Check-in will take place at the Salt Lake Swim & Tennis Club in the upstairs player lounge - located at 2471 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84106. The Player Party at Registration will be hosted by HEAD/Penn Racquet Sports. It will be held on Friday, June 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club - located at 2471 South 1700 East, Salt Lake City, UT 84106. Games...Demos...Prizes!!! Players make sure you enter the drawing to win one of two Head Tennis Bags ($100 retal value each) to be given away.

UNTIL CHECK-IN, CHANGES IN THE DRAWS CAN AND OFTEN DO OCCUR!!! Many draws will change as players drop out of events. The draws are not final until you see the draws that are given out at check-in!!! Draw information will not be available over the phone. Matches will start at 8:00 AM on Saturday the 9th.

Due to the size of this event and the number of people coming from out of state, time avoidances are not available.

Salt Lake Swim & Tennis Club will host a pre-Summer Sectional Tournament warm-up and match play on Friday, June 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The workout will be limited to 40 participants. The cost is $35.00 per person. Please call (801) 487-3206 to register.

SPORTSMANSHIP AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO ONE BOY AND ONE GIRL FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOR BOTH ON AND OFF OF THE COURT. A SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO ONE PARENT FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING BEHAVIOR DURING THE TOURNAMENT.

INTERMOUNTAIN SEEDING PROTOCOL - Seeding for all of the Intermountain Tournaments (Circuits and Sectionals) will be taken straight off of the current ITA Standing's Lists except if there is an exceptional player aging or playing up. An exceptional player is defined as a player listed in the top 100 of the most current National Standings List in the lower age division. This exceptional player will be CONSIDERED for seeding. DOUBLES SEEDS will be taken directly from the most recent ITA Individual Doubles Standings Lists. Partners ranks will be averaged and seeded accordingly. Consideration for seeding will be given for exceptional doubles teams, which are teams comprised of players who are ranked in the top 100 of the Combined National Standings in the lower age group. AS SHOWN ON PAGE 71 IN FRIEND AT COURT - Number of seeds. The number of players seeded shall equal a power of two (for example, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 or 32). The maximum ratio of players seeded shall be one in three, except that any draw may have one or two seeds.

SINGLES - All singles matches will be the best 2 out of 3 sets with a 7 Point Tiebreak at 6 games all, with a full feed-in consolation. DOUBLES - 8 game prosets until the Finals. Finals will be the best 2 out of 3 sets with a 7 Point Tiebreak at 6 games all. Doubles will be single elimination.

There is no limit on the draw sizes in the ITA Summer Sectional Championships. All Intermountain players who enter will be accepted.

If you are playing doubles, you must sign up online with your partner. There will be no doubles registration at check-in! Please register by the May 9th deadline. If you would like to play doubles but do not have a partner, you may contact me at (801) 944-8782 x13 prior to the May 9th deadline and I will do my best to pair you up with a partner. Absolutely NO doubles entries or partner requests will be accepted after May 23rd!!! You must play in the same age division as you are playing singles. Your partner MUST be in the same age group as you. For example, if you are playing in the Boy's 14's singles division, your partner cannot be playing in the Boy's 16's singles division. Unfortunately those types of requests cannot be accomodated due to potential scheduling conflicts. The doubles format will be 8 game pro-sets, single elimination up until the Finals. The Final matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring, with a 7 Point Tiebreak at 6 games all. The doubles event is very important especially for those players who are interested in playing college tennis.

IF YOU ARE NOT SHOWING A DOUBLES PARTNERS NAME ON THE WEBSITE, YOU NEED TO CALL ME TODAY, BEFORE I AM GONE FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND, WITH YOUR PARTNERS NAME. WE WILL BE SEEDING THE TOURNAMENT WHEN I RETURN ON TUESDAY AND I WILL BE MAKING THE DRAWS THAT AFTERNOON. IT WILL THEN BE TOOOO LATE TO PARTICIPATE IN DOUBLES IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PARTNER. Play will be subject to the rules of the USTA. The USTA Point Penalty System will be enforced throughout the tournament. NO UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL BE TOLERATED! USTA Certified Umpires will be present at all playing locations.

All Tennis Players will be required to wear appropriate tennis attire and dress in a manner consistant with the facilities expectations as well as the expectations of a participant in the ITA Summer Sectional Championships. Guys - no tank tops or very low riding shorts. Ladies - top and skirt should touch when checking in for your match. Questionable attire is subject to the Site Director's discretion.

There will be a Video Taping Permission Form available at the tournament desk. Parents or guardians of tournament participants will need to fill this form out in order to be able to video tape anything that will include the other player. This form wll require a parent or guardians consent and signature to allow video taping of the full court match. You of course can always video tape your own player, but for the protection of the other minor player, you will need to fill out the form prior to video taping anything that will include the other player.

Please obey all rules and policies for the hotel and tennis venues. Anyone involved in any questionable conduct at guest facilities will be defaulted from the tournament. Please be respectful of others, be courteous to tournament staff and volunteers - an occasional thank you goes a long way! Please help to keep the tournament stes clean by picking up your trash on the grounds and courts. THANK YOU!

As you check in for your match, you will receive a match card. Please slide this in the plastic sleeve on the gate as you enter the court. The match winner will be responsible for bringing the match card back to the tournament desk ater the match is completed.

You may be playing up to three matches per day (including doubles). PLEASE start hydrating at home 48 hours before you travel to Salt Lake City. The weather could be very warm! Please bring sunscreen and anything else you might need to help prevent too much sun. A water jug, white hat, extra white shirts and a towel are suggested.

Incase of the BIG "R", please do not leave the site! The weather can change very quickly and matches may be resumed sooner than you think. Even if the weather looks "iffy" (unless otherwise instructed by a tournament official) always go to your site to check in for your match, regardless of weather conditions. If there is a BIG "R" delay, alternative instructions will be provided at the tournament desk. Playing indoors will be a last resort and every effort will be made to reschedule matches outdoors if weather permits. The Tournament Host Hotel is the CRYSTAL INN. The CRYSTAL INN is located at 818 Winchester Street, Murray, UT 84107. This hotel is right off of I-215, by using the belt route to get to the sites you will save a lot of driving time. It is very close to Sports Mall and Cottonwood Country Club and has easy access to Salt Lake Tennis Club, Coach Mike's Tennis Academy and Liberty Park.
