Frequently Asked Questions
Play will be on September 29-30. We will not have matches on Friday night. Play will begin at 8am Saturday and Sunday.
What Divisions to Sign up for? Any player that signs up will be playing singles, doubles, and mixed doubles, so you an register for singles only or all 3.
Who will get selected? We will try to get each player into the KY JR CUP, if possible. If we must select, the selections will come off the KY Standings, so that there is an even number of players on each team.

Tournament Level (points)
This team competition will be a KY Level 2, STA Level 5 event.
KY: Players will receive 50 points per singles and doubles win. No points can be awarded for mixed doubles victories.
STA: Players will receive 15 points per singles and doubles win. No points can be awarded for mixed doubles victories

Player Selection
The top players in each age division (boys and girls 12s, 14s, 16s) will be selected to the KY JR CUP. All others will be placed on the alternate list. Selections will be made on September 25 based on current Kentucky JR standings.
The number of players per team depend on the number of registrations. For example, we'll try to get registrations after the deadline so that each team has the same number of players in that level.

Main Draw Singles 12s-16s: Best of 2 Tiebreak Sets with a Match Tiebreak in Lieu of 3rd Set
Doubles & Mixed Doubles: 8-Game Pro Set
Match Formats may be altered if inclement weather conditions arise

Medical Release Form
All players must complete the Medical Release Form and Consent Form before their first match. Players are encouraged to complete this form before the tournament begins. Please mail or fax the form to USTA Kentucky (number and address are shown at top of page). If not received, players (and parents if under 18) must complete this form at the site of first match before player is permitted to play.

Team Composition
Team will be composed of boys and girls. Each team will have players from the Boys 12s, Girls 12s, Boys 14s, Girls 14s, Boys 16s, and G16s.
For example, Boys 12s will play versus other Boys 12s in singles and doubles. Mixed doubles will include Boys 12s and Girls 12s.
Coaching by parents, personal coaches, etc. is not allowed.

Team Match Format
Every individual match will count 1 point for their team. The team that wins the most individual matches (singles, doubles, mixed) will win the team match.

Raise a Racquet Foundation
The Raise a Racquet Foundation is USTA Kentucky's endowment fund dedicated to improving lives through tennis and education. Players may receive funding from the Raise a Racquet Foundation to assist in the development of their game (such as: clinics, JTT Registration, and tournament fees). Applications are reviewed by a volunteer committee and are kept strictly confidential

--Start times: Saturday arrive by 8am. Sunday arrive by 8am unless instructed otherwise
--Locations: Seneca Park & Kentucky Country Day
--Please bring water, drinks, snacks, etc. Water will not be available at the sites.
--All teams will have 3 team matches. Saturday AM, Saturday PM, and Sunday AM.
--Rain Plan: in the event of rain, please check this website. Since we have so many matches, we likely will not move indoors.
