Congratulations
to all participants, especially the Howard Head Sportsmanship Award winners Genevieve Hobson and Anudeep Kodali. And thanks to all for their patience of seeing us through all the showers to a final sunny (if hot!) last day. See you next year!

Monday afternoon:
At 4:30 still putting doubles out. All singles completed. So . . . looks as if we might actually finish! As scores are posted, pleases email us if you see mistakes - they do sometimes occur! First matches Tuesday and Wednesday are 9 a.m. (not 8). Please do not try to park by the courts! School is in session, and we are their guests.
|
Monday news:
We are still hoping to be on the courts at 11 a.m. The sun is breaking through, and courts are being squeegied. If there are changes, we will update the weather phone. We have been having trouble both with the on-site phone and internet connectivity, so may not be able to update these messages in a timely fashion.
|
Monday update:
Still hoping to start at McDonogh by 9 (perhaps 10). Keep checking weather phone 410 581-4760 for updates. Note: On-site phone broken. For this morning, emergency number is 443 744-9114.
|
URGENT: 9 AM, PARKING, and Doubles
Draws will be posted after dinner (sorry!). SEE DRAWS now: Consolation 3rd round 9 am (NOT 8 am). Main draw to follow - 10 am. Then more consos, then two rounds of doubles starting at about 1 pm. PARKING - You may NOT park by the courts even if you can get by the gates! School is in session on Monday. Please be respectful and careful. Enter the campus via Woods Road and park in one of the lots along it. Thanks you! And thanks for your patience in all the rain today!
|
Sunday Update
We are now looking to an 11 a.m. start. NOTE: We will be putting the in-progress girls' consolation matches out first with some of the 8 a.m. boys' matches.
|
Sunday Morning - weather
It is raining on site on Sunday morning, so matches are postponed. The hope is that this may clear out this morning and we will be able to get back on court. It takes about two hours to prep the courts. As of 6 a.m. we are postponing two hours - so matches will be played two hours later than listed on the draws as of this time and we plan to start at 10 a.m. If we need to push farther, we will announce that by 8 or so. Weather updates are also on the weather phone - 410 581-4760. Note: If that line is busy, it is simply because so many people are calling at once. That can block us from getting in to update the message as well - as it did this morning. So please bear with us as we get a handle on the weather and work our way through the day.

Sunday
The draws will be updated with Sunday and Monday times this evening. For now: The 8 am Boys Consolation matches will go on as scheduled. The 9 am Girls Consolation matches will go on as scheduled. The in-progress Girls Consolation matches will re-commence (at the point they left off tonight) at 9:30 am. When they finish, the next round will be played. The only times that will be changed for tomorrow will be the doubles. The first and second rounds of the doubles will be scheduled after singles on Sunday. Note: Some first round boys' doubles matches started, and they will continue where they left off (in warm-up or the first or second game). Thanks for your patience today it is always difficult when we get weather!

Doubles Draws
Made and . . . remade. Times have not changed.

Draws and Schedule
Singles draws are posted for Saturday and Sunday. PLEASE understand that these ARE TENTATIVE - there is always the chance of a withdrawal, actually almost always the likelihood of withdrawals. So PLEASE check these draws again, especially Friday evening. As noted elsewhere, we will try to get a round of doubles in following the singles Saturday. VERY IMPORTANT information about directions, check-in, etc., is listed below. PLEASE read it carefully. Also, a signed waiver form is required for check-in - also available below. As is information on doubles sign-ups, which will continue to be open Saturday morning (till 10 am for boys, 12 noon for girls). And be sure to go to the tournament website before Saturday also.

Check-in information, etc.
We finally had a chance to look over the tournament web page and have tried (everywhere we think) to clarify that BOYS will play each round first we alternate each year, so girls were first in '09 and some mentions of that on the web page weren't changed. So it should be correct now. As we get closer to the start of the tournament, information here about the draws and such will be updated.

Doubles
No need to sign up on line since we will have doubles sign up on site and will be asking those who signed up on line to confirm their intent to play and confirm or indicate their partner anyway. So no need to sign up now, tell us of your intentions before you get here, or tell us if you've changed your mind - we will just do it all here on site. NOTE: Tentative details - Doubles sign-up will close at TEN A.M. SATURDAY. Doubles will start Saturday afternoon. Draws will be posted as early Saturday afternoon as possible.
|
When Do I Play?
We alternate order of play every year, so this year boys will be scheduled first in each round, singles and doubles, including first round Saturday morning (so, no girls will play at 8 a.m. Saturday).
