MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN:
Mandatory means just that. We are staying until 9:00 pm for your
convenience. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by
For those of you that "just cant make it by that time" need to do the following and please do not call and ask for permission to miss check-in:
1- Make sure your entry fee has been paid - check the Tournament Entry Fee Report when posted.
2 - Email or Fax in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed to 251/208-5195.
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time to check in. Please be patient
with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and
off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to
4 - Those of you playing 8:00 am matches at the Mobile Tennis Center
will need to be on your assigned court at 7:45. Make sure you allow
yourself plenty of time.
For most of the day on Saturday we will only have one person checking in players for the
tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this
is not enough to check in everyone 30 minutes before their match times.
If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be
penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse
for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5
people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play
your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a
line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will
be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of
you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Non-Seeded girls who have byes first round may check in Saturday by 2:00, but you MUST still send in your waiver and contact information Friday.
Mandatory Check-In for Seeded Players is Saturday, 6/13, 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Seeded players can check in at anytime Friday or Saturday, but registration during the designated time will be quickest.
INFORMATION REGARDING MATCH TIMES AND WEATHER WILL BE HERE IN THIS SPOT AND ON THE RAIN HOTLINE 1-888-759-1047
The Mobile Tennis Center uses conduct rules above and beyond those enforced by the USTA.
Players participating in tournaments at the facilities identified are
required to abide by these facility rules of behavior on and off of the
court. These rules also apply to parents, coaches, siblings, and other
guests of the players.
The list below indicates the Facility Behavior Rules:
* No use of the word "suck" or any form of the word spoken or spelled.
* No use of expressions of frustrations with references to
deities (i.e. "Oh My God", "Jesus", "Jesus Christ", "Christ", "God")
either spoken or spelled
* No use of "freaking", "frigging", or "fricking" or variations of such words either spoken or spelled
* No Smoking anywhere on the premises. Premises includes parking lots, bathrooms, and anywhere within 30 feet of a tennis court.
Verbal rules apply to any language. We have officials on sight that are fluent in many languages
Anyone found in violation of these rules may be subject to a Code Violation and receive suspension points
For the Boys:
* Any T-shirts worn must be plain or tennis related
* No underwear should be visible above waist band or below hemline
* Shirts must be worn at all times
* Shorts must be worn appropriately above pelvic bones
* Sleeveless shirts are acceptable if made that way - no cutoffs
For the Girls:
* Any T-shirts must be plain or tennis related
* Compression shorts must be fully
covered with a skirt or dress. Also known as "shorties" or "booty
shorts" are not allowed to be worn without being covered
* Skirts and shorts must be worn appropriately above the pelvic bones
* The bottom of your Shirt must touch
the top of your Skirt or Short while standing upright-shoulders back; this means do not roll down your skirts or shorts. Trust us when we tell
you that your equipment (skirt or short) is not working properly during
play when rolled
Thank you for your cooperation
In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow "The Code"
If you have never read it, please do so.

If the player is not playing because of a personal emergency, the player shall provide a written explanation of the situation to the Referee no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. The Referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal emergency. FYI - a personal emergency does not include "my parents can't get off work" or "I have a vacation planned."
In order to receive a refund, you must notify the tournament immediately of your withdrawal. Then, YOU MUST MAIL IN A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE with your medical excuse or emergency explanation. Please mail to MATA, 851 Gaillard Drive, Mobile, AL 36608. You must also include the exact "Payee" name the check is payable to. This must be received by the last day of the tournament which is 6/19/15.
You will receive suspension points if you do not have a documented medical excuse or a written explanation of a personal emergency.
Our best advice to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules before registration closes. Thank you for your cooperation.

USTA SOUTHERN SEEDING CRITERIA
In an effort to provide greater transparency and understanding of how USTA Southern
seeds will be determined for USTA Southern L 1, 1A and 2 events, FAC (Friend at Court)
method II.A.4.b., which provides for a computerized system of rankings or standings. The
Junior Competition Committee approved the below chart that the Tournament Seeding
Committees, with assistance from the USTA Southern staff, shall utilize to determine
Lower level USTA Southern L 3, 4 & 5 events and State events below USTA Southern L 1-2
events, may choose between FAC seeding methods II.A.4.a., which provides for an All
Factors Method, or II.A.4.b., which provides for a computerized system of rankings or
standings and shall be published.
If two or more players are tied in the final seeding order and do not cross a seeding group
(i.e. 3 tied for #6 seed) they will be listed as having the same seed. If they cross a seeding
group (i.e. 2 tied at 8), then they will be drawn by lot for seeding position.
On a Draw Players will be seeded numerically 1-4, and in groupings of 5's, 9's and 17's.
When calculating 12U seeds, the 10U standings are not considered.

HIGH-TECH TENNIS VIDEO SERVICES:
We’re very excited about bringing our popular video services to the upcoming tournament!! As you may already know, our goal is to help junior tennis players achieve their recruiting & training goals! This is our 10th year of focusing exclusively on junior tennis & we’ve learned TWO important things: 1) If you want to play college tennis, YOU NEED A COLLEGE RECRUIT VIDEO & 2) If you want to compete with the top players, YOU NEED A MATCH PLAY VIDEO! Fortunately, we can help with BOTH so please visit www.high-techtennis.com for more info, including samples & contact us via e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) or text (678.640.2723) to reserve your match time. We have MANY digital camcorders & our services are very popular…FIRST COME/FIRST SERVED!! Finally, please be aware that any & all matches may be recorded for training or recruiting purposes ONLY. Thank you for your cooperation & for helping us help junior tennis!!
We do have a Fully Stocked Pro Shop at the Mobile Tennis Center. The
tournament discount is 20% off regular priced clothing, shoes, racquets,
and bags and 10% off most sale merchandise, which is already marked at low prices.
There will be two Experienced Stringers at the Mobile Tennis Center
during the tournament. Cost with your own string is $15. We also have a
large string inventory if you do not have your own.
One trainer will be on site at the Mobile Tennis Center during matches.
By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please
bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus Medicine, Epi Pens, etc. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest you see the
trainer. If you need to withdraw due to injury or illness, the process
will be much smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Without
confirmation, or a written doctors excuse by the end of the tournament,
you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you withdraw
during the tournament, you must see the Head Referee in person or it
will count as a "No Show"
