Practice Courts, Check-in, Player Meeting, and Start Times:
Players may practice on site on Friday, May 21. Practice courts will be available for reservation starting Thursday, May 20, at 3pm. We will have non-mandatory check-in on Friday evening, the 21st, from 5 to 6pm at the tennis center, and a players' meeting and dinner at 6pm. This meeting is not mandatory, but the Tournament Director and Tournament Referee will go over tournament procedures and rules, and will be available to answer any questions about the event. The draw will not be posted until Friday. Matches will begin on Saturday at 8am. First match times can be requested by phone or email earlier in the week. On Saturday, Girls matches will be played outside, weather permitting, and Boys matches will be indoors. On Sunday, the Girls will be indoors and the Boys outdoors.

Doubles
Doubles sign-in will take place on Friday and Saturday during registration, and will remain open until the end of the first round of singles. If you are not listed on the website as playing doubles, you may still register with a partner at registration. There will be a sign-up sheet for players looking for a partner. The doubles draw will be made and posted on Saturday, and play will begin Sunday.

US Open National Playoff Event
The Tennis Center at College Park will also be hosting the US Open National Playoff for the Mid-Atlantic section. This event will be held May 17th-22nd. The finals will be played during the first round of the National Open. We encourage everyone to come out and watch some great tennis. The winner will qualify for a spot in the final playoff to be held later this summer for a chance to play in the Qualifying for the US Open in September.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event

It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 15, 2010 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
