IMPORTANT
To pay in this team event, BOTH players have to register with a
partner and USTA #. Individual players without a doubles partner
registered will not be accepted! If after acceptance one player on
the team cannot play, player substitutions are not allowed. The
next ranked team on alternate list will be accepted.
Team Format of Play
Each team match consists of a #1 singles match, #2 singles match,
and a doubles match. The team that wins 2 out of the 3 matches wins
the team match. Please note, players earn points based on
individual wins and not team wins. Even if a team does not advance
in the draw, players receive credit for any individual matches won.
Each team will be guaranteed 2 team matches, unless the draw is not
full for reasons such as teams withdrawing due to injury, illness
or personal circumstance.
Miami Beach Tennis Center
This center was recently renovated and is located between 72nd and
73rd on Miami Beach. There is free parking on 73rd and the side
streets and there is a large parking lot east of the center.
Florida Residency Requirement
Players and their parents are required to be permanent residents of
Florida in order to be eligible for this level tournament.
Paperwork (as per the link) proving the parents and player are
permanent residents must be RECEIVED in the USTA Florida office and
APPROVED three weeks from the start date of the Level 3, 4, or 5
tournament, Players wishing to check their approval can check the
Tentative Ranking list published approximately 16 days before the
start of the tournament or check with the USTA Florida
office.
Player Selection
The draw will be a maximum of a 16 team draw based on the combined
ranking of the players on the USTA Florida Tentative Ranking List.
The Team will consist of a #1 position and #2 position based on
UTR.
Format of Play
Doubles is one set to 6 no ad. Singles is 2 out of 3 sets, first to
4, no ad, with a tiebreak at 3-3
Points Awarded This Tournament
Dependent on the number of teams enter, players will be awarded
approximate Level 4 points.
