Notes
The Reis Tennis Center front desk/foyer is currently being
remodeled, so the front entrance is blocked off. Please enter the
tennis center through one of the side doors.
Practice courts are now available on Friday 1/5/2018 until 5
PM.
Due to the number of matches which needed to be scheduled over the
weekend on six courts
matches are scheduled at all possible match times starting on
Friday at 4 PM. We are not able to accommodate requests to switch
match times.
Match Formats:
Main draw singles matches are best of three sets and a 10 point
match tie-break will be played for the third set. There is a 2
minute on court break if players split sets and coaching is not
allowed. Doubles matches are 8 game pro-sets with an end of set
tie-break played at 8-8. Singles matches will be played with ad and
doubles matches will be played with no-ad scoring.
Player Check-In for Matches:
Players are requested to check-in at the tournament desk at least
15 minutes prior to each scheduled match. They should be prepared
to play at the time that they check in.
Practice Courts:
Players may reserve available indoor courts for Friday, January 5th
by calling the Reis Tennis Center front desk at 607-254-8922. The
court fee is $26 per hour. Please note that there is only indoor
court availability until 3:30 PM on Friday.
Players may reserve indoor practice time for half an hour on
Saturday, January 6th and Sunday, January 7th through the Reis
front desk (607-254-8922). The charge is $5 per PLAYER for indoor
courts.
Indoor courts have been set aside for practice on:
Saturday, January 6th 7-8 AM
Sunday, January 7th 7-8 AM
The indoor practice court reservations Saturday and Sunday morning
are restricted to 30 minutes per player with up to four
players to a court. If there are open courts players may sign
up at the front desk that same morning to practice for an
additional half hour. When making an indoor court reservation
please mention that the court reservation is for the USTA
Tournament, indicate the names of the players warming up on the
court and provide a cell phone contact number.
Alternate List:
We are not able to add late entrants to this tournament. If you
missed the deadline you can email abf11@cornell.edu to be placed on
an alternate list. If players withdraw alternates can take their
place in the draw as long as their inclusion doesn't affect the
seeding.
Doubles Pairing Deadline:
All doubles pairings will need to be confirmed by 1 PM on January
1, 2018 in order for teams to be included in the doubles
draws.
Tournament held on indoor hard courts at Reis Tennis Center, home
of the Cornell Men's and Women's tennis teams.
A consolation round will be scheduled for players who lose their
first singles match as long as we have enough court space.
Doubles Pairings:
Players need to indicate their doubles partner when they register
for the tournament or email abf11@cornell.edu to confirm their
partner. Once both players indicate their partner in the applicant
list or confirm by email that they'll play together the doubles
team will be entered in the competitor list. We'll be happy to
forward emails to players who you want to contact about doubles,
but USTA does not permit giving out contact information without
written approval.
