Matches in this NITA District Qualifier will be the best of
THREE TIEBREAK SETS, using AD SCORING (regular scoring) throughout
the tournament.
QUOTA SPOTS & ENDORSEMENT TO USTA MIDWEST CLOSED Northern Illinois District has (5) quota spots in each age division/event (BG12-18) for direct endorsement into the USTA Midwest Level 1 Outdoor Closed Championships to be held June 20-25, 2020. The five quota spots in each division will go to the Winner, Finalist, 3rd and 4th place finishers and the Winner of the Consolation. PLAYERS MUST PLAY AND COMPLETE their LAST SCHEDULED MATCH in the tournament THROUGH THE LAST POINT in order to be endorsed or be on the alternate list. . There are NO APPEALS for the "play and complete" rule, per Midwest Standing Orders. Default, walkover, or retirement of one's last match is not considered the completion of a match.

The USTA Legal Department has determined that they cannot provide contact information to tournament directors unless the customer provides the contact information during the registration process. If you don't provide an email address and/or telephone number when you register, we will be unable to notify you about changes during the tournament that may affect you.

SEEDING FOR EACH EVENT The "All Factors" method of seeding per Friend At Court will be used, with the most recent UTR (Universal Tennis Rating) of players as the primary reference for seeding. USTA Midwest Standing lists as well as any recent head-to-head matches of Northern Illinois players will also be reviewed.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FROM ALL FIRST TIME QUALIFIER PLAYERS Players who have not previously provided proof of U.S. CITIZENSHIP or LEGAL RESIDENCY to the NITA office must email, fax, or mail ONE of the following PRIOR TO THE TOURNAMENT ENTRY DEADLINE OF MAY 25th: Copy of either 1) U.S. Birth Certificate or 2) U.S. Passport or 3) Permanent Resident Alien Card (Green Card) or 4) a receipt confirming filing of the I-485. WILD CARD USE.. In any event, if a player who has earned one of the five (5) NITA quota spots for direct endorsement to the Midwest Closed will be unable to play in that tournament for any reason (and the NITA Endorser is notified prior to the entry deadline) a Wild Card player will be selected to replace the quota player. The order and criteria for the wild card selection will be as follows: 1) 6th place player (finalist in consolation); 2) If the 6th place player is unable to play, the NITA Junior Competition Committee reserves the right to select a player from the remaining players in the draw according to a previously determined method. A wild card cannot be given to any player who has not played in the District Qualifier. ONLY ONE WILD CARD CAN BE GIVEN IN AN EVENT.

style="color:blue">ENTRY FEES MUST BE PAID BEFORE YOUR FIRST MATCH If a credit card payment for registration is DENIED when player selections are made on Monday, July 20th, you must 1) Call the Tennis Desk at Rush Copley and make a payment for $88.65 no later than Tuesday, July 21st. Payment must be confirmed BEFORE THE PLAYER'S FIRST MATCH or the individual will not be allowed to play their first match and will be moved into the feed-in consolation. NO EXCEPTIONS.

PLAYERS MUST BE RESIDENTS OF THE NORTHERN ILLINOIS DISTRICT (NITA) If you live in COOK, LAKE, or DUPAGE COUNTY, you are a member of the Chicago District Tennis Association (CDTA) and must play in the Chicago District Closed Championships.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, May 26, 2019 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
