CHALLENGER DEFINITION: A Challenger is a novice player who has
NOT won an Open tournament. A junior may continue to participate in
challenger events, in their age appropriate division, until they
have won no more than (2) Challenger Tournaments. After two (2)
Challenger Tournament wins, a junior is no longer eligible for a
Challenger event until they age up. A player may not play out of
his/her age division in a Challenger event until the month in which
the junior ages up.
Player Selection Type
FORMAT UPDATE 11/25: The tournament format is changed to SINGLE
ELIMINATION. If any player would like to withdraw due to this
change please contact the Tournament Director and we can give you a
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Due to limited court space, each division
of this tournament will be limited to the first 16 players that
register. If you register after the 16 player limit is reached then
you will be contacted and refunded. To check if your division is
full please click APPLICANTS from the tab next to IMPORTANT INFO,
then select your division from the drop down menu.
FORMAT FOR 12'S CHALLENGER DIVISIONS: 12's Challenger Divisions
will be played on 78' (full size) courts with green low compression
FORMAT FOR 10'S CHALLENGER DIVISIONS: 10's Challenger Divisions
will be played on 60' courts with orange low compression balls.
10's matches will be best of 3 short sets,first to 4 games - if the
score reaches 4-4, a 7 Point Tiebreak will be played to determine
the winner of the set, no-ad scoring.
Due to the unpredictability of match outcomes, we are unable to
take match time avoidance requests. RESCHEDULING POLICY - Finals
may NOT be rescheduled!! There will be NO RESCHEDULING of matches
except in extreme circumstances beyond the control of the players
and then only with prior approval of the Tournament Director.
Players rescheduling without permission will be DEFAULTED!! All
costs of rescheduling are the responsibility of the initiator.
Players are under NO obligation to reschedule when asked by an
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Saturday, November 23, 2019 11:59:00 PM Mountain Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
