WILD CARD INTO THE 2010 FAMILY CIRCLE CUP QUALIFYING DRAW
The Family Circle Cup has long been recognized as a professional event where young stars make their mark and what better opportunity for a young girl than to experience the thrill of playing in one of the top pro events on the women's tour. That is exactly what will happen to the winner of the Girls' 18s Singles when she receives a wild card into the 2010 Family Circle Cup qualifying draw held Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th. She will get her chance to make her own mark on a tournament where legends abound and new ones can suddenly be born. Congratulations to our previous Girls' 18s Singles Champions: Alison Riske (2009), Mallory Cecil (2008), Nina Pantic (2006 & 2007), Inga Beernann (2005), Katrina Tsang (2004), and Shadisha Robinson (2003).

SOUTHERN LEVEL 3 TOURNAMENT AND SOUTH CAROLINA LEVEL 2 TOURNAMENT
All draws will be a maximum of 32 players with a full feed-in consolation through the Quarterfinals with the exception of the Girls 18s which will be open to all national players and have a draw size of 64. There will be a 3/4 playoff in each division. Players, with the exception of Girls 16s, may sign up for 2 events (for those desiring to play up) but will only be selected to play in one event. Players eligible for Girls 16s are limited to entering either the Girls 16s OR Girls 18s division, but NOT both due to the level each of these divisions are sanctioned. USTA Southern office will provide a list of players selected based on current Southern standings with 1/8 of the draw coming from the next lower age group in the top 40 of each of the Girls 12s - 16s and Boys 12s -18s draw of 32 and the remainder from the age group of the event.

DUNLOP
A Dunlop representative will be at the Family Circle Tennis Center throughout the event offering racquet advice and sponsorship opportunities forthe players. During the Player Party on Friday night, Dunlop will host an on court activity for all players to test the latest and greatest Dunlop line of racquets.

PLAYERS, PARENTS, AND COACHES PARTY ON THE PATIO - FRIDAY at 6:00 pm
Be our guest for dinner on Friday evening at 6:00 pm at The Family Circle Tennis Center. Activities include ping pong and one point tournament as well as Dunlop will host an on court activity for all players to test the latest and greatest Dunlop line of racquets.

FIRST MATCH TIMES
It is the responsibility of the players to verify their match time as match times are subject to change. Please check the draws again at 6:00 pm on Friday, February 19th to insure that you arrive on time for your first match on Saturday.

PLAYER FIRST MATCH CHECK-IN
All players must initially check in at the Family Circle Tennis Center at least one hour PRIOR to their first scheduled match. First matches will begin at 8:00 am on Saturday morning. Early check-in is encouraged and will be available on Friday, February 19th from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm. If you do not arrive on Friday before 7:30 pm, you MUST check in at Family Circle Tennis Center at least one hour prior to your first match. After initial check-in, all players should report directly to designated sites for scheduled matches. MANDATORY USTA and FAMILY CIRCLE TENNIS CENTER RELEASE forms must be signed by each player's parent/guardian prior to first match.

SITES AND SURFACES
All sites are subject to change based on draw size and in case of inclement weather. Boys and Girls 16s and 18s will be played on clay courts, primarily at the Family Circle Tennis Center(FCTC) and as needed at the Daniel Island Club. Boys and Girls 12s will be played on hard courts at College of Charleston (CofC). Boys and Girls 14s will be played on hard courts at Mount Pleasant Rec on Whipple Rd (Whip). Boys and Girls 10s will be played on hard courts at FCTC and as needed at DIC. The Family Circle Tennis Center is located at 161 Seven Farms Drive on Daniel Island. The Daniel Island Club Tennis Pavilion is located at 715 Island Park Drive on Daniel Island. The College of Charleston Tennis Center is located on Patriots Point Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant. Whipple is located at the Kerr Tennis Center at 889 Whipple Road in Mt. Pleasant. Directions to all sites will be available at check-in registration.

SIGNING UP FOR TWO DIVISIONS
Players are allowed to enter two divisions with these guidelines: #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected to the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either divisions would remain on the alternates' lists for both divisions but would be obligated to play the division they first get in, from the alternate list. They would be removed from the alternate list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the alternates' list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division no changes can be made.

DRAW SIZE / SCORING FORMAT
Boys 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s will each have a draw size of 32 players for Singles with a full feed-in consolation through the QF round. Girls 10s, 12s, 14s, and 16s will each have a draw size of 32 players for Singles with a full feed-in consolation through the QF round. Girls 18s will have a draw size of 64 with a full feed-in consolation through the QF. All age divisions will play the best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point tie break in lieu of the third set. There will be a 3 / 4 Playoff in each division.

SELECTION / SEEDING
Selection and Seeding will be determined based on current ITF, National, then Regional rankings for the Girls 18s draw. The acceptance list provided by USTA Southern for Boys 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s and Girls 12s, 14s, and 16s will be based on current Southern standings. Players eligible for Girls 16s are limited to entering either the Girls 16s OR Girls 18s division, but NOT both due to the level each of these divisions are sanctioned. Girls 10s and Boys 10s will be based on State rankings. A ranked Alternates List for each division will be posted and updated as needed. This is a Southern Level 3 and South Carolina Level 2 tournament.

PRACTICE COURTS
The Club at Dunes West located at 3003 Dunes West Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant will offer the use of two courts for practice/warm ups beginning Friday, February 19th through Monday, February 22nd. Please email Jack Miller at dwproshop@jwhomes.com to reserve a court.

DUNLOP, THE OFFICIAL TOURNAMENT BALL

STRINGER
A stringer will be available at the Family Circle Tennis Center main site. String ranging in cost from $9 to $24 is available for purchase or you may provide your own. The cost for stringing is $20 per racquet.

TRAINER
A trainer will be available at the Family Circle Tennis Center main site.
|
WIRELESS INTERNET
During the tournament, wireless internet access will be available for players and their families while in the Family Circle Tennis Center Clubhouse.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
In the event of inclement weather, alternate scoring (no-ad scoring and/or third set tiebreakers) will be implemented followed by canceling rounds. Players will be informed of any changes primarily by the referee at their assigned site and secondarily by website updates.

WITHDRAWALS
Withdrawals prior to the entry deadline should be made by players using tennislink online. Anyone who withdraws after the close of registration should email smashjrcup@bellsouth.net stating name, division, and reason for withdrawal. Withdrawals after February 14th will not receive a refund.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. Please consult your Section or District rules and regulations for entry requirements for this tournament.
