Future Match Info Report
Thank you so much to all!!!!
I hope that everyone knows that I'm very thankful to everyone for helping to pull off this monster-huge event. I especially thank the Bicek family who sacrificed two weekends and more in order to help me out. In addition, I thank DGSHS, MVHS, and NCC administration for allowing us to use their great facilities. If you should need anything else related to the event, please don't hesitate to email me. Have a safe and competitive remainder of your summer!
DID YOU NOT GET YOUR T-SHIRT & BACKPACK YET? GO TO NNHS TO CHECK-IN...
....before you check out. We have moved the bags and tees to NNHS for everyone. If you stopped by the hotel earlier, this DOES NOT apply to you. However, for those of you who still don't have your stuff, come on by and see Nina. She will make sure you have your goodies!
PLEASE USE EMAIL....ALWAYS INCLUDE THE AGE GROUP
I apologize for the request, but again, we have a large event and email allows us to all have a record of information. As we have many players, please always include the player's age group for clarity. Thanks!
If you were a late entry AND/OR if your credit card was not processed, you will need to bring a check with you to our registration at the hotel. Please have checks payable to Naperville Park District for $80.55.
Again, we encourage you to visit us at the Marriott for check-in. If you live near-by, you do not need to check-in with us that Friday night (unless you wish to for getting maps). We will be there Saturday throughout the day too. This is our Tournament Headquarters and the hotel's lobby is a great place to relax, grab a bite, and watch some TV between matches.
To Answer Questions about "Official" Check-in:
This tourney has a swagg bag. We are not putting t-shirts and bags out at the various playing sites. Rather, we have a "tournament headquarters" at The Chicago Marriott Naperville. We are in Conference Room D. You will need to stop by on SATURDAY to get these items. Thank you.

UPDATE ON SCORING FOR THIS EVENT:
Due to the popularity of this event, we are going with a 10 point match tiebreaker for the 3rd set in both the main and consolation rounds. Our doubles will be 8 game pro sets and there will be no doubles consolation. This change has been allowed in the best interest of all involved.
Players being processed shortly and then we are closing the event....
Hi all. I appreciate your patience as we work on the player lists. After these lists go up there will be a note that the tournament is closed. Also, with draws being made and scheduled throughout the day tomorrow - as with a tournament this size, scheduling is a big deal - there will be no refunds for withdrawals beginning Tuesday July 24th. Again, Naperville and the surrounding community looks forward to hosting this wonderful event.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS NOW CLOSE 7/16/2012 5 p.m. - BUT CALL AND ASK!!!!
Please take advantage of booking rooms at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. The discounted rate is on hold through 7/16/2012. You can call the hotel directly at 630-505-4900. Mention that you are part of the Naperville Park District USTA tennis tournament in order to receive the discounted rate of $89/night for a standard queen/queen guestroom. You can also add their AWESOME breakfast buffet for $9.95/person. This hotel is our official tournament headquarters. We will have the official tournament desk at a meeting room on the 1st floor near the elevator banks. We will have a Friday night check-in for players coming in from out of town and our local players who want to get materials and maps that evening. Friday check-in at our tournament desk begins at 4 p.m.
We HIGHLY suggest that you attempt to get "Checked In" for all of the player goodies. Several boys from our last event never even received their cool t-shirt. The conference room is our home base with information, stringing, and more! Come visit the hotel even if you are not staying there!
DOUBLES REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED 9 p.m. FRIDAY 7/27
In order to properly schedule for the doubles events we need to close the doubles registration by 9 p.m. on Friday July 27th. This is the end of the "Official Tournament Check In" at the Marriott. Please read the information on this homepage for procedures. We will not pair partners. This is up to the players to arrange ahead of matches on Saturday.
We will be adding at least one more site or two....
Due to numbers, we will be adding a site or two. The information will follow. This is just a heads up for families with more than one player in the event.
Questions....please send emails...
I am happy to reply to your emails just as soon as possible. I apologize for the delay over this past weekend as we were doing the Midwest Open B16s here. We should be all set for your upcoming event now.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR INFO AND ADD A CELL PHONE CONTACT AT CHECK-IN
With many late entries and in reviewing some of the player info, I don't have many cell phone contact numbers. We will gather this information at our check-in. It is imperative that we are able to get ahold of you at check-in. Thank you.
BG 12,14,16,18 age groups are level 5 Midwest events with a limit
of 64 in each singles draw. FIC events may not finish and will be

and/or Age Division and who have not withdrawn from all Tournaments
and/or Age Divisions other than the one they choose to play in, by

GENERAL TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
* This is an
elevated MIDWEST LEVEL 5 tournament, hosting the
whole spectrum of junior age divisions for both singles and
* For all age divisions, the mandated
number of players will be selected from the most current Midwest
List for the age level below first, followed by remaining players
selected from the most current Midwest List for that age group
second. This enables the tournament to make selections deeper into
the age division of the event. See more detailed information
specific to age divisions, see the "Midwest Selection
* For the 64 singles draw FIC and will be
playing two out of three full sets with advantage scoring.
* Registration is now open through
Thursday, July 19th 2012 11:59 p.m. (Central Time)

USTA Official is not available (which is rare), we will schedule
additional experienced Park District Staff to be on court for any
problems that may arise.
* Trophies given to Main Draw Champion,
Finalist, and Sportsmanship Award Winner. All participants will
enjoy a "Swag Bag" and t-shirt given out at the official tournament
check in at the hotel.
* Please plan on arriving at your MATCH
SITE at least 30 minutes before your scheduled match time. There is
often a lot of traffic in our area, especially around downtown
Naperville. The USTA point penalty system will be in effect.
Lateness up to five minutes- Lose one game and loss of toss,
lateness up to ten minutes- Lose two games and loss of toss,
lateness up to fifteen minutes- Lose three games and loss of toss
and lateness after fifteen minutes- Loss of match. Umpires and our
referee will enforce USTA rules for lateness.
* All matches will be held outdoors, so
prepare for weather related situations. Players may bring chairs
and coolers on court for changeovers. Should matches move to an
indoor location, singles will pay $10 and doubles $5 per player to
help defray the costs.
RULES IF A MATCHTIEBREAK IS USED
For all age divisions there will be a REST
PERIOD before MATCHTIEBREAK (Supertiebreak) When using the
shortened match format and playing a Supertiebreak in lieu of the
third set, all players at the event are allowed coaching by
ONE person associated with that player (coach,
parent, etc) between the 2nd set and Supertiebreaker with a break
of 3 minutes. This is a very short time, so coaching behind the
court will be allowed during that 3 minute break (this includes a
quick phone call to a coach if a player prefers that). If a player
is late coming back on the court (or beginning play following a
phone call), the penalty is loss of game, which is loss of
Supertiebreak, which is LOSS of MATCH
Also, in 18 and under divisions, players will be entitled to a ten
minute break after splitting sets and before playing the third set
where they can receive coaching.
FIRST MATCH TIMES
As recommended by the USTA we do not post draws
until the first round matches go on. We post First round START
TIMES on this home page under "FUTURE MATCH
INFO" Attention: Since this is an outdoor event, please
check this homepage frequently for match information updates.
