Notes
Changes to G12 Singles Draw:
Due to the withdrawal of the second seed in G12 singles the seeding
has been redone in this division and some adjustments to the draw
have been made, as allowed by Friend at Court and approved by the
Eastern Office. Any players whose match times are affected will be
notified of the change in their match time.
Match Formats:
Main draw singles matches are best of three sets with a 10 point
match tie-break played for the third set. There is a 2 minute on
court break if players split sets and coaching is not allowed.
Consolation singles matches are 8 game pro-sets with an end of set
tie-break played at 8-8. All singles matches will be played with ad
scoring.
Doubles matches are 8 game pro-sets with no-ad scoring and an end
of set tie-break played at 8-8.
Main draw matches will be held on the outdoor courts and the indoor
courts will be used in case of rain or if darkness is likely to be
an issue before matches finish. Matches which go on at 7:30 PM or
later will be held indoors.
A consolation singles round will be scheduled on the indoor courts
as long as we don't need to move the main draw matches inside due
to rain.
Player Check-In for Matches:
Players are requested to check-in at the tournament desk at least
15 minutes prior to each scheduled match. They should be prepared
to play at the time that they check in.
Practice Courts:
The Reis Tennis Center indoor and outdoor courts are available to
tournament players for practice at no charge on Friday, 6/22 until
4 PM; as well as on Saturday, 6/23 from 7-8 AM and Sunday, 6/24
from 8-9 AM. Courts are available on a first come, first serve
basis with up to four players to a court and a limit of 30 minutes
if others are waiting for a court. Indoor courts can be used for
practice during the tournament as long as there isn't a match on an
adjacent court. There will be no practice court reservations.
Other outdoor public tennis court options for practice during the
tournament:
Cornell North Campus courts at Appel Commons (186 Cradit Farm Dr.,
Ithaca, NY 14853).
Ithaca High School courts (1401 N. Cayuga St., Ithaca, NY
14850).
Ithaca College Wheeler Tennis Courts (161 Lyceum Drive, Ithaca, NY
14850).
Tournament held at Reis Tennis Center, home of the Cornell Men's
and Women's tennis teams.
A consolation round will be scheduled for players who lose their
first singles match as long as we have enough court space.
Doubles Pairings:
All doubles pairings need to be confirmed by Saturday, June 16th at
1 PM. Players who do not confirm partners by that time will not be
included in the doubles draws.
Players need to indicate their doubles partner when they register
for the tournament or email abf11@cornell.edu to confirm their
partner by the registration deadline. Once both players indicate
their partner in the applicant list or confirm by email that
they'll play together the doubles team will be entered in the
competitor list. We'll be happy to forward emails to players who
you want to contact about doubles, but USTA does not permit giving
out contact information without written approval.
