MAYORS CUP ALL-SCHOLASTIC TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS
New York Junior Tennis &
Learning first hosted the Mayors Cup All-Scholastic Tennis Championship in
1988. The tournament is the premier event for scholastic tennis players in New
York City. Held at the USTA Billie Jean
King National Tennis Center, the Mayors Cup has grown to become the second
largest event to be held at this facility famed for the US Open. The Mayors
Cup has additionally earned the honors of being named the largest scholastic
tennis event in the Nation. With a total of 11 different events and over 600
participants, the Mayors Cup All-Scholastic Tennis Tournament provides the
perfect opportunity for New York Citys junior tennis players to showcase their
on-court talents.

MATCH TIMES AND TOURNAMENT LOCATIONS
Due to the construction at BJK NTC and the large number of players that enter the Mayors Cup, we had to book courts at Queens College to ensure completing the event on time. PLEASE NOTE: THE LOCATION OF EACH MATCH IS SPECIFIED NEXT TO THE MATCH TIME ON THE DRAW. QColl IS THE ABBREVIATION FOR Queens College and NTC stands for USTA BJK National Tennis Center.

THE NEW YORK TENNIS EXPO IS SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE AT THE USTA BJK NATIONAL TENNIS CENTER ON SUNDAY , JUNE 1 FROM 10:30AM - 4:30 PM. CLOSE TO 2000 PEOPLE ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE EVENT. PARKING WILL BE LIMITED. IF THERE IS NO PARKING AVAILABLE AT PARKING LOT B , DO NOT PARK ON THE GRASS , YOU WILL GET A TICKET. PARKING LOT D IS FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY AND GIVE YOURSELF AMPLE TIME TO MAKE IT FOR YOUR MATCH .

INDIVIDUAL EVENTS
Players are permitted to compete in BOTH the Individual and Team events. Individual event players must submit the tournament application SIGNED by their school coach via fax at 347-238-2323 , 347-238-2317 or email ebantovska@nyjtl.org, icaraballo@nyjtl.org

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
· ENTRY DEADLINE is Friday May 2, 2014 · All entrants MUST BE currently enrolled in a New York City Middle or High School · Students currently in 6th – 12th grades are eligible to compete · If your school has a tennis team, you MUST BE an active participant on the team and be endorsed by your coach · If the school DOES NOT have a tennis team the application MUST be signed by an administrator from your school (i.e. Principal or Assistant Principal) · Varsity players are only eligible to compete in the Varsity Division as are Middle School players (JV) are only eligible to compete in the Middle School Division · Players are only allowed to compete in only one Division (see below)

USTA Eastern Ranking Points This event has partnered with the USTA Eastern Section. The individual tournament will count in the Eastern rankings as an L2 tournament.

Allowable Exceptions with USTA Rules In an effort to work within interscholastic regulations, there are some allowable exceptions when it comes to the following USTA rules: Eastern concurrent tournament rule, no-ad scoring, lateness rule, coaching and seeding. The tournament directors will do their best to accommodate match times and therefore will not be enforcing the Eastern concurrent and lateness rule as it is written. Any player registering for a concurrent tournament, please note that the other tournament will NOT accommodate your conflicts. You will have to make a decision as to which event to play. No-ad scoring will be permitted.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
