliance will result in a caution. Further non-compliance may
attract penalties. Talking/shouting by partners, especially when
close, is discouraged.
PLAYERS:
o Will be permitted inside the tennis center only when they are
being called to court.
o PARENTS & COACHES ARE NOT PERMITTED INSIDE THE TENNIS CENTER.
Once players finish their round (doubles and 2 singles), they must
leave the tennis center.
o Social distancing around the perimeter of the tennis center and
against the fence is required. NO EXCEPTIONS.
o Should take change-over breaks on opposite sides of the court. If
this is not possible, chairs should be set at a minimum of 6 feet
apart.
o Restrooms will be available. Please do not congregate in the
restroom, the locker room areas are closed.
o All players must wear a mask everywhere except on court. If you
are not wearing a mask, you will be asked to leave the
facility.
o Come prepared with your own:
* Hand sanitizer
* Water - fountains will be turned off. Beverages can be purchased
on site. Ice will not be provided.
* Light snacks - rounds typically last 2.5 hours.
TENNIS BALLS:
o Each match will be played with 3 tennis balls.
o Players will use the balls for doubles matches and #2 singles
match. New balls will be provided for the #1 singles match.
SPORTSMANSHIP & ETIQUETTE:
o Good sportsmanship is expected from all players.
o Players should NEVER spit on the court.
o Inappropriate and unsportsmanlike language, bullying and taunting
will not be tolerated and will be coded.
o Players are NOT allowed on the other side of the net, even if
invited by their opponent. If you need a ball mark inspection, then
ask a tennis umpire for help.
o The USTA Point Penalty System, Lateness Rules and Junior
Tournament Regulations are in effect
DURING MATCH:
o Player chairs must be placed at least 6 feet apart and they may
not be facing one another or another player.
o Players should spin a racket while both are standing at least 6
feet away from the net. The umpires will time the warm-up.
o The server should clearly call out the score loudly before every
point.
o Raise your racket to get the attention of a tennis umpire.
o Coaching is not allowed even when players split sets.
o Players should take change over breaks on opposite sides of the
court or be spaced 6 feet away from the net (creating 12 feet
between players). 4 players should not have their bags/chairs
between 2 courts.
o When returning to your chair, do so in a manner where you
maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet.
o Before leaving the facility, the #1 seeds of the winning team
should report their DOUBLES score at the front desk or to one of
the court monitors, maintaining social distance. #2 players should
proceed to play their singles match with the same balls from
doubles. #1 players can wait on the benches OUTSIDE the tennis
court while the #2 singles matches are going on and vice versa. If
a player chooses to leave the tennis center, they will not be
permitted to re-enter.
COMPLETION OF THE MATCH:
o Offer an acknowledgement such as a nod, thumbs up or 'good
match.' Please do not shake hands or make contact with your
opponent at the completion of the match.
o Leave the court promptly, clean up your trash and take your
belongings with you.
o Pick up your used tennis balls and drop them in the designated
box.
