FAQs about this weekend's tournament
The tournament page shows 2 dates, will
it play both days? No, we would
only play on Sunday if rain delays matches to that point.
What
time will the tournament start? The first
matches typically start at 8 or 9 am, but that doesn't mean you will. Start
time are very dependent on the number of player in the tournament and in your
specific draw. Until we have completed taking entries and compiled the draws, I
can't answer this question until the draws are officially posted.
How
will I know when the draws have been posted? Typically the draws are posted on Friday morning by 11AM.
Please don't call, text, or email prior to this time asking for your match
times, if we haven't posted it, it's because it isn't finalized yet. When the
draws are complete and posted, you will see the DRAWS tab show up in the middle
of this page to the right of the Important Info and Competitors tabs. If you
don't see this tab, they are ready yet!!
What
is the format? Can't answer this
one yet, it will vary by division, depending how many players are entered. It
will definitely be a round robin, non-elimination format, and we will get all
the players as many opponents as possible within a reasonable time frame.
Do
we combine divisions? Yes, but only
when there are small draws! We want to get the kids as many opponents as
possible to give them experience playing multiple players with different
playing styles. We may combine Boys 12s with Girls 12s, or any combination of
Boys and Girls 14s, 16s, and 18s. Typically the players in these age groups are
novice players, so the age and gender differences don't have the same amount of
bearing on who wins or losses as it would in a Level 7 or higher event. We
would not combine green ball players with yellow ball players, or orange ball
with green, we would only merge divisions that signed up to play with the same
ball and court size.
