Ryan Holder Apr. 6, 1978 - Jan. 14, 1995
Ryan Holder was a remarkable 16 year old young man from Lexington who died in a tragic automobile accident. Ryan began playing tennis at the relatively late age of 12 years old and progressed rapidly to the top of his age group. His accomplishments include: Junior Davis Cup, National Zonal Tennis Team, High School Regional Singles Champion and the Kentucky High School All-State Tennis Team. Ryan's zeal for competition, his enduring smile and his many friends remain a part of his legacy. We would like to thank Ryan's parents, Karen and Richard, for their continued support and involvement with this tournament. The Lexington Christian Academy Boys and Girls Tennis Program is honored to host the annual Ryan C. Holder Memorial State Closed Junior Tennis Tournament.

Rules Changes for 2011
The following rule changes will take place for all USTA Sanctioned Tournaments beginning in 2011:
- All matches with a full 3rd set receive a 10 minute break before starting the 3rd set (this change gives the 10 minute break to the 18 & Under Division)
- When playing a Match Tiebreak in Lieu of the 3rd Set, players receive a 3 minute break where coaching is allowed.
Suggestions: The players should stay on the court during this time and coaching should be done through the fence. Note: If a player is not back to the court and ready to play after the 3 minute break, the player is defaulted from the match (this stems from the rule that if you are late after a break, the player receives a game penalty) Note: If a player goes to the restroom during the break, he/she is granted extra time. The opponent can receive coaching throughout the entire break if the player who is going to the bathroom is believed to be receiving coaching.
- A player loses the point if he/she reverses the call from “out” to “in”.

10 & Under Divisions—Singles & Doubles
Beginning January 1, 2011, ALL 10 & Under tournament play in Kentucky (and Southern Section) will use the QuickStart Tennis Play Format. The following are mandatory parameters for all play in 10 & Under tournaments:
- Racket—up to 25 inches in length
- Ball—Orange Low Compression Ball
- Court—60’*21’ for singles, 60’*27’ for doubles
- Scoring—Singles—2 short sets to 4 games. At 4-4, a Set Tiebreak (first to 7, win by 2) is played. In lieu of a 3rd set, a Set Tiebreak (first to 7, win by 2) is played to determine the winner of the match. Doubles—1 set to 6 games. If the score reaches 6-6, a Set Tiebreak is played (first to 7, win by 2)
All 10s tournaments, including the Creason and Southern Closed, will use the parameters listed above. Players should be able to keep score, call their lines, and, ultimately, complete the match without a permanent court monitor.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
