Lauren Lomax-Portage, Michigan. The tournament staff and officials
were very pleased to recognize the exemplary sportsmanship and

INDIVIDUAL FIRST MATCH
TIMES
Individual first match times can
be viewed by clicking on the link above under 'Tournament Reports'.
There is an optional early registration period today (July 1) from
5:00 - 7:30 p.m. for players who would like to register for the
tournament today, receive their player information, etc. All
players who do not register today will need to do so at the
tournament desk on Saturday morning at least one hour prior to
their first scheduled match of the day. Signed Medical Waivers (see
information below) will be required for all players upon
registration.
DRAWS
The draws will be be posted at
the Midland Community Tennis Center by 5:00 p.m. Friday, July
1.
OPTIONAL PLAYER CHECK-IN FRIDAY,
JULY 1, AND FINAL DOUBLES REGISTRATION
There is no player meeting
scheduled for this tournament, however, ALL players must officially
check-in for the tournament prior to their first scheduled match.
We will be offering an optional check-in period on Friday, July 1
from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. At check-in players will need to provide a
completed USTA Medical Release Form (we will have these forms
available, but they can be faxed to us beforehand- please see the
information further down this page), give us local contact
information for your stay in Midland, and tell us what hotel you
are staying at. Once we receive that information we will give you
your Tournament Program (with important tournament information),
player gift bag, and tournament t-shirt. And, we will confirm your
doubles participation one last time. Hopefully, most players are
planning to arrive in Midland on Friday so that they will have
sufficient time to sign-in, practice, get familiar with the Midland
Community Tennis Center facility, and to settle in before the
tournament begins on Saturday morning. ALL PLAYERS WHO DO NOT
CHECK-IN ON FRIDAY WILL NEED TO CHECK-IN AT LEAST ONE HOUR PRIOR TO
THEIR FIRST SCHEDULED MATCH ON SATURDAY.
TOURNAMENT PROGRAM - Each player
will receive a Tournament Program when they check-in. In lieu of a
player meeting, this Tournament Program will contain helpful and
important tournament information, and each player will be
responsible for reading that information prior to the start of the
tournament.
FINAL DOUBLES REGISTRATION -
Doubles registration for this tournament will close at 7:30 p.m. on
Friday, July 1. As a reminder, all players that are selected into
the singles event are eligible, and encouraged to play doubles. If
you need help finding a partner, please let us know (see DOUBLES
instructions below). Check the doubles list above (under
'Tournament Reports') - if your name is not on that list and you
are planning to play doubles (we hope you are!), let us know now if
you would, please.

played at the Midland Community Tennis Center/900 E. Wackerly

989-631-5532. HOURS OF OPERATION - Friday, July 1: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00
p.m. Saturday, July 2: 7:30 a.m. until the end of play. Sunday,
July 3: 7:30 a.m. until the end of play. Monday, July 4: 7:30 a.m.
until the end of play.
USTA NATIONAL LEVEL 2
TOURNAMENT-PLEASE READ-INFORMATION HAS BEEN CORRECTED
For ranking purposes, this is a
USTA National Level 2 Tournament. The DRAW SIZE will be 32 for
singles and 16 teams for doubles.This tournament will feature a
feed-in consolation (FIC) and a 3rd-4th place playoff for the
singles draw. The scoring format for Main Draw Singles will be the
best of three tiebreak sets. The scoring format for the FIC matches
will be the best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point match
tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set. Players losing in any main draw
singles round through the quarterfinals will be entered in the FIC.
Play in the FIC is mandatory, as is the 3rd-4th place playoff.
Doubles scoring format will be an 8-game pro-set with a match
tiebreak (first to 10, ahead by 2) at 8-games all. Doubles will be
single elimination and will have a 3rd-4th place playoff.All
matches will be played at the Midland Community Tennis Center,
which features 15 outdoor hard courts and 16 indoor hard courts.
All play will take place outdoors, weather permitting, but we will
have adequate indoor backup if necessary.
PRACTICE COURTS
The Midland Community Tennis
Center is a nationally-recognized tennis facility featuring 16
indoor and 15 outdoor hard courts. All tournament play will take
place outdoors, weather permitting. On Friday, July 1, the tennis
center will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and outdoor and
indoor courts will be available throughout the day (limited before
11:00 a.m.). HOWEVER, NO RESERVATIONS WILL BE TAKEN. ALL PRACTICE
COURTS AT THE TENNIS CENTER WILL BE AVAILABLE ON A FIRST-COME,
FIRST-SERVED BASIS, THROUGHOUT THE TOURNAMENT. Please see the
Welcome Center for all practice court requests and payments - DO
NOT ENTER ANY EMPTY COURTS WITHOUT AN ASSIGNMENT. Outdoor courts
are free of charge. The indoor court rate is $20.00 per hour and
fees must be paid prior to entering the court. Tournament matches
will begin each morning at 9:00 a.m. and there will not be any
outdoor practice courts available at the tennis center after that
time. Additional nearby outdoor practice courts are located at H.H.
Dow High School (8 courts) and Midland High School (8 courts).

copy now. IMPORTANT-Please make sure you bring your own practice
balls. Tennis center hoppers, ball carts, ball machines, and demo
racquets are not available for tournament player use.
GROUP HITTING SESSION ON FRIDAY,
JULY 1
There will be an organized group
hitting session on Friday, July 1 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. This
session will consist of structured drilling and point play.
Cost:$15.00 per player and advance sign-up is requested (payment

PRIVATE HITTING
SESSIONS
Private hitting sessions with
USPTA teaching professionals or high-level collegiate players can
be arranged (as available) during the tournament. Cost is $30.00
for thirty minutes or $55.00 for one hour. All hitting sessions
must be paid in advance by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or
Discover). No shows and late cancellations will not be refunded.
All hitting sessions will be scheduled on the tennis center's
indoor courts but can be moved outside if a court is available.
Private hitting sessions are subject to cancellation if rain forces
play indoors (refunds will be issued for rain cancellations).

Third-Fourth Playoff, SINGLES FIC CONSOLATION DRAW Quarterfinals
and Semifinals (the Consolation Finals will not be played), DOUBLES
Finals and Third-Fourth Playoff.
DRESS CODE
Players will be expected to wear
appropriate tennis attire befitting a national level tournament
during all tennis matches. Any player not meeting the dress code
will be asked to change before going on the court. BOYS-No tank
tops or sleeveless shirts that are not designed specifically for
tennis by sports manufacturers. Boxer shorts must not show above or
below shorts. GIRLS-The bottom of the shirt must meet the top of
shorts or skirt when arms are at rest (throughout the entire
match). Players wearing compression shorts may be asked to put on
conventional shorts or skirts over them.

ALTERNATES
The lists of Players and the
ordered Alternate Lists for boys and girls can be viewed by
clicking on the above links under "Tournament Reports". If you are
on the alternate list and would still like to be considered for
entry if a spot opens up, please forward us all current contact
information so that we can contact you immediately if a spot opens
up. If we can't reach you in a timely manner, we will have to go on
to the next player on the list. We will update the Player lists and
the Ordered Alternates Lists as changes are made, so please
continue to check this site to see where your name is on the list.
If you get into another site for the July National Opens, please
let us know as soon as possible so that we can remove your name
from our list.
ON-SITE ALTERNATE
PROCEDURE
All players on the alternate list
are eligible to be on-site alternates. In case of multiple on-site
alternates, the order will be based on the original Ordered
Alternate List. All players wishing to be on-site alternates must
check-in at the tournament desk on Saturday, July 2 by 8:30
a.m.
THE DEAL ON
DOUBLES!!!
All players selected for the
singles event are eligible, AND ENCOURAGED, to play doubles. You
may have signed up online, but you need to e-mail us to confirm
your doubles participation for your name to show up on the doubles
players list (see list above under 'Tournament Reports'). If you
need help finding a partner, please let us know and we will do our
best to assist. For privacy reasons we do not give out contact
information for players unless authorized to do so by the player or
parent. If you would like us to send a request on to potential
doubles partners, please indicate in your e-mail that we can
forward your contact information. All doubles pairings will need to
be confirmed by Friday, July 1, 2011.
