MATCHES WILL BE AT PHOENIX TENNIS CENTER AND SCOTTSDALE RANCH
IMPORTANT= *14s-18s are grouped together and put into draws based
on their UTR Rating to create the most level based play*
IMPORTANT! Due to a new policy from the USTA's legal
department, tournament directors will no longer have access to
phone numbers and email addresses of the tournament participants
unless the player re-enters their contact information at time of
event registration. This means that if a player does not enter
their phone and email information each time they register for a
tournament, the tournament director cannot contact them for any
reason, including withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc.
Your cooperation will ensure that tournaments can continue to
communicate necessary information to you. Thank you.
If a player withdraws or defaults from
the Junior Super Set after 4pm the day before the tournament
starts, that player will be assessed 4 suspension points
unless medical documentation of the injury or illness is provided
to the Tournament Director AND Southwest Section Junior Player
Development Manager within 48 hours after the completion of the
tournament. If it is before 4pm the day before the tournament
starts, there will NOT be any suspension points.
"Player shall not enter tournament player cannot finish. Player
shall not enter a tournament (including mandatory consolation)
knowing the player will be unable to finish." p119 Friend at
In theory, the Junior Competition Committee feels that it is
important to adopt and strongly enforce National's ruling on the
Suspension Point System. In recent years, several players have been
pulling out of tournaments, especially L3-5 events, on the final
day of competition or once a player is in the back draw.
