TOURNAMENT CANCELLED

AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE DIRECTOR OF COMPETITIVE TENNIS IN AUSTIN, IT HAS BEEN DECIDED TO COMPLETELY CANCEL THE WICHITA FALLS CHAMP MAJOR ZONE SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 5-6 DUE TO EXTREME RISK ASSOCIATED WITH ROAD CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL, AS WELL AS THE PROBABILITY THAT VERY FEW TENNIS COURTS HERE WILL BE FREE ENOUGH OF ICE TO BE PLAYABLE EVEN LATE IN THE DAY ON SUNDAY.

TEXAS JUNIOR POINTS: Champ Qualifying and Champ Level 1 ranking points
ELIGIBILITY: This tournament is for qualified Texas Championship resident junior players and Super Championship junior players who are in their LAST TWO MONTHS of age eligibility. You may enter championship events only in the age division for which you are qualified! Players may only compete in one ZAT/CMZ/SCMZ per month.

REGISTRATION: Players must register and provide cell phone number at first match playing site 30 minutes prior to start of match.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY: As early as 9:00 am, Saturday. Players will be expected to play up to three singles matches per day.
*************************************************************************************** NO GRACE PERIOD ON FIRST MATCH TIMES - Players need to check in at their site 30 minutes prior to their first match time. There will be no grace period for first round matches. The penalty clock will start at the time the match is scheduled and courts are avaialble. (per USTA regulations) Penalties for lateness are: 5:00 minutes or less - loss of toss and 1 game; 5:01-10:00 minutes - loss of toss plus 2 games; 10:01-15:00 minutes - loss of toss and 3 games; more than 15:00 - default. *************************************************************************************** NOTES FOR CHAMPIONSHIP JUNIORS: If you were formerly Super Championship qualified, please indicate when and what ranking you held, if any. The Tennis Link on-line registration system may offer you the choice to play in older age divisions. DIRECTIONS TO WEEKS PARK TC (WP): Same as Hamilton Park, but keep going on Midwestern past the light at Hampstead 1/3 mile. Turn left onto Weeks Park Dr. WP is on your left. Enter over the one lane bridge.

DIRECTIONS TO MSU (MU): Same as HP and WP, but stay on Midwestern Pkwy past Weeks Park Dr. After Midwestern curves to the right, go through the stoplight at Taft and the courts will come up on your right.

DIRECTIONS TO BARWISE JR HIGH (JH): From MSU, stay on Midwestern, turn right at Kemp 1/4 mi. to school on your right. Courts behind school. From US 82 (Kell Fwy), take Kemp exit and go south past Piedmont, Hampstead and Maplewood. School on left.

DIRECTIONS TO WICHITA FALLS HIGH SCHOOL (HS): From US 82 (Kell Fwy) take Taft exit and go north. At the deadend (3 blocks), turn right and then make a quick left. Courts ahead 1 1/2 blocks.

DIRECTIONS TO RIDER HS (RH): From US 287, go south on US 281/SH 79 and take the Southwest Pkwy exit. Follow Southwest Pkwy several miles past 5 lights. Turn right at light at Fairway Rd. Turn left on Johnson Rd. 1/4 mi. courts on left behind school.
