IMPORTANT!
Due to a new policy from the USTA's legal department, tournament
directors will no longer have access to phone numbers and email
addresses of the tournament participants unless the player
re-enters their contact information at time of event registration.
This means that if a player does not enter their phone and email
information each time they register for a tournament, the
tournament director cannot contact them for any reason, including
withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc. Your cooperation
will ensure that tournaments can continue to communicate necessary
information to you. Thank you.

1) Deadlines:
Tournament Registration Deadline -
Wednesday November 15, 2017 11:59 PM(Arizona Time)
If it is after the deadline and you want to see if we are accepting

2) Doubles Information:
1. When registering, please indicate your desired partner's name or
USTA number (preferred) on the registration form, and we will pair
you up in the selected division. Please ensure both teammates are
registered by the tournament deadline.
2. The deadline to specify a specific partner is Wednesday,
November 15th. If you do not specify a partner or withdraw from
doubles by November 15th, you will be randomly assigned a
partner.
3. To specify a doubles partner, you need to email the tournament
director your child's name and USTA number along with the name and
USTA number of their partner. You must CC: (copy) your doubles
partner when you email the tournament director with the
pairing.
3) Match Formats:
14s - 18s: SINGLES -- MAIN DRAW
FORMAT -- Best 2 out of 3 sets regular scoring. The 7 pt tie
breaker will be used in all sets tied 6 - 6.
14s-18s: Consolation Singles Format -- Best of 3 sets with 10 pt
match tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set
12s Green Dot Ball: Singles Main Draw & Consolation Format --
Best of 3 sets with 10 pt match tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd
set
10s Orange Ball: 2 Short Sets, (first to 4 and win by 2, or
tiebreak at 4 all), 3rd Set if needed is a 7 point tiebreak. No-Ad
Scoring. Racquets must be 25" or smaller.
10s Green Ball Singles Main Draw & Consolation Format: Best 2
out of 3 sets regular scoring. The 7 pt tie breaker will be used in
all sets tied 6 - 6. 10 pt match tiebreaker in lieu of 3rd
set.
Co-ed 8s: Format is 36' court/red ball. Two out of three 7 point
sets. The 8 and under age group will play modified scoring (two out
of three 7 points sets, sudden death at 6-6) on 36' courts with red
low compression balls. Racquets must be 21-23."
10s green, 12s green and 14s-18s Doubles:8 game Pro Set with a
tiebreaker at 8 all.
10s Orange Doubles:8 game Pro Set with a tiebreaker at 8 all. No-ad
scoring.
4) Date And Time For Draw To Be Made And Posted
Draws will be posted by Monday, November 20, 2017. All players are
instructed to Check-In at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled
match time.
5) Tournament Selection Procedures &Alternates: District
qualifying tournaments or "Challengers" serve as regular
competition and a qualifying tournament into the next Level 4
Master Series Event.
Open entry with limited draws; selection based on Southwest
protocol.

Tournament is an open event. Players from outside the Southwest
section can participate. Players from Mexico and Canada can
participate.
6) Late Entries Policy:
Late entries to Western States
will be considered only if we have not started making
draws/seeding. Please make every attempt to register by the
tournament deadline.
7) Withdrawal/Entry Fee Refund Policy for USTA Junior National
Championships
After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament if to withdraw from the
tournament - telephone numbers and email addresses of the
Tournament Director will be posted on the tournament's USTA
TennisLink Home Page. Players must also fulfill the written
verification requirements described below if the withdrawal is for
injury, illness, or personal circumstance and the player wants to
avoid being levied USTA Suspension Points.
Withdrawal After the Entry Deadline:
Players who withdraw after the entry deadline for any reason are
not entitled to a refund.

8) Check-In:
All players must check-in on Friday,
November 24th at least 30 minutes before their frist scheduled
match time. At check-in you will receive a player's letter and
tournament t-shirt for participating.
9) Tournament Schedule ***(Schedule is tentative and subject to
change)***
The tournament is scheduled from November 24th-26th, main draw and
consolation finals will be played on the 26th. Matches will start
as early as 8:30am on Friday, November 24th.
10) Practice Court Reservations:
Courts will be
available November 23rd at Reffkin Tennis Center on a first come
first serve basis for free from 8am-12:30pm and from 3:30-4:30pm
and from 6:30-9pm. Courts will be available beginning at 7:30AM on
Friday, Saturday & Sunday at Reffkin Tennis Center. Once the
tournament begins, practice courts will be limited and based on
availability.

All players are required to wear appropriate tennis attire. Cut off
shorts, bare midriffs, compression shorts & tights (alone), or
