Columbus City Open
The Columbus City Open, is a long time running local event, open to
all levels & ages. Our goal is to get as many tennis players
out and on the courts to enjoy the sport of tennis. This is our
first year using the USTA's Tennis Link registration system..for
any old timers or non-tec people, don't hesitate to contact
Tournament Director Michael Burt for help.
Below you will find answers to most questions however, please feel
free to text any questions to Michael at 812-369-7635.
All Junior divisions will play July 27th and 28th.
Junior divisions might be flighted to help keep levels of play
similar.
Adults will play July 27th through the 31st. Weekday play will
be afternoons only!
Matches: best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point tie-breaker
played in-lieu of a third set.
Junior 10's division will play no-add timed matches.
In the event of inclement weather, the tournament director has the
authority to change the scoring in order to finish the tournament
on time.
All entrants receive one tournament t-shirt (even if entered
in 2 events). Division champions and finalists receive
awards.
Event limit: Any 2 for which you meet eligibility
requirements. CAUTION TO THOSE ENTERING MULTIPLE EVENTS: In
choosing to play in 2 events, you expose yourself to the
possibility of playing up to 2 matches in one day or evening. This
will certainly be true if you advance to multiple finals. Many
finals will be scheduled for CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT on Wednesday, but
some finals of smaller events will be played earlier in the week.
We will try to limit the number of matches in a day and to give you
adequate rest between same day matches.
Scheduling conflicts: By entering, you commit yourself to
being present when you are scheduled to play. However, we want this
tournament to be as player friendly as possible. If you have a
conflict that would make you unable to play any day or time, tell
us by emailing your conflict to michaelburttennis@gmail.com and we
will TRY to schedule around your conflict. We do need to
know of conflicts before the draw is made (when you register).
Weekday play will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Small draws: If an event you enter does not fill, we will
move you to the next logical event. If you choose not to move, you
will receive a refund.

Columbus North High school - most matches
Donner Park, Burnett Tennis Courts
Tipton Lakes Athletic Club- in the event of rain
Adult championship Night: Most adult finals will be on
Wednesday evening, July 31stat Columbus North High School.
However, some finals will be sprinkled through the week as featured
matches.
Draws will be posted on this site during the afternoon on July
25th
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to USTA Members, USTA Members who have an expired membership and Non-USTA Members. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, July 23, 2019 1:00:00 PM Indiana Time.
