| Welcome to the Boys and Girls 14, July
Regional Segment, (Formerly the Texas Open) held July 7-10, 2012 at
the Village Tennis Center. Please read this full page before you
call as we have tried to answer all your questions in advance.
MAIN SITE: Village Tennis Center is a privately owned
tennis center that is open to the public. We offer 12 newly
re-surfaced courts in the traditional US Open Blue Green color. We
are located at 8310 Southwestern Blvd. Dallas Texas 75206. Phone

PLAYER MEETING: MANDATORY player check in meeting at the
Village on Saturday morning at 8:30am. All players must attend and
turn in there liability release as well as be present for the
meeting. Liability release forms may emailed to
Steve@stevefranklintennis.com
REGISTRATION: will begin on Friday evening at 5-7pm at
the Village. Players are encouraged to register early, however you
will still need to attend the Saturday Monday morning meeting.
SCORING: the Main draw will be the best 2 out of 3 sets,
regular scoring using the 12 point tie break in all sets.
Consolation matches will be playing 2 sets, regular scoring with a
first to 10 points tie break in lieu of the third set, with an
authorized 3 minute break with coaching allowed. It is imperative
that players return to the court on time as the penalty for
lateness is DEFAULT. All Doubles matches will be 8 game Pro set,
regular scoring with a tie break at 8 all. Please be aware that due
to the heat index, the main draw score format may be altered with a
third set match tie break in lieu of the third. All singles
divisions have a mandatory feed in thru the quarters with matches
played thru the semi finals, NO FINALS. Check draws for times and
locations.
BALLS: Pro Penn Marathon, 3 balls for each match.
FIRST ROUND MATCHES: Boys Saturday 9:30am GIRLS Saturday
9:00, All Monday and Tuesday matches will be at the Village.
Warm Up and Practice courts! Courts will be available on
Friday Evening at the (Village 5-7pm) and Saturday morning from
7:30 until 8:30am. Players will not be allowed on the courts during
the Mandatory Meeting. Players who want to warm up on match days
(Sat-Tuesday) will need to use Lake Highlands High School-Village
Matches (more info) or Berkner High School-Huffines and
Garland Matches (more
info). Courts will be available at-least 1 hour, before the
first matches of each day at every site.
| Dress Code and Check in:
All players should check in 30 minutes prior to each match and be
ready to play. Have shoes on, rackets ready and electronic devices
turned off. All players must stay within close proximity of the
desk once checked in. Players should wear regular approved,
non marking tennis shoes, and normal tennis attire. |

Doubles Entries: If you have not found a partner and want
to sign up for doubles, registration will be open until Thursday
July 5th. Players must inform the Tournament Director that they
want to be placed on the list.Doubles teams must also emai the TD
to be added. Priority is given to players who have been accepted
into the singles draw first. Players who have requested to play
doubles and are in the singles draw but do not have a partner, will
be been randomly paired up. Times for doubles will be posted after
1pm on Saturday. Boys Doubles will begin at approx. 4:30pm on Sat.
at Garland TC. Girls doubles will start at approx. 4:30pm at the
Village. Anyone interested in playing doubles only must register on
before July 5th. Doubles is limited to 32 teams.
Refunds: there are no refunds offered for this tournament
after the entry deadline has closed.
Officials: We will have roving USTA officials present
and they will be enforcing foot faults, timing warm ups,
un-sportsmanlike conduct, and Controlling Spectators. Be aware that
a players Parent or Coach, can cause the player to lose points due
to coaching or involvement in the match.
Cell Phones: NO cell phones or electronic devices shall
be visible on the courts at any time and should be turned off.

withdrawals please. Also indicate the reason for the
withdrawal. |

| Draws and match start times will be
available Sunday July 2 ! |
| All players should pay particular attention
to the abbreviation next to the match time as this indicates the
match location. Some locations will change from Sunday to Monday.
Maps are located under the more info tab. Players are responsible
for obtaining all match times and SHOULD NOT rely on the site
personnel for times. Posted draws and the internet are the official
times. |

| To improve consistency and help ensure
fairness to all players, Referees and Officials will be strictly
enforcing lateness rules. The Lateness Penalty begins when the
match is scheduled and called, and any court is available. This
means there will be no grace period. Players should arrive 30
minutes early for every match and once checked in be ready to play.
If a player checks in and is not ready when called, point penalties

| Seeding: Per the National USTA
Junior Competitive office, All national tournaments are now being
seeded strictly by the National Standing List, Seeding is tentative
until draws are posted! |
| Medical Release: The United
States Tennis Association requires a signed medical release
covering all entrants in national USTA events. The release must be
signed by the entrant and parent or guardian of any entrant who is
a minor. Please complete the USTA/Medical Release Form and bring
with you to tournament registration. This form MUST be submitted
prior to match play. The form can be obtained by using this
